Welcome to the latest edition of the Spotlight (http://lbp.me/v/hnqnnb) showcasing the brightest and best of the Level Showcase in the last fortnight. You’ll notice the retro look for this Episode...just don’t ask...lol. Moving swiftly on, there’s plenty to enjoy in this Episode and congratulations to knowntokill on getting his first full spotlight alongside such well-known names as Alley_Cat, Ladylyn1, SnakeOwl and SLS10. Keep the awesome levels coming!

A couple of notices. We’d like to welcome Wolfdre to the Spotlight Crew. He's fairly new to LBPC but was one of the applicants under the recent recruitment round (and was vouched for by one the mods in following terms: “He might be new to the site, but he's certainly nice, with no apparent sociopathic tendencies...” which has so far proved true, lol). We’d also like to welcome back TheAdipose and Clarie who have returned to us for a couple of months to help out with the Karting Spotlight. It’s great to have them all on board.

Normally, I'm not one to condone this sort of activity, but in this case, I'll let it slide. Leave it to Alley_Cat to take an idea such as this and turn it into a super fun platformer. As the title suggest, someone needs your help with the dubious act of cheating on a test. You agree and set out on your journey across this larger than life classroom. You'll traverse across desks, keyboards, notebooks, etc, and one of my favorites, the pencil sharpeners. The gameplay is fresh and unique and offers a multitude of cool platform mechanics that will have you grinning like a Girl Scout who just sold a thousand boxes of cookies! Grab your backpacks and head to school, because class, is in session. This definitely gets an A+ from me.Tsk tsk... cheating on a test! Don't you know you aren't allowed to copy the person next to you, conceal a note card in your sleeve, or have sackboy sneak past the teacher, go up to the computer, find the correct answers, and transfer them onto your test. Well Alley_Cat certainly doesn't have a level about spying answers or sneaking note cards, it's all about sackboy! In this level, you'll find yourself running, bouncing, and swinging about the classroom-- and maybe staring blankly at the math problems in the background. Who knew classroom utensils were not only useful for students, but also sackboy as you make your way to the teachers computer. No calculators on this test; just you, your controller, and loads of fun!“Cheats never prosper” is a saying which always causes me to raise a slightly quizzical mental eyebrow and here’s Alley_Cat_8633 to confirm me in my scepticism. The story however is just a great excuse for a level filled with wonderful custom made objects ranging from scissors to a full blown PC, not to mention some amazing larger than life characters (Mr Higgins really should get his eyebrows seen to, though...). There are bonus score bubbles to be nabbed too and I did a little bit of cheating of my own to get some of them ; ). The platforming is as good as you would expect from Alley_Cat and it’s altogether a very fun-filled romp through some amazing eye candy.

The game includes 3 tracks and 1 battle arena all complete with AI competitors. Custom settings include number of laps, lighting and ball handling (all preset in their easiest modes). Best with 1 player, but suitable for online multiplayer games. All music tracks by Donor.

I feel I should say this in a Bruce Buffer voice. 1 extra large point to you if you know who that is. Redeemable at your local game retail outlet. *Notice* Not valid in the continental United States, NA, SA, EU, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Offer only valid in Antartica. And Now!! It's Time!!! Ha ha, no, but it is time to head into one of the greatest race levels ever. I was absolutely blown away with the menu system. I think I may have spent more time playing in the menus than actually racing and that's not to detract anything from the races, because they are a blast! Even in single player mode, which I had to do, the AI is pretty competitive and makes for an enjoyable time. The track designs induced several, "Whoas" from me and the options, my goodness, the options are plentiful. Trust me, you want to play this level, you need to play this level, you have to play this level!A superbly slick racing/battle level with some awesome menus and cool gameplay. The controls are so smooth and nicely balanced that even someone as rubbish at racing as I normally am, can manage to finish on the podium...well against the possibly very polite AI, anyway... There are more options, tracks and arenas than you will know what to do with. So be sure to load this up and take your rollerball for a spin.

