What console will LBP 3 be released on?

Archive: 24 posts

I think it will most likely come to the PS4 because it is expected to come Christmas 2013. If so, can you guys also make it for Ps3 too?2013-01-26 02:26:00

What kind of answer are you actually expecting anybody to give you?

Ya know it's totally impossible to guess when a game is going to be released on whatever system when that game has not even been said it is being made in the first place.

If you want just pure guesses... If so then we already have other similar topics for that floating around this forum.

If you want actual information about LBP3. then sorry, because there is none to give. When LBP3 is really coming.. believe me you'll know about it. it won't be something you'll have to ask about to know. *mew

But there's no rush. we may get a LBP3 someday... but why does it really matter? just enjoy the LBP games that are already out until then. *mew

Well, I don't think there will be LBP3...
I'm sure that when the PS4 come out, there will be a new LBP, but it won't be called LittleBigPlanet 3. Just LittleBigPlanet.

I guess it would be released on the PS4. The PS3 doesn't need LBP3
And believe me, it won't happen in a long time..

This is the second time I've seen you post this information as fact... credible source or it didn't happen.

MM has said that they aren't going to focus on LBP anymore, because Sony gave them their own creative freedom to make whatever game they want. So, there's a good chance that there won't be an LBP3, unless Tarsier makes it.

Tarsier did awesome with LBPV, but since a lot of people still don't own vita's, it's community isn't that big. I think Tarsier would be perfect to MAKE LBP3.

But anyway, I doubt that it would be on the PS3, because if they ARE announcing the PS4 soon, and they still haven't announced an LBP3, that would mean they still have quite a bit of the game to make.

You asked if they could make it on PS4 and PS3. No, they wouldn't. The PS4's power would make that version of the game way better. Also, the PS4 would be Sony's new system, so they would stop bringing game to the PS3.

Why can't we stop thinking about LBP3 when we know they won't make it?

And why can't MM, or Sony I guess, just keep adding big patches so we get more and more easier ways to create?

On a Tearaway interview they said they gave Littlebigplanet to a different company. Credible source for you.

And theres now like.. 20 people or something from the community who are actively making and building the future of LittleBigPlanet"

...That doesn't mean there's gonna be a LBP3. 'The future of LittleBigPlanet' is probably referring to updates, community management, DLCs, and stuff like that.

Your source does not prove that Mm has a lbp team at all... it is simply referring to the people who were chosen and spread between many Sony studios such as Tarsier, Double 11 or UFG. It also doesn't say they are working on the games themselves... We already know that at least 3 from that 20 (or so) are community managers, one for each studio perviously mentioned, so they are physically not making new content but simply attempting to keep the community together and active.

That being said, it is possible they have a lbp3 team considering they have a secret project which could still truthfully support their claim that they were taking a "break" from lbp via tearaway... but without any evidence to support this we simply cannot claim it to be fact.

Well this is one pie in the sky thread I can get on board with

I'd very much like to see a brand new instalment in the franchise and considering the PS4 is incoming and LBP2 was already battling hardware limitations, it wouldn't be much of a leap to expect(/hope/wish) a future LBP title on the PS4.

I'd also be more than happy to see the Vita team take the lead on it if MM want to shift focus. They did a great job on LBPV, there's signs everywhere that it was made with passionate people with many - sometimes subtle - additions like being able to give the impression something is slightly pushed forward or back within a layer or such a handy tool like dephysicalise. It's actually dinged my ps3 creativity, other than now feeling like I'm playing on a cinema sized screen when I do turn on LBP2, I really miss the added functionality the Vita has.

Honestly, there's still plenty of community requested functionality, like officially supported extra layers (if only for aesthetic purposes). Fresh coat of paint, bang, bestseller ready to go. Be mad not to =]

I dunno, just the Vita features plus official 50 layer support doesn't add up to enough to warrant LBP3, IMHO. But Tarsier does seem like a good candidate for LBP3. Mm always gave me the impression that the secret other project was new IP. LBP3 would be a third project then.2013-02-06 15:10:00

Well I hope you didn't misunderstand when I mentioned one of the many outstanding requested features to justify another LBP!

Although, as it happens, even with just that and actually getting all the vita functions (maybe even including touch! Rumour has it (sing it!) the controllers may come with touch functionality). Imagine a graphically beefed up LBP with the best of everything come together, with no doubt something new to the mix. I for one would be all over that Maybe I'm biased (I think when you own the mug and the tshirts and the teddy you need to admit you might be a tad biased....)

Rumor: LittleBigPlanet 3 is in development at Sonic All-Stars dev Sumo Digital

LittleBigPlanet 3 is rumored to be in development at British studio and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed dev Sumo Digital. VG247 is reporting that, according to sources, Sony and former series developer Media Molecule approached Sumo Digital to make LBP 3, and that the game, which has yet to be announced, has already been in development for "well over a year." Upon inquiry, a Sony representative told the site that it "doesn't comment on rumor or speculation."

When approached on the matter, a Sumo Digital representative told Joystiq, "No comment."

LittleBigPlanet 2's Cross-Controller Pack, released in December 2012, was outsourced to Sumo Digital, so the developer has hands-on experience with the property. Also, as spotted by superannuation last April, motion graphics artist Naomi Summerscales' LinkedIn profile noted the developer is working on a PS3 exclusive to be released this year.

Media Molecule is now working on Vita papercraft game Tearaway, having announced it was stepping away from LittleBigPlanet back in July 2011.

I remember when a lot of games were for both Ps3 and Ps2 such as The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, Nfs Carbon, Nfs Most Wanted, Nfs Undercover, etc. They did this for about a year or two before they stopped making Ps2 games. Maybe Lbp 3 may end up on both systems for a little while.

While third parties will do both during a transitional period Sony won't. They'll either do one last PS3 game to cash in on the user base or make it for PS4 only to encourage people to buy the new system

I don't really have an opinion on the rumors. RIght now they are just that; rumors. I just thought I'd share that article I found since I hadn't seen it posted anywhere else yet (though I could have missed it).

Of course, we MAY find out on the 20th right? Who knows?
