A bit of help with brains.
Archive: 8 posts
I've seen various times in LBP that after a boss's brains have popped, it goes into a different "stage", so to speak. AFAIK, brains are not switches, and so pretty much you can't connect them to anything (You can connect switchees to the brain, but not vice versa) So how is this accomplished? | 2009-01-21 00:21:00 Author: Astrosimi Posts: 2046 |
I think the brains are attached to a piece of dissolve with a magnet key on it, with an inverted magnet key near by. So when the brain's popped it would dissolve and make the permanent switch activate. | 2009-01-21 00:36:00 Author: Trap_T Posts: 431 |

The only way I see it "trigger" something is that when the creature or creature part is dissolved, it dissolve a mag key at the same making some inverted mag switch to activate. EDIT: Oh wait, I guess we are saying the same thing... :/ | 2009-01-21 00:48:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |

Yeah thats probably how they do it, and then there is only the last one (/ones) which are actually connected to the boss. | 2009-01-21 16:26:00 Author: Marklin80 Posts: 458 |
I'm going to go ahead and bump this with another question. I have a piece of metal with a brain on it. On this piece of metal I put a paint switch. How would I have to make it so after I shoot the paint switch, the brain would die and the metal dissapears? | 2009-01-26 02:51:00 Author: Astrosimi Posts: 2046 |

You need to set the paint switch to one-shot and attach it to the brain. I've never done it myself, but that's how I hear it works. | 2009-01-26 03:18:00 Author: Elbee23 Posts: 1280 |

I'v been trying to do this with my monsters in the level Im working on.. but the paint switch won't pop the **** brains! | 2009-01-26 03:40:00 Author: Trap_T Posts: 431 |
the paint switch MUST be set to one shot, otherwise you are turning it on/off when you activate the paint switch. Paint switches can be attached to destructible or indestructible brains with the same effects (brain goes pop) this can be especially helpful if you want to force a player to destroy the enemy via the paint switch. Also keep in mind a brain turns anything its attached to, (even via ropes/pistons/winches etc) into a giant dissolvable creature, so that when the brain pops the whole thing disappears regardless of what its made out off. So to recap, since I tend to ramble when I'm in a hurry: Paint switches need to be set to one shot in order to destroy a brain Destructible or Indestructible brains can be destroyed this way Destroying all of a creatures brains will dissolve anything attached to that creature | 2009-01-26 20:52:00 Author: Trader Sam Posts: 92 |
