Shifting Between Controlinators

Hey everyone!

I'm making a level and I have a gameplay mechanic that shoukd make the player capable of shifting between different characters. (Sackbots) I have 1 main DCS which should shift between the different Sackbots. I'm using a selctor to control the sackbots, but I can't make it work. It wont allow me to shift. i should mention that DCS are on the circuitboard, I think that the main problem.

I've made different recivers and transmitters and so on, for the different Sackbots.

You've might plyed the puzzle level/game: Flint by Sasukeuchica. it's a great puzzle game, and it features the awesome ability of shifting between enemies. It works neat and smooth, and I would like to do the same.

Any ideas?

Unless I'm looking into your problem the wrong way, it should be the same as creating a menu with sub menus.

Have the one main controllinator (which is the one your sackboy/girl sits in). Have it set to transmit a signal, give it a colour eg blue. Have your "shifting button" set to the bottom of a selector, the outputs of which are connected to tags (eg Bot1, Bot2 etc). On the sackbot logic board, place microchip with a tag sensor (Bot1, Bot2 etc) to the bottom input. Stick a controllinator on the microchip and have it set to be a receiver for eg blue. That should work.

Yea I have created something similar a fiew weeks ago. You could try this: there are 2 different emitters. 1 for the first bot and 1 for the 2nd one.
let's say you switch with r1.
the first bot needs a blue tag sensor and the second one a f.ex. red tag sensor. the first bot has a red tag and the 2nd bot a blue tag.
the sensors are connected with a destroyer.
So if you press r1 using the 1st bot the secound one will appear too. at the same time the secound one destroyes the first bot. understood?
I don't know if that is what you're looking for. Its something like a bot transformation.

Well, the bots will be there at all time. Think of it like The Cave. Here you can switch between 3 different characters, the bots can be in different positions throughout the level. 2013-02-12 15:18:00

The method I posted should work, I use it all the time to switch between controllinators, though not specifically with sackbots.... though I can't see why that would cause a problem.2013-02-12 15:34:00

Haha, not really. I just enjoy using them, as I have done in every one of my levels.... in fact only one of my levels involves actual sackboy gameplay, and the one I'm working on now is the first time I've used controllable sackbots.
