Basically, Double Fine is only interested in the rights to their own games, so they could do whatever they want with them in the future. Besides, wouldn't you rather Double Fine make NEW gems in the future, rather than merely polishing someone else's work? I can't say I've ever played any of their games, but I know I'd want my favorite developers to work on their own ideas instead of other people's stuff.

One German site (http://www.gamersglobal.de/news/63674/thq-verkauf-sega-kauft-relic-koch-evolve-crytek-homefront) seems to be on the ball, suggesting that SEGA have bought Relic and Company of Heroes (for $26million), Koch Media have bought Evolve (for $5.2million) and Crytek have snapped up the Homefront license (for half a million dollars). At the moment it appears that Volition (with Saints Row, surely one of the most lucrative franchises currently on offer), Vigil and Metro: Last Light haven’t been sold yet. So Darksiders didn't get any bids... Shame. While the second game had too much loot, had a lackluster second half, and I loathed the story, it was pretty much the only action-adventure game in the vein of Zelda out there. :/

Assets Majority of Titles, Studios Expected to Continue Development with Financial Backing of New Owners AGOURA HILLS, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– THQ Inc. (OTC: THQIQ), a leading worldwide developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, today announced that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court has granted a motion to approve a sale of the majority of THQ’s assets to multiple buyers. The company expects the Court to enter a formal order tomorrow. The Court approved the sales of three of THQ’s owned studios and games in development, as well as Evolve, a working title under development at Turtle Rock Studios, Homefront 2, Metro: Last Light and South Park: The Stick of Truth. Under the terms of the agreements with the successful and approved bidders, the THQ estate will receive approximately $72 million, making the total estimated value of the estate $100 million including certain assets and other intellectual properties which were excluded from the sale. The Court approved the sale of Relic Studios to Sega Corporation for $26.6 million; the sale of Volition Inc. and Metro: Last Light to Koch Media GmbH for $22.3 million and $5.9 million, respectively; the sale of Homefront 2 to Crytek GmbH for $0.5 million; the sale of Evolve to Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. for $10.9 million; and the sale of THQ Montreal and South Park: The Stick of Truth to Ubisoft LLC for $2.5 million and $3.3 million, respectively. I'm positive that Homefront will do good in the hands of rytek, since they perfected the Crysis series (although I absolutely HATE Crysis 2) Homefront 2 is being developed by Crytek UK, they did the multiplayer for Crysis 2 and 3 as well as the Timesplitters series and Haze back when they were Free Radical. It looks like Cryteks bid on the homefront IP was a bit of an insurance policy, it's enough to protect the year+ of work they have already done (at THQs expense) if there's no other bids (which turned out to be the case) and also low enough to have been outbid if there was any other interest in the IP.

THQ has announced that it will be auctioning off the intellectual property rights for a large portion of its back catalogue, including Darksiders, Red Faction and Homeworld. Thank god. Really really hope Darksiders goes to a good home. Anyone have any ideas for what dev would be a good fit? I'd like to say Sony Santa Monica but that's probably wishful thinking given the similarities in genre to God of War. I heard Platinum were interested but after seeing what they did to Rising I don't really wanna see them... I won't say destroy... but completely misdirect another favourite series, spin-off or no.

Looks like THQ stuff is being Pulled from some webstores Was this brought up yet? Space Marine, de Blob 2 and Red Faction Guerrilla can no longer be found on the EU webstore. I expect the same to happen on US PSN as well, so if you have any interest in at least RFG or de Blob 2 better grab them US PSN asap as I expect the same to happen there. No details have been provided by Nintendo, so it's unclear whether this was a Nintendo decision or something enforced externally.
