You usually need a capture device of some sort. It isn't just a software program. The problem is, the higher the desired quality the more expensive the device. One of the standards for quite awhile has been the HD PVR from Hauppauge. They have a new one called the HD PVR2 that looks promising as well. There is another new one I have seen recently that someone here mentioned at LBPC that looked pretty cool, but most of them that record in HD are in the $160 - $180 range. There are less expensive solutions like Dazzle, but to my knowledge they don't do high quality captures. | 2013-01-23 15:37:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
See for me, one of the main reasons I stuck with console gaming is they're so much easier to set up and run. Put game disc in console, start playing. So as keen as I am to jump on the recording thing, I always get put off by the fact that it's likely to give me a serious headache setting it up. I'm probably worrying about nothing, but for me I would prefer to see it set up and run in person before jumping on. I've played certain PC games and have struggled with finding the right patch download and putting it in the correct folder, so it doesn't inspire much confidence. | 2013-01-23 16:00:00 Author: LieutenantFatman Posts: 465 |

Well.. unfortunately you need a capture device of some sort for a console. With a pc, many games it is built in or you just need some software to help you capture. | 2013-01-23 17:28:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Hauppauge and Elgato are the high end mainstream brands, they are quite expensive but most recommended for top quality, direct HDMI capture at 1080 resolution. There are a variety of cheap RGB cable capture devices that will connect your PS3 to your laptop. I bought the I-O DATA USB video capture device. However I don't know if it's available outside of Japan. It also captures at lower quality since it's not a digital signal. I-O Data USB Amazon.co.jp for 3,500 yen (about $40 USD) (http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language/product/B00428BF1Y/ref=dp_change_lang?ie=UTF8&language=en_JP) | 2013-01-24 02:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
I recommend Elgato Game Capture HD! It's very easy to setup, it has all the cables needed are in the box. However you do need a VERY FAST computer and here are the specs that your computer needs: System Requirements Mac: OS X 10.7 or newer, 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU PC: Windows 7 or newer, 2.0 GHz dual core CPU, sound card 4 GB RAM, built-in USB 2.0 port | 2013-01-24 04:36:00 Author: CodemanPSX Posts: 147 |
