Paintinator Switch. Help Please!

Archive: 14 posts

I am trying to build a rotating turret attached to the ceiling that is destroyed when shot by the paintinator. I know dissolve material would work but it's ugly and doesn't match the theme of the level. I am trying to make it out of the blue wire metal from the VR training in MGS4 but I dont know how to destroy it using the paintinator switch and gun. Help Please!2009-01-21 22:26:00

Maybe if you put a brain on it and link the paintinator switch to it then it would dissolve when the switch is activated
I THINK

Also you could just sticker the dissolve material.
You can take a in game pic of the material you want it to look like and then just sticker it with that pic

Use a deco layer?

Use stickers?

Connect the switch to explosives that make it go boom?

Brain on dissolve, magnet key on dissolve, magnet key switch (inverted) right beside it, but not on the dissolve. (permanent switch).

And what is that going to do for me?

And what is that going to do for me?

It'll do whatever you hook it up to; dissolve, explode, move, etc.

You are supposed to be able to link a switch a brain. Therefore the rule should apply for the Paintinator switch even if I didn't actually test it.

You best bet is to put a brain on the thing you want to disappear and link it by the paintinator switch.

I've been making turrets and stuff a lot for H.A.T.E._2 and it's pretty easy.

Put a Protected Brain (not unprotected) on the turret after you are all finished. Add the paint switch and set it to "One shot" behavior. Then connect it to the brain (It should connect to the rim of it). When you shoot it, it will destroy the brain and dissolve the turret no matter what it is made of.

You can also add some explosives to the mix by attaching it to the turret (preferably out of sight) and then attach the paint switch to that too.

BTW, make sure the turret is a complete object and DON'T glue it to the floor or wall or whatever. The protected brain will treat everything glued or attached to it as ONE object and will dissolve that too.

just choose a mgs4 turret make it laaaaaarge and you'll see how the mechanic works

adding little bombs for nicer effect is also a good idea, you can find bombs in the mgs4 turrets

Im pretty sure it’s the second level, the VR training one. You get the gun there too I think.

Take dissolve and make your turret, copy the turret and make it 1 layered in front of the dissolve. The use the material changer to make it what ever you want, if the dissolve looks bad, use stickers.2010-01-22 16:27:00
