Challenging platforming! This level will put your skills to the test in an unfamiliar environment. Expect to die a few times... no a lot. While it is challenging the level still remains fair. There are two difficulties, so anyone will be able to complete this level with a bit of effort. http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/04a8b9549dced2ef5129a52256f4b19455691f71.jpg Speed run friendly! After mastering easy mode, you can try hard mode where speed running is enabled. By becoming a master of hard mode you can be on the top of the leaderboards. http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/2801ec5cee029dc761efa921a8a2b739074a0a54.jpg Hidden collectables! There are 6 diamonds in the level. Some are hidden in plain sight... others... well...you'll figure it out eventually. Collect them all for even more bonus points! http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/91cb4c3d0fdbf5c821b0faba649afb3fa7cbbd79.jpg Countless video game references! There are lots of references to other games you might have played, and one big easter egg. How many can you point out? http://ie.lbp.me/img/ft/c9ef13267ddbf1031639055422286ed2d25628e3.jpg Diamond locations. Only watch if you don't want to find them yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU6OIcBTzU8 http://lbp.me/v/hyknde | 2013-02-08 22:59:00 Author: DreJ1212 Posts: 240 |

This is a fantastic level. Simple concept, but very funny gameplay and clean visuals. The speed of the sackbot makes it really tricky. I enjoyed it a lot! Very good level | 2013-02-10 09:03:00 Author: avundcv Posts: 2526 |
As I said earlier, if spikes weren't killing you while you don't really touch them, i would call this level a Pure Perfect, so it's just Average Perfect. | 2013-02-10 12:59:00 Author: Djibees Posts: 189 |
it was good but really really hard | 2013-02-10 14:55:00 Author: Luke_MK_II Posts: 1121 |
Wow thanks a lot everyone. I was honestly worried that the difficulty would be a huge drawback to most and the level wouldn't get a very good reception, but I guess I was wrong. I'm glad you're liking it! Also, I have added a video to the first post showing the locations of all the hidden diamonds. If you're stuck and/or wondering where the diamonds are hidden, then that video is for you. | 2013-02-10 18:06:00 Author: DreJ1212 Posts: 240 |
The difficulty in is is ok, but also not great. The gameplay mechanic works great and is understandable so this level of difficulty is fine. The difficulties I had were more to do with the controls, they are very close to great, but I did die several times feeling like it wasn't my fault. Most of these times were due to brushing a wall while falling and going past spikes ontop of the surface, and getting killed. I think that your hit box of is the teensiest bit too large. The other thing that got me killed was the acceleration curve of the bot, you seem to go from a standing start to very quickly in a little bit of a lurch, really imprecepetable normally but I did walk into spikes while trying to reposition several times. I understand that there is a walk button, but this is more about the last second re-correction of the analogue stick being translated into what felt like to large of an unexpected movement. Small gripes but they did impact the 'pick up and play' vibe where the only thing you need to learn is the x button, as I felt that I had to learn to avoid what seems safe (the spikes hit boxes) and the movement physics. Yeah, lots of fun, really well done and certainly worh playing. | 2013-02-10 23:37:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |

Yeah, lots of fun, really well done and certainly worh playing. Ah the controls. This is actually my least favorite part of the level (besides having to cheat the thermo countless times). I'm actually surprised that you're only the second person to say something about them so far. I wish I could use sackboys normal speed, but its way too slow for air control. However this level can honestly be considered a beta as I most likely will make a sequel to this level, and better controls are the first thing I will work on. There are also a lot of concepts I had planned but they didn't make it into the final level. Lets just say that if I make a sequel, you wont just be dodging spikes anymore. As for the spikes. I HATE how they work. I noticed that when slowly creeping up on them, I die before actually touching the spikes, yet if I run to them at full speed, I sometimes actually step past the first spike and then die. Sadly theres not much I can do about it for now. Thanks a lot for your feedback, it will help whenever I decide to work on the sequel. | 2013-02-11 00:05:00 Author: DreJ1212 Posts: 240 |
Great level, I think people have already detailed all the minor faults I noticed. Really enjoyed playing it | 2013-02-13 05:39:00 Author: Unknown User |
yup, don't think I can add anything that hasn't been said already, other than that I played it, enjoyed it, cursed it, enjoyed it some more then cursed a whole bunch then quit. Is a cool level though. | 2013-02-15 16:12:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
I'm happy to hear that the level is difficult, as that was what I was aiming for. In fact, the level could have been a lot harder. At first, there was no easy mode at all. You all might have only been able to play on hard mode if I wasn't nice enough At first, I had all the spikes from hard mode planned to be in the level, but in the end I figured it would be a huge turnoff. The level was too hard and the difficulty picked up too quickly, so in the end I decided to add an easy mode that would delete a few spikes and add a few extra checkpoints. I was dying in my own level too much, so that had to be a sign that I pushed it a bit too far. As I said before, if I make a sequel, the controls will be a lot better, but the difficulty will not change. Though better controls may make it seem easier overall. On a side note, this level has almost ruined a friendship. My first beta tester was a close friend of mine, and he vows revenge for making him play such a thing. (He played on hard mode first. Even though I strongly insisted several times that he plays on easy mode first, so in a way its his own fault). Also, I tweeted out a video of this level to the VVVVVV developer and he seems to have liked what he saw, so I guess thats a good thing. | 2013-02-15 20:47:00 Author: DreJ1212 Posts: 240 |

UPDATE I have republished the level and the sackbot no longer moves at max speed when you barely move the control stick. He now only moves at top speed if you press the control stick all the way to the left or right. Give it a try and see what you think. Feedback from people that have played the level before this update would be great. In case it goes badly for some reason, I have a backup of the level with the older controls just in case. | 2013-03-03 20:19:00 Author: DreJ1212 Posts: 240 |
