High-Flying Weapon

I'm trying to build a UFO weapon that flies above the track, seeking the first-place racer and firing a beam at anyone unlucky enough to be beneath it.

I've built the UFO, but I can't get it to fly high enough above the track. I've tried using light beams and invisible force fields beneath it, but the UFO still goes low and skips across the ground. Any suggestions?

ok so i haven't made a weapon like this yet but i'mm make an educated guess: the weaponator tool itself must follow a weapon path so if you attach it to your UFO it will make the UFO follow that path, but if you create forcefield below it and attach the weaponator to that at the kind of height you are after i reckon you'll have much more luck.

for an example play this track https://karting.lbp.me/v/5rf1 you can win the weapon 'bombing run' which does almost exactly what you are describing, so win it and see how it was done. (it's not my track by the way)

I tried putting the weaponator on the forcefield; that gave me a skipping-across-the-ground effect. I even tried putting a smaller forcefield beneath the tall one and putting the weaponator down there. Same thing.

I'll check out that level. Thanks bunches!

I plan on electrifying the forcefield when a player gets near it. I'm going for sort of an "alien death-ray" effect.
