Oh, well this looks neat. A well constructed level thread for an intriguing level, you've already got me convinced, dude. ^^ I'm afraid I've never played the original "Progress Emporium" nor do I have LBPK to play "Future Perfect." So while I can't relate to past levels that seem to be related to this one, hopefully it's still okay for me to be the first here to throw a review out there for this level. (Fair warning though, when I review levels, I play them while I review them. This allows me to squeeze in as many thoughts and details about the level I can, but the consequences to this strategy is that I might make numerous grammar/punctuation mistakes and switch back and forth from past and present tense. So please try to ignore those inconsistencies, and I hope this review is helpful!)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Swirling into the level, my player pops out of a rocket ship in Teacup forest. (That's what I'm calling it, at least.) I'm not sure what to make of the music, except for that it's totally awesome and props to Mr. Unknown Guy for his masterful work. It's retro, silly, cheery, and curious all at the same time. If I keep it up stopping to listen to the rad rollercoaster that could've totally shown up in an early 2000's platformer, it's just going to an end up completely stuck in my brain. Little things like fitting in the introductory checkpoint as a circular window on a rocket ship as well as the rising smoke of warm teacups and slight wiggling movements of nearby rocketships give it some style, and that's nice. The wacky picture frames and blue square clouds hung up by strings reflects a nice, silly attitude

Here are a few miniscule complaints/suggestions I'll offer that I noticed around the beginning, but they're real tiny so if you don't feel the need to make the changes, that's fine. I just want to throw them out there for the sake of being a critic. I like some of the colorful stickers you've chosen to lay around the level, although it's easy to see that the rocket ships pink wings and the blue part of the background building right over to the intro rocket ships right are made of cardboard. Again, this is a very small complaint, but when stickering these kinds of objects where you'd use cardboard, I recommend using "Blue Wood" instead. It's a handy dandy material that when stickered, doesn't end up showing an abundance of tape pieces on the material like Cardboard does in this case. Another would be for the city stickers you put on cardboard and then, I assume, "sticker cut." This is a good-looking tool that I'm sure helps cutting around a sticker, but if I were you, I'd try corner editing them so you don't leave any excess cardboard, although if it were to be completely cardboard-free, it would probably look best if the object was made thin instead of one-layered. That's your call though, and it's not a big deal in the end.

Jogging through the opening of the level, I did notice that some of the stickers appeared a bit blurry, and the trees as well as a few maybes maybe don't resonate as well as they maybe could. It doesn't seem like global lighting or regular lighting wasn't a prime focus for this level, and that's fine, although when I first jumped into the level, the very beginning did have a bit of a dull feeling, which is odd, although the feeling faded away pretty quickly for me, and could be my brain messing with me. If you or others share a similar feeling though, I'd try some experimenting. Maybe darken certain objects with certain shading stickers, brighten some parts up with lights, or ever so slightly alter the light of the background sky so it's not that oh-so bright blue glaring down on the level. Continuing onward, I run into who seems to be the main character to listen to the level, Don Doubtworhy. It's clear a lot of work went into designing the fellow, so great work on that. The suit and tie are great, as is that big-chinned head of his. Adding some motion to his body and teeth really enlivens the character, and the dialogue is so nonsensical and simply great. This guy's a keeper, that's for sure.

After a nice conversation with Mr. Doubtworhy, a thrilling race began making interesting use of the classic tethered jetpack. While I don't play a lot of LBP2 levels, it's easy to see many creators have left behind this old tool, but it was hung onto for a reason, and you clearly showed it. You've added in some nice uses of the ancient power-up, such as a jetpack placed over a powerup remover for short bursts that fling you over, as well as jetpacks that use its tether to latch onto you and kill you as it drops back down into the fire below you. (similar to a classic LBP1 minigame by LittleBigDude805 called "Hungry Hoppers (LBW5).") It's good to see you didn't go overboard with making decorations too large where it distracts from the level design, although it might be nice to throw a few more flowers/nature decos besides the pink flower one. The use of gears placed behind checkpoints and in other areas look nice. The fast motion with one jetpack that hurls you under a bunch of electrified cans is awesome, and I really liked the cable car system you had built in the background of the level design. The shiny arrows and trashcan lid decos are nice, although the case of blurry stickers can still be found some with white chalk stickers put over buildings. The sound effects work nicely, from every boing to every shock. There was never really a moment where I longed for more sound (and that might be thanks to the music as well) and yet nowhere where a tune or beat felt out of place.

The use of 3D is fine, although sometimes it might feel unnecessary as when I try seeing what's hiding behind, I see..well, kitchen appliances. That might have just been a design choice though since there's cheese, milk bottles and milk cartons visible through the main level design, plus I guess it helps make for an even wackier environment. It does work well too in some situations, although as I got further into the level, I could see that the background sky was a darker blue than at the beginning. I'm not sure if the lighting changed without me knowing or part of the 3D background made the sky appear lighter at first or darker later. If the bright, bright sky at the beginning was due to the 3D effect, it might be nice to keep it shown as dark as it is later on, although that's just my opinion.

No glitches were found during the playthrough of this level.

TL;DR...

Pros
--------
1. A real wacky level design that implements some nice uses of what felt like a left-behind powerup.
2. Don Doubtworhy is a fantastic character with a great design and his nonsensical babbletalk is just great.
3. Some of the objects are added in well, such as shiny arrows, empty milk bottles, and checkpoint/moving gears.
4. That anonymous music maker's got some talent, that opening song was great, and the official piece that replaced it for the race was great as well.
5. An apt selection of sound effects, if I do say so myself.

Cons
--------
1. Blurred stickers and lack of proper detail/lighting on certain objects cast a slight "dull effect" in the opening sequence, but only for some parts... although that might be my mind playing tricks on me a little.

Overall, a fun and wacky race level that reminded me of other crazy creators such as Mnniska. It was a lot of fun to play this level, as well as to review it. I hope you enjoyed the review, and hopefully none of my comments are taken the wrong way either.
