I Make Music: My Youtube and Soundcloud

Archive: 11 posts

Since I got GarageBand, I have been able to make even higher quality music.
I post my music on YouTube and SoundCloud:

Subscribe and Follow for the free music I make. It's hard for me to get my music noticed, so I posted it here to get some more people to listen.

Here is my newest beat:

I thought it was pretty good, and I hope you do too.

Nice to see I'm not the only one into music creation (though I don't have anything posted on my youtube atm, I have been working on songs). If you ever desire a music creation tool that's more powerful than garage band I would defiantly recommend FL Studio. It's a bit of a hassle to run it on mac, but google is your best friend 2013-01-31 02:31:00

Keep it up! Music doesn't get nearly the appreciation it deserves, where unlike text or imagery the audience has to commit time and attention via other senses and usually unfairly expect it to click instantly on some emotional level that's very rare with just audio. Plus, so few listeners care how much work goes into composition.

Don't be discouraged, you've got all the skills and the tools, and I hope you derive satisfaction from simply creating the music.

I haven't been there for over a decade but I know Acidplanet was a nice community where people reviewed and listened to each other constantly and being active led to quite a lot of recognition. Sony bought software and rebranded a bit, but you don't actually need to create with Sony software to upload there.

About "Ride - Rap Beat"
The way you walk up the melody reminds me a lot of the music from the "Red Dress" scene in the original Matrix. ["Clubbed to Death" by Rob Dougan] This makes it familiar, in a good way. It definitely has that "composed in software" sound but it is also definitely composed which I appreciate. Creation from scratch gets respect.

Pump up the bass if you can! It may require going outside of Garageband and using equalizer software, etc. Get extreme! Post-process that stuff out the behind!

Thanks! I have Audacity too, so maybe I should run my song through Audacity. I don't know If I should sepend more money on FL! when I just bought GarageBand. But I do have the free version of FL Studio. I might try using it.2013-02-13 03:18:00

Yeah, FL Studio does cost a pretty penny, but its worth the money IMO. You can check out the (2) songs my two-man band made with it on our youtube channel here (http://www.youtube.com/user/AnoxiaTheBand/videos?view=0&flow=grid) if you want.2013-02-16 01:55:00

Sweet! Im on my vita so I cant check out your songs, but Ill be sure to when I get the chance. Ive pumped out a lot of songs since my last post (you can check them out @ http://soundcloud.com/anoxiatheband) and kicked out my other band member (he never did anything). Having said that, I CANT recommend FL Studio enough, its just such genious software . Ive gotten a lot more experienced with it, and it kicks @$$ imo. Hope you try out the demo, you can make full songs with it for as long as you want so long as you make them in one go (no opening project files)

EDIT:
2 things I forgot to say:

1) If you dont want to spend the money on FL, LMMS is a good free alternative
2) Holy crud! 47 Soundclud followers? HOW? I cant seem to get people to find my SC, and none of my songs have more than 30 views :/