Here's another level that just left me speechless. It's everything I look for in a sci-fi platformer -- impeccable design layout with tons and tons of detail, cool little story, and absolutely phenomenal gameplay. The platforming is well balanced with several types of gameplay mechanics on hand and the challenge of the level is just right, not a cake walk, but not a jaw clincher either. I had a blast playing through this and gawking at the gorgeous scenery and I know you will too.Who could refuse a challenge set by a space pirate rejoicing in the name of Wiseduck? Not I, that’s for sure! This is another level which makes fantastic use of the cross-controller pack materials but the nicely grungy space station is just the beginning of the pleasures this level has in store. The gameplay is beautifully designed and has you both slowing down time and then using grabinators to progress in a nice mix of platforming and puzzles, including some cool “jump and throw at the same time” obstacles expressly designed to catch out those who throw like a girl *cough*. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone who enjoys a cool platforming challenge and the hint of an alien infiltration at the end has me in high hopes of a sequel...

Daww! This level is so cute! It kind of has an old school LBP1 charm to it and I like that. SnakeOwl once again shows his versatility as a LBP crafter with this engaging platformer. To be honest, the level caught me off guard a little. The story is that you have to get these mice and take them to an owl so he'll open the next gateway for you. Well, we all know what owls do with mice. I guess I had forgotten this fact, because when the first owl ate my mouse, I was like, "Nooo! My little mousy!" But then the owl regurgitated some bubble bones and I was all happy again. An excellent level from a true LBP artisan that you're sure to love, just don't get too attached to those mice.Very unique level right here. SnakeOwl delivers an incredible atmosphere which combines that classic Little Big Planet look with a steampunk atmosphere. In the level, you'll meet several hungry, mechanized owls with a taste for mice--that's where you come in. And when you're looking for mice, you can't forget to bring a savory slice of cheese to lure them out. In exchange for the cheese, you can use the mice to get through various sections and build up your score. Needless to say, it works out for you, but not so well for the mice in the end. But hey, who wouldn't prefer a stack of score bubbles over a mouse? Maybe it’s because the subject matter is close to his heart , but for whatever reason, this great looking wood and steampunk themed platformer is probably SnakeOwl’s best work to date. It’s packed with cool details (regurgitated owl pellets, lol!) and interesting obstacles. Who knew cheese-based gameplay would be such fun? The mechanical owls are charming and the mice (rats, actually!) are ...expendable So side with the predators for once and you’ll have a blast in this very appealing and beautifully designed platformer.

Only Bu Ren's elevator can be used to access it, as the chilling summit of this topsy-turvy terrain proves difficult to many. But, here reside the Dragons, sealed away by the Invaders long ago. Wander about this free-roaming realm, free the Dragons, and conclude your journey! (1-2 players, might get laggy with more. bonner123 helped with visuals because he tends to do that. )

Whoa! This...wow. Let me lay down a little back story in case you don't know it. Way back over a year ago, LBPC ran a contest where the theme was "No floor platformer." SLS10's entry was brilliant and remains one of my favorites. He published a second level to this theme and now we arrived at the third installment to the "no floor" series and maybe, possibly, the best yet. This is such a cool level with a host of original contraptions that will both delight an confound you. There are hidden secrets and paths scattered about the area and it's well worth your time to seek them out. A fabulous addition to the series and definitely one of my favorites. Queue it up, you'll love it. It’s a cold, bright and dazzling world here above the clouds in Qing Hua Limits and firm ground is hard to find. So with the footholds precarious and the air thin, finding the hidden switches and freeing the caged dragons will be a true test of your mettle. This is a level to put a smile on the face of anyone who loves their platforming with dash of challenge. Your path is a tricky one, filled with ingenious contraptions and bouncepads that flip or track your movements so woe betide you if you hit them at the wrong angle! And, having released the dragons, you get to hitch a ride on one through the skies, but don’t relax and enjoy the view because the dragons are careless of their passengers and liable to deposit you swiftly on the nearest set of spikes unless you take evasive action. It’s another tour de force from SLS10; the perfect marriage of atmosphere, music and gameplay and a great end to what has been a stellar series.

