Hey guys, I decided to try bringing my (mostly dead) LittleBigPlanet tutorial series over to the Vita. The title of this thread will reflect which number tutorial has most recently been published. Without further ado, I present...

LBPlanetorials Vita - 01: Memorizers and App Style Games by comphermc

In celebration of releasing another app-style minigame for LBPVita (and also getting a quality video camera for Christmas), I thought I'd try my hand at making an LBPlanetorial for the Vita folk. Today I go over Memorizers and implementing a three-star system for app style games. In it, you'll also see a few additional tricks that I expect to be new to many creators. Enjoy!

nice tutorial, the only thing new to me is that ports with no inputs are not overwritten, in my own tutorial i had all other ports wired back into themselves as to not lose those values.....lol2013-02-04 03:45:00

I watched that video 6 hours ago, the last 6 hours I've been working on a app like level on my own. It's related to the famous addictinggames game "The Classroom"2013-02-04 04:09:00

Yeah, it will leave empty ports unchanged, but any hidden ports will be reset. If you trigger a 6-port Memorizer, the data stored in ports 7-32 will be reset.

LBPlanetorials Vita - 02: Touch Interaction by comphermc

First of all, really sorry about the quality. Getting the lighting right is not easy, and neither is keeping the zoom at the right level (I failed at that).

That said, today I illustrate how I would go about making simple Touch-based motifs with three examples: a spring launcher, a back-and-forth sliding platform, and a vertical sliding platform. The ideas are simple, but implementation can be a bit funky. Hence, the tutorial! Enjoy.

Wow just watched your second tutorial and I must admit it sounded quite simple at first but those tricks can really make the difference in making the level's touch obstacles' quality much better and enjoyable. Thanks as always!2013-02-28 03:20:00

These are pretty great! Also, what material did you use for the background? I don't recall having it in my Popit.2013-02-28 16:27:00

I don't recall the name, but it's from the Coaster Valley theme, and it is originally a different color (green maybe?). It's color-tweakable, so I just set it to purple.

It might be called something like "Craft Grid" or similar.

I smell something in here...
In the second tutorial, when your OH WHAT THE- you're making the third motif, you set the minimum lenght of the piston to 10 and it works normally, but doesn't the piston add 2.5 to everything?
Oh, and about the OCD sorta thing - Are you annoyed sometimes with the placement of logic in microchip? I doesn't happen really often that you come up with a straight wire when working with logic

Any more Vitorials coming out soon? I am hooked on your videos, but primarily playing Vita, I feel a bit left out
I would like a detailed and dedicated tutorial on various uses for Memorizers.
That is the subject I struggle the most with.
