2D Level creation?
Archive: 7 posts
I am in the process of making a pretty cool level on LBPV, but for it to work the camera needs to be front view only during game play. How do I lock the camera on front view? I am sure that it is possible, because some user levels I have played have utilized this style. Many thanks in advance. | 2013-01-22 03:27:00 Author: Unknown User |
Place a movie camera and set flatness to 5. Then, have the camera follow sackboy using a follower and a piece of hologram. | 2013-01-22 03:46:00 Author: Ryan86me Posts: 1909 |
Yeah, what Ryan86me said. Im currently working on a flat 2D Level... (if u use sackbots u can just have a movie camera in their controllinator) I got a problem with the level, cause everytime u die u see the 3D enviroment till u respawn, and the funny thing is if the fyling hologram is near a cp its working, if u are too far away from a cp, it just will stay where u died and keep the actual frame... i saw this in lvls where it keeps the flat 2D view, all the time, even if u die... how did they make this? i really tried things out.... And how do u get the 2d Flat View to work in multiplayer with independed camera views? its possible somehow, i played a level with it. | 2013-01-22 17:44:00 Author: Rough-Tea Posts: 422 |
i saw this in lvls where it keeps the flat 2D view, all the time, even if u die... how did they make this? i really tried things out.... Hmm... I lost my copy of LBP Vita (tear), so I can't test it out, but... try this: 1.Set tags on all of your spawn points and label them the same. 2.Erase the camera on the sackbot, and place a different tag with a different label instead. 3.Put a microchip on a piece of hologram, and set a 2-way selector on it. 4.Wire the first selector output to a follower set to follow the sackbot's tag. 5.Wire the other output to a follower set to follow the spawn points' tag (so it will follow the nearest one). 6.Place a player sensor, set the sensing range to infinite. 7.Wire the sensor to the first selector input. 8.Wire the sensor to a not gate, and wire the not gate's output to the selector's second input. 9.Set both of the followers to full speed. 10.Place your movie camera on the hologram, and make sure everything's invisible. I think this will work, so test it out and let me know. As for the multiplayer thing, I would need to find LBP Vita and play around with create to try and create something like that. EDIT: If you're not using sackbots, modify the follower on #4 to follow sackboy. Forgot to include that. | 2013-01-22 20:39:00 Author: Ryan86me Posts: 1909 |
Wow thx... gonna try around with that.... just wanna get this thing working in mp too than.. i tried it out today and the camera was just allways on one person... and it seemed like the holograms, allthough with player sensors Player 1 - 4 put on them... and with the follower set to a specific player... it follows around randomly.... i know that because only one follower (for player1) got a special feature and it changed its player if one died. I got this working in one level, but here if u die it randomly chooses any player. Hope u find your copy back man. Edit: So, thx, alot i got it working... its actually a real clear description u gave me there.... and its very logical too lol, i could have thought of this myself.. lol but now theres really just the problem with the multiplayer... i really got no idea atm how to do this... its seems impossible to get independed views with movie cameras... but i dont know yet how to exactly realize this in mp... hmm... have to try around some more i guess. | 2013-01-23 12:43:00 Author: Rough-Tea Posts: 422 |
About the multiplayer camera thing, I was reading up on that and found out that if you go into Gameplay Controls in the popit menu, there should be an Independent Multiplayer Camera View option that you can turn on. After that, it should just be a matter of having your game cameras for each player have the smallest range possible and each set on individual microchips on individual holograms, along with followers set to follow the required player. I, once again, can't really test this out, but let me know how it goes. | 2013-01-26 19:22:00 Author: Ryan86me Posts: 1909 |
Nah, it doesnt work since movie cameras arnt effected by the independened camera view... i guess i have to make the level by sharing the camera view.... its gonna be weird in mp but somehow i allways wanna have the option for mp if its possible... i couldnt find anything myself which helped me so far... | 2013-01-29 14:29:00 Author: Rough-Tea Posts: 422 |