Jaffakree is a level making machine. It amazes me at how fast this guy can put out high quality levels. His latest, and greatest in my opinion, is A Druids Tale. A new position has opened up in Druidia, and Sackboy wants the job. Beautiful environments are a given in any of Jaff's levels, but this level looks just as good as any level designed by Tarsier. Couple that with Jaff's trademarked touch based gameplay and platforming, and you have a level that will be in your download list for a long time. The second you spawn into A Druid's Tale you are will be immediately blown away by the array of vibrant colours. Jaffakree always loves to focus on touch based gameplay and he doesn't let us down here. Each gameplay section was filled with original gameplay and had a clear objective which always ended up with reaching a target this gave the level a great structure. I highly recommend this level as well as his other levels for moe touch based gameplay fun!Waterfalls, flowing streams, flowers, rolling hills and Druids without electricity about sums it up in this zany (yet oh so mellow) nature platformer. Sackboy's latest adventure see him off to Drudia where hes tested to become an honorary Druid. The feat at hand? Get the druids power back on! This level features some drawn out camera angles and a few front and rear touch scenarios but everything flows just as well as the rivers your bounding across!

If your after levels that ooze polish, incorporate the vast majority of LBPV's new features & are generally a blast to play then look no further as 'Sarah Salut's Amazing Mansion' happens to be a one stop shop for all the above! This level's focus was touch & tilt so prepare to get active! Pellemannen has struck platforming gold with this release and while it may not have earned a crown in the comp , it has certainly earned its place here in the spotlight and two solid (stuffed?) sack-thumbs up!I think someone has whipped out the old feather duster on this level, as it's been polished to the max. There isn't a single decoration out of place. As well as the polished visuals the structure of the level was perfect, I could tell a lot of thought had gone into it. Pellemannen slowly introduced each gameplay mechanic making it fun and intuitive to play. From starting off with plain platforming with original gameplay then adding touch and tilt gameplay to the mix! This must have been a serious contender in the LBLV contest as this is one of my favourite levels on LBPV.

Kiwi VS Orange (Level 3 - Skai of Divyne Kotton Kandy) has some of the most innovative gameplay I have played in a community level yet. Challenging and innovative platforming that will keep you on your toes and your Vita gripped tightly in your sweaty hands. A fun and cute story that will answer some of your questions, if you have played the other great installments to this awesome series. I cannot recommend this this series and this level enough, but bring your A-game, because these levels are not for the casual lbp player. The kiwi VS Orange series is continued with the usual great, challenging gameplay we have come to love. Swinging vines, electrical bouncing balls, moving chain thingy ma bobs this level has it all. With some really clever gameplay this level certainly deserves your play! The only reason you can possibly have for not playing this level is, if you have some irrational fear of dying in LBP as you WILL be dying a lot. As well as the cool gameplay, there is a funny story along side this series which is sure to bring a smile upon any grumpy Greg alike.cakito123 took a blank create space and gave it an almost lethal injection of imagination in this progressive platformer. This level exercises a variety of uncommon concepts that keep every twist and turn fresh. This by no means is a small level either. If you're into (color shifting) fluffy cloudesque scenes and abstract floating windows than this is an absolute must play. At this point we simply expect greatness from this creator and they never fail to deliver!

Raceway of the Romansaratiatia
Rip round a Roman raceway. Juipter (king of the gods) will charge your lightning bolt weapon to help fend off the lesser mortals racing against you. Golden chevrons in the road will speed you forward under Mercury's power.

Wow aratiatia! Someone's done their research, this is a very good replica of ancient rome. May the great and powerful Jupiter give you great luck as you outrace your opponents in a chariot race befitting the Gods.
Yes Yes YES! This level was a sure delight with its vast landscapes, pillars and details. This track is a must play. As you go along the track battling for first place and looking around ancient Rome in its utmost details. This level is a must play for anyone whom wishes to become a god.

