Hi there fellow sackfans!

Try as I may I can't think of a witty introduction..
Anyway it's good to finally get involved in the community and seeing some of the inventive and artistic stuff you've created. I've played LBP on and off for a couple of years and only just managed to publish - I had a couple of months 'spare' so invested it (wisely?) by learning the ins and outs of creation. I'm a long way from being a master creator but I'm getting there slowly.
I'd also like to tell you how interesting I am and what a diverse range of exciting hobbies I have, but the sad truth is it's mostly snooker, CAD and making more LBP levels
My wife has got quite involved in the my creation and loves the decorating side of it. How many times have I heard "more cobwebs!" and "that floor looks too clean, put some more dirty smudges on!" You'll have to check out our creation to see what I mean - seriously, we must have used about a million 'damage' stickers. She's now saying "I want you to make Jumanji!" so I guess we'll see where that goes and I'll have a go at some creature creation which should be fun. If only I had another couple of years spare.

Cheers!

Welcome! Glad you made it!

Great story! "More cobwebs!" made me laugh a bunch and thanks for that. Smudge stickers and the like are my favorites. Adds shadowing and can give a bit better feel to a particular area in a level.

Make sure you publish your creation in the Level Showcase so others can get a chance to check it out and also give you some great feedback!

Any questions, feel free and ask!

Have fun!

Howdy and welcome to LBPC. So glad you joined. Great introduction! I see your wife is a "backseat creator" like mine I think you'll find that this is really a great place to be. It's an awesome place to make new friends, learn techniques and tricks and just to have a good time. To help you explore the site I'll provide a few links for you.

The Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase) area is the place you want to go to make a thread about your level. We have an optional F4F (feedback for feedback) system where you tell others to check out your level, come back and give feedback/suggestions and you'll do the same for them. It's a valuable system that is underused here. Be sure to use the LBP.me tool (the white bell in a blue box icon) http://www.lbpcentral.com/images/lbpme.png this will pull your level info from LBP.me and place it in the thread for you. NOT WORKING RIGHT NOW
Before posting your awesome creation in the level showcase, please read this handy dandy guide. It will help your get more attention to your thread and your level. The Level Showcase and You, a Guide to level Promotion (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=73343-LBPC-Showcase-Essential-Guide-(For-Dummies))
Spotlights (http://spotlight.lbpcentral.com/) -- In the mood to play some awesome member levels? This is the place to go. We're currently on episode 104!
Help (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?126-LBP2-Help%21) and Tutorials (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?127-LBP2-Tutorials) --Need help with a LBP issue? Check out our extensive tutorial library and help sections. We have tons of extremely knowledgeable members who are more than happy to help out.

That's all for now. In the mean time, have fun and enjoy your time here. If you need anything, please feel free to ask.

Welcome lemmy Glad to have you in the LBPC community. Enjoy your stay

P.S. It's better to have snooker as a hobby than to watch Snookie act crazy on Jersey Shore

Hey, thanks for that. I actually published in the showcase forum before introducing myself so if you have a few spare minutes, let me know what you think. I've had a quick look at some of your showcased stuff and they look fantastic - including a video is a great idea. Makes me wish I'd put more dialogue, humour, story, a custom badge etc etc into mine. Well they do say hindsight is 20/20 and it was my first attempt. The next one will be better. Much better. Anyway I'll DEFINITELY be checking out some of your levels in full very soon.
You did say any questions..... and as your ID is JWWPHOTOS you could be the one to answer this totally noob question. How do I add photos to the online game info (the comments and pics displayed while the level is loading)? I tried taking some in-game snaps but that didn't seem to work, then I uploaded some and they went straight to my LBP.ME page. Help!
I have so much to learn and only a well-worn lump of grey matter to do it with.

Cheers!!

Hey lemmyone, welcome to the site.

To attempt to answer your question, maybe you could upload the pics while still in the level you took them from rather than say, from your pod. That way it'll go to the level pics rather than just you lbp.me account. That might be what is needed. If not, then I'll have to look into it more myself or, more likely, someone else will answer you better first.

Enjoy the site.

Hello Lemmyone. It's great to have you as a new member.

I don't know if your pic question has been answered somewhere else, but it really doesn't matter where the pic uploaded to, as long as there is an associated URL where the pic resides online. First, edit your Showcase thread post using "Go Advanced" mode. Just above the text box where you can edit your text, you will see several icons. These icons have different functions, i.e. adding a video or pic, and when selected, will embed the appropriate HTML tags for the function. All you have to do is copy the URL of the pic between the tags.

To get the URL of the pic on your lbp.me profile, select the pic and it should go to the URL where the pic actually resides on the LBP server. The URL should look similar to this-->http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/6796bf9713a161100104365d8268f310bfec5c62.jpg (this is to a pic of a new Series I am working on). Notice the filetype is a ".jpg". If you don't see that, then you will need to select the pic again to see the appropriate URL. What follows is the result of placing that URL between the HTML Image tags. Note, you can also hand type the HTML tags, rather than use the Add Image icon, as the tags are simply "" and "", but without the quotes (those are there to avoid an error).

http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/6796bf9713a161100104365d8268f310bfec5c62.jpg

So, there you have it. Just remember, you can add an image to any post by providing the correct URL path to that image. Another thing to remember is you can hover over the image and right click to view properties, and the image link is typically displayed in Properties popup window.

Another thing to note is, when you do have a question, it is best to ask on a person's Profile Page or via PM (Private Message). This will ensure they see your question. Many people do not return to Introduction threads, and this is often the case with general topic threads.

Hope this helps. See you around, and if you have more questions, please do not hesitate to ask me on my Profile Page.
