Synchronizing Sounds
Archive: 7 posts
Is there a way for multiple sound switches to be played in synchronized manner if you use more than one switch. Want I want to do is create a switch that plays two switches with a pause in between them with the pause always being the same length. I don't want to have to use a vehicle to accomplish this. thanks in advance | 2009-01-20 22:40:00 Author: mhzinski Posts: 6 |
Maybe a series of pistons and Magnetic Key Switches? | 2009-01-20 23:20:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
Maybe a series of pistons and Magnetic Key Switches? That would be the way I would do it. | 2009-01-21 00:21:00 Author: Voltiare Posts: 646 |
You activate a switch which pushes a slowish moving piston on directional. On that piston is a magnetic key. Close to the start but out of the initial range is a mag switch which fires the first sound. When the piston gets further on, it fires the second sound. That theory can be stretches out to as big as the game will let it. It's like a basic music level except with a piston instead of a vehicle. | 2009-01-21 01:33:00 Author: Elbee23 Posts: 1280 |
That seems like an excellent and simple idea, if I wanted to make it invisible, should I just move up my background and put that system behind it, or would I be able to make that piece of material the key is attached to invisible, or just really tiny. | 2009-01-21 01:59:00 Author: mhzinski Posts: 6 |
Well, you could make it tiny... but remember that the sound device the magnetic switch is attached to can be made invisible and put close to the player, just stretch the wires out away from the timing mechanism itself. That should help keep the sound close while keeping the mechanisms out of sight. | 2009-01-21 02:05:00 Author: Elbee23 Posts: 1280 |

It sounded like a ship xD I used 2 same sounds, but one had i higher tone... | 2009-01-21 06:03:00 Author: Yarbone Posts: 3036 |