Midday-Jaunt-EliminationManlius10A
A remake of my nighttime jaunt track. This is my first attempt at an elimination race, thanks to Adipose. It includes changing routes per lap and bubble emitting weapons hope you enjoy!

Great job Manlius10A, Beautiful scenery, glowing mushrooms, and well done logic. How do you do it? This is a very nice race to be had with friends, have fun, and try not to be eliminated for being in last place... I sure couldn't pull it off. Q.QWow where do I begin. this level is such a delight to play as you battle your way to stay in the lead and try not to be knocked out by the scary elimination buzzer. I was So impressed by the details put into here that I almost lost due to looking around. This is a must play level with friends. Great level awesome game play and great atmosphere makes this level a definite play.

Thicklewood RunBloodsynlol
Race through, drift through, crash through, spin through, boost through , hop through the beautiful region of Thicklewood, crafted by the greatest of imagination, only for your enjoyment.

Loved the cartoon vibe this pulled off. It also provides many different way to get to the finish line: jumps, bounce pads, alternative paths, you name it. Bottom line, great race track, beautiful scenery, and good fun with friends.
This track is a sure sign of what you can do with scenery I was amazed on how well this look on my very first lap. This track has some of the best detail for a nature level that I have seen so far and I am sure you can do better but that going to be hard. With its great use of breadcrumbs and small short cuts This track is a sure to be instant hit with the community!

Last Frontiero0O_ENDER_O0o
Venture into the last frontier: Deep space! Only the hardiest of sack-fock can make it along the asteroids, space worms, and black holes. For those willing to make the journey, weapon goodies await! *There may be some bugs to this level. please report!


"Space? SPACE! I'm in space." - Space Core quote, perks to you of you know what that's from. Ok, serious time, this quite frankly is one of my favorite levels I've seen on Karting yet. I just love the atmosphere, not to mention It's very well made. You get to suit up in some nifty space karts, even go through wormholes, but watch out for flying meteors. Oh and also one last thing, SPAACE!
Wow talk about astonishing levels. This level will keep you on your feet, or spaceship. With its fast game-play and amazing atmosphere you will always have something to look at. With its custom karts it adds to the feel of being in space as you dodge meteors and go inside one to find a cool surprise This track is sure to keep you entertained and going. Each time you play.

The Red Canyons [TT]buttarms
Race five laps around The Red Canyons and beat the best time! This track changes within different laps, so it keeps the experience interesting. There are no Score Bubbles in this level due to the fact the Scoreboard and Level Results are based on time.


Welcome to Red cannons. This track will amaze and make you feel like you were actually there. With its constant shifting environment it will keep you on your toes as you try and avoid the obstacles and falling debris. This tracks awesome little details and landscape is a sure delight. This is defiantly a must play track for anyone with a copy of this game.The best part about 'The Red Canyons' is that unlike many other tracks its impossible to master off the first lap. The smallish track map is only a minor representation of what this circuit truly has to offer. See Paris like never before in this epic journey across this beautiful city, race alone or online, it doesn't matter just enjoy the view and have fun.


This level is just PERFECT. With its amazing details and great use of culture to its vast landscapes and custom Karts. This level was fun to play as it was detailed. looking at paris's famous landmarks as you battled you way in French styled Karts this track is a sure astonishment.
'One Night in Paris' is less a karting track and more an experience! That being said it however is still a totally awesome track that you can best your fiendishly fast friends on! (with your splendiferous karting skillz that is) Those that aren't to quick to finish this race will get a chance to enjoy beautiful architecture, clean streets lit by pre-era streetlamps, fine dining complete with polite french waiter and of course, Paris just wouldn't be Paris without romance <3. Driving under the Eiffel tower in a custom red Ital sports-car is an LBPK experience i wont soon forget.
