Its REALLY time for some new instruments

Archive: 4 posts

Player created music has felt dated on LBP. As much as I love playing community levels, I've noticed the similar instruments seem to work well with one another, and most musicians tend to stick to those. Leaving majority of the music heard over community levels feeling very runintogether. Usually genres can be narrowed down to either being retro/electric/synthed or some kind of zen/tranquil-esque inspired.
Great artists can hit all the right notes, but comparing different renown artist's music side by side. They all start to sound like they're from the same artist, because they are so similar in format.

These are just a few I came up with off the top of my head.

Flute
Saxophone
Bagpipe
Organ
Ukulele
Piccolo
Cello
Harmonica
Banjo
Ocarina
Mandolin

As far as I can work with the current instruments, none of them sound like ones listed above.

I feel that the glass harmonica from the move pack sounds a lot like an organ, though not entirely. It's probably the closest we'll get.2013-01-25 03:29:00

I think, although this might be implausible, that we should have a single voice. Like, not a choir, but a single voice. And you could have a bunch of tweaks to affect it.2013-01-25 13:59:00

not sure how implausible this would actually be. I mean, we already have it to where you can record voices on here. (though to add it to music, I just dunno) The choir effect we already have honestly sounds cheap. Like a late 90's synthesizer. Better voices are needed in general.
