Hello LBPC!

Hello LBPC! My screen name is DistantWords, you can call me DW if you want. As my lbp.me profile says, I love LBP! I'm not very good at it, but I still love it!

I am a husband and father of 3, and my entire household loves LBP as well. I own all the games (LBP, LBP PSP, LBP2, LBPV & LBPK) but I'd say I love 2 and Vita the most. The Vita version is great IMO, except for online; I can't get a good connection to save my life!

I love creating, but most of my time is spent just messing around. I've only created one actual "story" type level, before I even finished LBP2, and it turned out... Meh. I over reached and didn't do some things right, so by the end the thermo was to the top and I couldn't edit one part without effecting the whole thing lol. Live and learn right?

Currently I am working on a LBP2 level for my youngest who can't quite play story levels yet (she's 5). I'm trying to make it fun, easy but somewhat challenging; mostly just a very slight push to do more than walk and jump.

I'm also sort of working on a Vita level, a Vs. shooter based on Unreal Tournament's "Domination" mode (from the first UT game). It's on a back burner right now though since I can't connect to anyone anyway at the moment...

Well, I think that's the basic gist. I look forward to meeting new people, and watching more of the fantastic tutorials on here! I've already watched a handful and they blew my mind!!!

Welcome to LBPC! This is a great place to be for any aspiring LBP creator. We have tons of tutorials, tips&tricks and even more knowledgeable individuals that would love to get you on the path to creative stardom! It would be great if you could submit your creations into the showcase so that our spotlight team can sink their fangs into them ^.^

That is awesome that you all love LBP in your household and so cool you get to share that with your kids!

..also feel free to post any of your levels in the Level Showcase. You can get some great feedback to help you grow as a creator. Feel free to ask any questions if you get stuck here!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Right now I don't have anything worthy of showing off, my currently published levels are like 95% self taught knowledge (LBP2 and LBPV). Only looked on the net when I hit a wall, and I simply googled the specific problem and found the solution. While I am proud of what I figured out on my own, I'm now wishing I knew then what I know now (and plan to learn soon lol).

What you said about pride in solving your own problems resonates deeply with my own creative experieneces in LBP.
Its a great feeling once it all comes together! AAAHHHH just thinking about it makes me hyped to work on some projects

Howdy and welcome to LBPC. So glad you joined. This is really a great place to be. It's an awesome place to make new friends, learn techniques and tricks and just to have a good time. To help you explore the site I'll provide a few links for you.


The Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase) area is the place you want to go to make a thread about your level. We have an optional F4F (feedback for feedback) system where you tell others to check out your level, come back and give feedback/suggestions and you'll do the same for them. It's a valuable system that is underused here. Be sure to use the LBP.me tool (the white bell in a blue box icon) http://www.lbpcentral.com/images/lbpme.png this will pull your level info from LBP.me and place it in the thread for you. NOT WORKING RIGHT NOW
Before posting your awesome creation in the level showcase, please read this handy dandy guide. It will help your get more attention to your thread and your level.
