Favourite music?

Archive: 18 posts

As there hasn't been a post like this for a while, I decided to make one. Simply say your favourite bands, songs, artists and/or music genres here. I start.

I really love rock music, heavy or not so heavy, but when it comes to way too artsy stuff, you can count me out.

My top five bands/artists are:

5. Hassisen Kone (a Finnish rock'n roll band)
4. Ozzy Osbourne
3. Petra (the gospel-band)
2. Queen (apart from that artsy stuff, like Bicycle Race)
1. Van Halen (YEAH!)

Favourite song? Hard to decide. It'd be one of the following:

Queen - Breakthru
Queen - Killer Queen
Queen - Don't stop me now
Petra - Adonai
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon
Van Halen - Jump
Van Halen - Little Guitars
Van Halen - Unchained
Van Halen - Mean Street
Van Halen - Dance the Night Away

Yes, it's my list so you can expect it to be like that.

Okay, go!

I'm more of a metal guy... I tend to dislike more traditional stuff (heavy, thrash, most power, most "pure" death, black... things like that), so I stay in the groove/melodeath/alternative camp. Unfortunately, I'm not much of an eclectic person, but I do listen to some punk rock and occasionally, electronica and hard rock.

Scar Symmetry remains as my favorite group, Disarmonia Mundi is probably second, third place's still a fight between Demon Hunter and Between The Buried and Me. Devin Townsend might be fifth or near.

Favorite songs... Scar Symmetry's "Morphogenesis" is my favorite, but I can't choose a second place.

I like pop music and my favourite pop singer is our pop king MJ. I love his song. The lyrics of his songs are really meaningful. The voice ,music plus his performance is perfectly matched with each other.2013-03-07 12:30:00

Have you listened to Pegboard Nerds or Tristam? Obvs all my R5 belongs to deadmau5 <3 but I think PBN is my favourite band-thing right now, their song frainbreeze is the best thing ever. I also like Muse because muse are beautiful, and a little bit of pendulum never hurt anyone. Also Knife party

<edit: wow this thread is like a million years old oops>

While I listen to most everything except corny country music, my listening roots are in rock. Chris Rock once said "comedy rots." For me it is music. I can only listen to something so many times before I have to shelve it a good long while. Historically, my favorite bands were always Van Halen and The Beatles. These days though, I find myself listening to newer groups with a retro sound. Groups like Arctic Monkeys, Wolfmother (reminds me of Black Sabbath), Band of Skulls and the White Stripes (Reminds me of Led Zeppelin).2013-10-16 19:08:00

On a note related to that, have you ever seen It Might Get Loud with Jack White, Jimmy Page, and The Edge? Worth checking out if you don't mind documentaries. Also, contributing Priestess to the list of bands that remind me of older music, at least for Hello Master.2013-10-18 16:01:00

I caught it on Netflix 2 or 3 years ago. It's not bad. Also, while I am currently taking an over-exposure break from them, I love documentaries.

Am a huge fan of most EDM. Dubstep, drumstep, comprextro, electro, drum and bass, trance, etcetera etcetera. (Do I look smart now?)

Anything dancy or fun!! I like "Tik Tok" and "We R Who We R" by Ke$ha. Just because they're always really dancy and fun, they make me happy. Taylor Swift has deep and heartfelt songs (http://www.isongs.pk/) that aren't just about love like "Innocent." The reason why I love this song of hers is because you're mostly used to nothing but love songs from Taylor Swift. But "Innocent" is about finding yourself, and that even in the dark, light can be found.(SUPER POWERFUL LYRICS!!) Miranda Cosgrove also has a fun and dancy song called "BAM" its just a dancy tune with meaningless lyrics, but hey, its fun to listen to2013-10-22 06:54:00
