German LBP Community subforum and moderators

Archive: 34 posts

Some of you might have noticed that recently that we have a new subforum for German-speaking members of the LBP community (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?180-Deutsche-LittleBigPlanet-Community). We are thrilled to welcome the Deutsche LBP Community here to LBPC, and I hope that you will all join me in extending a warm welcome to our new guests.

To go along with these new forums, we have a trio of German Community Moderators who have volunteered to help manage this sub-section of the site. These fine folks can be identified by the shiny little flag next to their user names (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/images/Gflag16x12.gif).

Congratulations CuriousSack, avundcv, and Lumina!

I can't stop thanking you

Its so great you given us this german sub-forum. Absolutely awesome!!!!!!

We really hope, we are able to bring more german speaking members to LBPC.
Most of them are skilled in english, but some of them might be a little bit scared to post in english.
In this case CuriousSack and I offers a translation service to help them introducing themselves or presenting their levels in english.
Maybe my english isn't the best one, but I think it works

Thank you so much for this wonderful welcome on LBPC and the chance to be part of this great LBPC family

Yay and heart for all to you <3

Will this eventually expand to more sub-forums for other languages or is it a one off?Simply put, some folks came to me and asked if they could have a forum and I said yep.

Although I don't have any specific plans to add other language-specific forums at this very moment, I am certainly open to doing so in the future should the need arise.

Hi LBPC Community,

now its on me to thank you all in the name of the Deutsche LBPC Community for this overwhelming welcome and your hospitality! I'm still afraid that this is only a wonderful dream and that every minute my daughter will cuff me with the words: "Get up, slacker! Work is calling your name!^^ *ouch! Thanks, daughterly!* No dream!!! Special thanks to Taffey, Wolfdre and RickRock_777 you're all sooo great and to me this new sub-forum is a milestone in international friendship!

Many Greetings, Jürgen^^

This news thrills me! I would like to have a "redneck" forum called "Southern Comfort" and myself and Jerry The-Hog-Flu would be the mods. I don't guess we could have the rebel flag, but we'll come up with something. Maybe just a mudflap shaped flag with a big tire on it or something.

Thank you Folks for your great Work!
I'm here in this Community since almost three Years now and now you surprise me with this.

I love to speak english and i need the Practice, so i will creep around as usual, teasing my Bro and Stuff.
But it is very cool to have a shiny new german Subforum where we can discuss and chat without thinking over Translations.

Thanks Taffey and all who made that happen!

@RockSauron
Yes, I know from where you are coming from I think the main point is, we have here a brand new section in LBPC and there is lots to do to create it in a shiny great place for german speaking sackies.
I can speak english, not in the best way but I'm always trying to get better but here are sackies who are not able to understand english very well so we offer them to traslate all, questions, answers or tutorial help...for all who need english help for example or translate all items, we have in the LBP pop it from german to english and much more.
Simple thing, for a native speaker english, it is not so hard to use our forum level showroom but it is near impossible to post a level there if you're not speaking english very well.
Now all german sackies have the chance that someone of us translate the whole thread in english and the level can be post in the level showroom.
For me, it is a great honour, that I can help in the german sackies subforum. <3

Eh, just think it's a bit odd. I mean, I like the idea of the new forum, but the mod thing just seems weird.

... I'll be going now.

I feel sorry that you think so cause I'm so happy that the german sackies are welcome here and get the chance to get more involved. I <3 to help the community cause I know very well how it feels if you need help with logic in a level or if you have an issue, questions and much more but no idea how to ask or to understand the helping tutorial threads. One of the things, which makes me sad, from the first time as I sign in into this forum was, that I'm not able to write good reviews in the levelshowroom. I play a great level and be blast away but without great or blast I have no words to describe in detail what I like or not. Now I have the chance to get help and help others to feel more involved. It's way more fun if you can say what you think or get help to say what you think or ask what you need.2013-02-13 00:18:00

Both the English-speaking and German-speaking parts of the forum are now equal, so there.

Rock...something you may not have considered. All of the MODs selected have many real life jobs and are also very active Creators. Because of this, they have very limited time available to devote to being a full time MOD. It makes sense to have at least 4 to ensure their site related workload is not overwhelming.

@ Dini...congrats on being selected as a German Forum MOD.

Ha ha
I know what you mean

This amount of mods maybe is a little bit confusing, but we are at the beginning of constructing this Sub-Forum.
And this is so exiting for us: we really want to increase the amount of users from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. We are very thankful about the chance to let people, who are a little bit shy to write in english, be part of the LBPC family.
As Dini wrote, now they find easily one of the mods, who is able to translate their words.
At this moment aprox 20 - 25 users are browsing the german subforum. Thats a nice start, but be sure we want to get much more users here.
We will telling our friends about this wonderful place here and hope we have so much users soon, that we soon need another mod to handle it

Can we have a British forum please, where we can discuss things such as:

- Driving on the left hand side of the road
- FOOTball
- Lifts
- Pavements
- Escalators

Without having you pesky Yanks interfere.
