making an object rotate?

Archive: 5 posts

I will keep this short. How do I make an object rotate to face the direction my finger is touching on the screen?

Basically I have a hovering robot. When you touch the screen an aiming reticule comes up and once you let go it disappears. But what I want to do is that when I let go it shoots in that direction. I can do that but what I can't seem to do is making the object turn to face that direction....how? I need details. Do you use a bolt to attach the object? I've tried a few ways but nothing worked.

You need to use a look at rotator, then just set it to look where you touch.

Sorry if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain.

Making an object rotate on the axis of "finger touch" is quite simple, if you know about microchips. Logic is fairly easy to get the hang of and there are a lot of tutorials on the specifics and unspecific calcification. Are those words to fancy for you, sorry
Anyway this is how you do it:
Get a microchip from you gadgets bag, and assign the chip to your object.
Then get a holographic or invisible material object and draw a box around the object, make sure the box covers all areas on the screen in which you want the object to respond to "Finger touching".
Now assign a Microchip to the Box, for this thread I am going to call the box: "TouchFingerResponder"
Once the chip is on, open it up; Put a touch chip on it: REMEMBER do not put a Touch Cursor chip on, use the other touch chip.
Now "TouchFingerResponder" has a fancy chip on it, and it has the variable or function of touch respondent.
However work is not done, go the settings of the Touch chip, and make it so the radius is at 100.00 and that you switch on the variable of "Limit Radius to object" Once that is done, you are nearly finished.
Go to your "Object that you want to rotate" and the microchip that is assigned to that, then choose any outputs and inputs that suit your needs to complete the final touch.
Give it your own magical "TOUCH"

I will come to your moon or I will make the objects and send it to you
