iPod Style Earphone Buying Advice... o.O

Archive: 10 posts

Lol at the title, but that's the only way I can describe the earphones... Which is these type...

Now... Please keep in mind that they don't have to be The iPod ones.

They can be any brand, I'm personally looking for...

- Earphones with good quality
- Buyable at a local store ( RadioShack, Target, Frys )
- Reasonable price ( No I don't want the Earblasters7000 thank you very much... )

- I also don't want these type of earphones...

Personal reasons, and because a lot of my friends listen to my iPod, and I know how people feel about sticking those type of earphones in their ear, they can get a little waxy... If you know what I mean, my ears are clean though...

Look around for over ear style ones. Most of the time, you get better sound quality for a cheaper price than ear buds, and while they aren't easily sharable, you won't have to worry about nasty ear wax.

I am currently using a pair of Bose Around Ear Headphones:

Which tend to be a bit pricey (I got them for half off though).

How much are you looking to spend? If you can/want, it would probably be in your interest to save up a bit and get a better built, better sounding pair. I did, and I don't regret it. These are the most comfortable and sturdy headphones I've ever owned, and are going on 9 months old now. Every other pair I've had I've gone through a pair every 3 months or so.

Well, I would personally use them in public areas, like school. And headphones like those are really big, and wouldn't fit in my pocket, like I want them too...

I just personally like earphones... But, the idea of saving up and getting a better pair is helpful. Thanks for that.

I still use mine in public places, school, gym, etc. The only downside is that, you're right, they aren't very pocketable. But I place them in my back or keep them around my neck and everything is fine.

There is one problem, many earbuds made now are more of the 'in your ear canal' type buds as it offers better sound with less distortion. I would look for a pair that have different sized ear pieces that can come off, because a) they can be better tailored to fit your ear leading it to be more comfortable and b) are easily cleanable with some water and a dash of soap.

Very true, but I really don't like those ear canal ones... I just want some normal ones, but sturdy enough not to blow up when I listen to my music.2009-01-22 03:51:00

Funny, I was gonna start looking around for some headphones yesterday...HOWEVER...

I remember I had the ones my PSP brought. They sound awesome. Not the BEST quality, but very good nonetheless. Give them a shot if you have them.

I fail at reading. Sorry, Whaaale.

Sorry, I failed at reading two times in a row.
I'm...not making much sense. I guess it's the sleepyness. It's getting to me.

ANYWAY... Disregard everything I said.

You might like the PSP's headphones because they're the type shown on the first picture.
