Hi, first one to beat this level, its a funny little platformer, but i got some points to complain about ^^ sometimes the camera is awkward, once i got a camera triggered by jumping which isnt supposed to, cause it belongs to another section. Its pretty unclear where to go in this level imo, but i guess, u probably aimed for that... as it seemed like they are multiple ways in some parts... its just that some jumps are just weird to do lol, i even had problems right at the beginning. Than there is this one part where u go right and just die... its where this spikethingie is u jump over.. in the section behind it, u go right and u die... ? And i think u could add a CP where the Race begins... i died there and got thrown back... i dunno... that felt lame. Ok, so I played this, nice looking platformer, I can tell you put a lot of time into this, but it all felt ...well, I dunno, just wasn't very inspiring ![]() If I'm honest (oh and boy I like to be honest hah ) I don't really like platformers at the best of times, and however pretty this level is, it didn't have any real excitement or difficult or taxing sections. Perhaps if you could add a couple of real clever touch based puzzles on there, then the rest of the level could be used to 'fill the space' between one puzzle and te next? Or perhaps rethink the platforming and have some tougher sections as the game progresses? Or have paths blocked and you have to do more exploring with multiple paths to find keys or items that are needed to get past sections? See where Im going? It just needs 'somethIng' to change it from just being a pretty 'run and jump from one end to the other..... Unless of purse that's exactly what you want it to be? Hi there ! ![]() Your level looked pretty sweet, but I had several problems... I was personally lost with the different layers, so I died many times because of it. You could also add harder jumps or obstacles, but overall innovate : the brand new things you create in your level are what make it so unique ! Although it was longer than your first level. Thanks! I'm sorry if it was confusing a little bit. I put some clock hand stickers pointing in the way to go, but i couldn't even see them myself due to the lighting. I could tell that you worked hard on the visuals - it looked awesome and has a lot of detailed objects to climb through. A lot of the game play took advantage of the 3 layers and was adequately challenging I thought. One section with 3 bounce pads seemed awkward or out of place to bounce up to another plane. This was a very nicely made level, but a bit claustrophobic. The art design and sticker work are top notch. I was able to appreciate the amount of intricate work you did with all the crossing back an forth the player would do. It's also cool how you would put bubbles right in front of me but make getting to them a challenge. Omg!! I just realised I reviewed your level the other day..... But the leel I played wasn't this one? Wtf?? Ok, so better write another haha I think most of the issues have already been coverd: cheap deaths, awkward cameras, really tough platforming, but played this with a friend, and though we found it REALLY hard, we actually had a lot of fun (mainly laughing at me dying a gazzilion times) Some nice ideas in there, and though too hard, it was obvious what you had to do, and everything worked well (no bugs) ![]() Would love to ear your thoughts on my new top down level if you get the chance ( https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=77449-Renegade-assault-(Top-Down-Shooter)-beta ) | 2013-01-22 21:53:00 Author: Shade_seeker ![]() Posts: 328 |
