Archive: 7 posts

Okay so I noticed that in like most levels that they have a stripy border around the edge like this: http://lbp.me/v/hrrn3y

Anyone have any Ideas I'd love to know!

It's just part of the badge, it's part of the sticker itself.

As for setting it up, open up a new Empty Level on your moon.
I like to start creating my badges by placing a circle of material down, and on that, placing a battery and a Movie Cam. Wire the Battery into the Cam, and set the cam so that the circle is perfectly in the middle of the shot. When you enter Play Mode, the camera instantly turns on, showing you the circle. Then you can use the Take Photo option to grab a perfectly framed shot of the circle.
Ensure that the Circle cannot move by either making it out of Light/Dark Matter or sticking an Anti Grav on it.

Go back to Create Mode, and try using that new Sticker you've made as the level badge. How is the framing? Keep that Circle of material, as you'll be using it as a guide while you set up your proper sticker. Use that base circle to work out how much of a border you want, and where the text/objects within your badge should be placed. You can enter Play Mode and grab a screenshot as many times as you need to.

For setting up your stripey border, the best way to do it is to place another circle of material, then cut a circle out of the middle.
So, press X for your material, pull the R Stick down a bit, then press Triangle.
Then use the Slice And Dice Tool to cut each stripe out. Start from an inside corner, then drag to the corresponding outside corner.
Then just sticker each segment, or turn the object into Neon/StickerPanel/OtherTweakableMaterial and colour your stuff that way.

Sorted.

I didn't think of doing it that way, thanks. I've been painstakingly setting up a scene then trying to take a pic in create mode by positioning the camera frame in the centre of the scene. I dunno if it's my controller or a problem in the game, but when I bring up the box to position the camera frame, it doesn't stay static, it drifts.

I don't think that's just your controller, it happens to me too. Same thing happens when placing stickers as well as taking photos.

There used to be a real nice level badge template level that you could copy. I tried searching for it on LBP.me, but I couldn’t find the one I have on my moon. If I find the level link, I’ll post it here. In short, it has a couple of nice templates and plenty of notes to help walk you thru the whole process. Good luck!2013-02-05 18:55:00

I found a level some time ago that gave away that "stripy border" badge template. Will see if I can locate it sometime. In the mean time, here is another level badge maker level. http://lbp.me/v/00nrcz2013-02-10 14:03:00
