Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know I just published my first track: Midnight Mad Dash (https://karting.lbp.me/v/8czh). I hope you all enjoy, feel free to give me any feedback and or report any issues with the track. | 2013-02-01 21:32:00 Author: Shamanate Posts: 26 |
Heyo Shama, Went to queue up your level and got a "the Creator of this level has chosen not to publish their information to the web" message. You may want to check your privacy settings for lbp.me. | 2013-02-01 22:34:00 Author: waffleking23 Posts: 535 |
Thanks for reminding me of that, I have changed the privacy settings and you should be able to queue now. Thanks again! | 2013-02-02 01:07:00 Author: Shamanate Posts: 26 |
Just played this and it was really, really fun. Lots of speed on the track, a good mix of jumps and driftable areas for boosts. The custom speed booster was a nice touch, though i wondered why you hadn't done something similar with the weaponizers as well. The only very slight complaint i might have is that it can be pretty tough to get into the branched route (with the giant chainsaw thing) without hitting the wall and losing speed...though i think that may be entirely on my driving skill, as opposed to your design. One thing i wanted to particularly point out was the setting & presentation here (something that has been a bit of a hobgoblin for me since back in LBP1). i think you did a really great job of making the scenery (a) well developed and knit together, and (b) close without making the track feel crowded. Something i've noticed with a lot of online tracks i've played (including mine, shamefully enough) is how empty and kinda disconnected from a world they can feel. There was nothing like that feeling with yours. A great, fun job, und zo a well deserved heart and thumbs-upskis. | 2013-02-02 01:54:00 Author: waffleking23 Posts: 535 |
Awesome, I am really glad you liked it. I will definitely take a look at the branch and see if I can make it a little bit more accessible. Thanks a lot for the play and all the great comments/suggestions. | 2013-02-02 05:53:00 Author: Shamanate Posts: 26 |
Great level, love the circular saw and the huge amount of detail. My only quibble, and it's a minor thing, is that the short-cut is a little TOO short; even hitting the sawblade I still managed to make up places on the karts going the main way, making that whole section of track a little moot. EDIT: As a possible way of overcoming this, you could add another saw right at the entrance to the shortcut, blocking it off at certain intervals. | 2013-02-06 01:47:00 Author: Unknown User |
