Super Switch Brainstorming

Archive: 6 posts

So I kind of have some thoughts about some crazy parts of switches... And would like to brainstorm with the other switch masters about ways these little tricks could be implimented...

For example, pistons and chains can be hooked onto the sponge part of a 2way or 3way switch.

Objects will push buttons and such.

So on. I'm wondering what kind of crazy specialty switches we could do using these interesting gimmicks. I feel there is so much possibilities we can explore with lbp...

Here's one concept...

How about a button you need to hit a certain amoujnt of times? Hook it up to an emmiter that emits paintballs that fall down onto a stack of blocks with paintball switches.

After the paintball falls 10 times and destroys the stack one at a time, it hits last switch activating door.

Or, now that we've discovered the amount of weight of a sackperson, how about make pressure system floors.

I want to try making a light up floor where the block your standing on lights up, things like that, really complex out of the box stuff. Just start brainstorming off of each other.

How do you even emit paintballs? havent seen that yet..

You could use "suicide blocks". These are dissolve blocks with a magnetic sensor on them, tied to themselves. They also have a different color magnetic key on them so they can trigger others.

Works like this: build a stack of blocks (say 10), all have a RED mag. switch on them and a BLUE magnetic key. The switch is tied to the block itself. Everytime you hit something or want to trigger it, emit a suicide block with a BLUE mag. switch and a RED magnetic key on top of the stack. This wil destroy exactly 1 of the stack. Continue to the bottom where you put a RED magnetic switch (or an inverted blue one) tied to the action you want after 10 hits.

Suicide blocks are pretty usefull for about anything if you can get your head around it.

You can emit paintballs by using "pause" mode. Put a paintinator powerup in the level then shoot (you can be in pause mode and shoot or shoot then pause). The paintball should be in the air now... Capture it and tada! You have a paintball, or paintballs if you'd like, to use at your will.

If you want to view some switches I made for another thread called alternating switches then search for me LordCanti07 or search for Just An Example. It features what I think of as a super switch.2009-01-22 04:44:00
