Triple Tap Time is a match-3 puzzle game that shares more in common with the careful planning of Sudoku, or Nonograms than with the twitch hand-eye reflexes of Bejeweled.

You start with an empty board and place down your pieces, any three (or more) matching blocks touching will combine into a block of the next level.
The higher level blocks give more points.

Try and combine your way to the top of the leaderboard!

A few things to note:
1. My help section is (mostly) finished. I want to add some more to the "Mumbo Jumbo" probably, and probably tweak the "how to play" 'video'
2. I have a 'Wild' block I will be adding in, and also a 'Bomb' block I will be adding in.
3. Add sounds for 'Placing a block' and for the blocks combining.
4. Add more options for music.

I AM willing to do F4F!
...it might just take a little bit...

I got an honorable mention in Vita Spotlight #103 for this level.
Team Pick! Even more yay!
Yay!

Thank you to everyone who has played, and thank you for everyone who has left feedback, and thank you to everyone who has my level! You are my inspiration! I create to please you!

As i queued it up, i realized i allready played it, i think u allready posted it in the ideas and projects section? I think back than i couldnt figure it out at all. But now i got it quite fast and had alot of fun, its makes u calm down, u can relax and think at the same time. I didnt encounter any bugs or problems at all, the only negative aspect is the missing help given at beginning, other than that, its just cool to play. Im not sure what u wanna change with the scoring system? And dont change it now lol im rank 1 atm lol.... but some special blocks would probably be interesting. Maybe so u dont recieve them randomly but u can plant them and got limited amounts of them per game, so if u get stuck u can save yourself like 1 time or something... or u recieve them by a very low % but if u got it u keep it.... i dunno.

I love Nonograms, someone should do a level for it.

U can gimme some feedback for my tetris survival level ^^

@Rough Tea, I already have the wild blocks made, and set up, it was just a hassle to actually add them into the level so I figured I'd publish it now and finally get it out there instead of floating around the ideas and projects section because I really wanted more plays.

And I just want to make sure that you noticed that there IS a way to save blocks for later use, so in theory if you got a power up block you could save it for when ever you want it.

I could make a nonograms level EASY! The amount of logic in something like that as compared to the logic in my current level is next to nothing really.

And of course I'll leave some feedback for your tetris survival level!! I was actually going to play it anyways.

Awesomesauce! Insta-queued.

(I have NO CLUE why my LBP.ME link isn't working. Can anyone help? :/Ah, so it's not just me then. I think PSN is undergoing scheduled maintenance right now - that's gotta be it. I can't log in.

In any case, the beta test of this one was VERY fun - if this is anything like it, it'll be excellent. I've made myself a reminder to play this one and leave you some feedback. You've already done way more helping me beta test my new level so this will be kind of my F4F in return for that.

...because I really wanted more plays.

What i wanted to add, the badge looks so general, u will get no plays with that. Dont let a cool Level, go down like this, cause u are too lazy to make a customized badge, its easy and it has the most effect on plays and attention a level will get. It sounds superficial to judge a book by its cover but look at the cool pages and ways to find good level, level with so general badges, are like 80% pure crap ^^ Do me a favor and make an interessting badge, delete the level, republish it fresh and voila! maybe u get a few hundred plays out of it. I mean its a cool level, it deservers those plays. [but wait for it, till u incuded a help section and maybe those special blocks]

And it would be wonderful if u make a nonogram level, i mean yes, its probably not that difficult, but u cant make the fields to big, as there would be problems to touch tiny winy squares... probably only 5x5 or 10x10 puzzles. Well 5x5 is very small lol. 20x20 should be max i guess? Well it would be awesome, as these are my favourite puzzle games, but very unknown in germany... we play sudoku haha... and crosswords.

If i think of it... the Logics must be super easy behind a nonogram level.. maybe i even try one myself.

Really liked this!
Took me like six attempts before I finally new what I was doing (lol) but really good fun! (is this an original idea? Very addictive, by far the best 'app' style game I've played so far for game play!

I understand its a work in progress, so forgive me for my suggestions, but I have a few simple ideas:
K, a sound every time you touch a square would be nice?
A choice of music... There are plants out there that people have published and given away as prises.
If you wire up a level link to the level you are already playing, does it restart the game? Would be nice to have a 'reset, or restart button rather than having to keep goin to the score board.
There are a few spelling mistakes that I noticed in your 'help' notes : atypical 'a typical' destoryed 'destroyed' challange 'challenge ' and I'm not really sure it is worded in the best possible way to explain what to do... Perhaps a Brit tutorial actually showi g you what you have to do rather than rEasing it all?
And YES, as mentioned, change the level badge!

Great job!!

Hi there !
So, your level is very cool and addictive ! The logics you used work perfectly ! I just can't stop trying to do a better score ! It definitely deserves waaaayyyy more plays, that's really sad that this kind of level doesn't get them... As Rough-Tea said, I think you should do a customized badge to make your level more attractive. I and <3
Keep creating, I hope you'll get the success you deserve !

Just have to endorse what everyone else has already said. This is a genuinely addictive and fun minigame you have here. The central idea is very cool - I've not played anything quite like it before - and it works really well. It definitely makes you think, lol!

As someone else said, it took me a little while to work out what I needed to do but I soon got the hang of it just through playing. Now I've read your thread I can see that it's a work in progress but I did find some of the boxes and buttons on the board confusing as they don't do anything at the moment. The "save" function, for example, didn't seem to be active. Anyway, other than being a little confusing, it doesn't spoil the game at all.

You should definitely keep polishing this. It's a real gem. I can see that I'll be playing it a lot!

@Shade_Seeker

A choice of music...
On the main title screen, there is a little music note. Why don't you try clicking on that?

If you wire up a level link to the level you are already playing, does it restart the game? Would be nice to have a 'reset, or restart button rather than having to keep goin to the score board.
If you truly think it's worth while I could probably incorporate a RESET button that deletes your score and all blocks. I'll definitely consider it.

There are a few spelling mistakes that I noticed in your 'help' notes
The help section is one of the main things I want to fix up actually.
And the Vita keyboard. I hate the Vita keyboard. -_-

And your suggestions are very much appreciated!!!
I am welcome to all feedback, and yours seems quite useful!

I'm glad you liked my level enough to comment here on LBPCentral.

@Shropshirelass

The "save" function, for example, didn't seem to be active. Anyway, other than being a little confusing, it doesn't spoil the game at all.
Perhaps I need to explain the save function a little bit better?

When you're holding your VITA vertically there should be four squares, one in each corner.
The squares on the right side are both Placeable pieces. The top of which is the 'ACTIVE' Square, the bottom of which is the 'SAVED' square. On the left hand side there is the "arrow" on the top, which brings you back to the in game menu, and on the bottom there is a button that looks like a little circle-y arrow thingie. That is the SWAP button, it swaps the current active (Read: Top) square with the bottom, saved (Read: Bottom) Square. In other words, there are two different pieces you can place at any time, one which randomly changes everytime you place a piece down, one which doesn't change when you put a piece down.
If you want to save your current piece, you swap it to the bottom square and continue on playing.

Does that make sense?
(In the help section there is a "Board and Buttons" section, did you notice that? And if so do you think I should explain more?

Thanks for playing my level! And I'm glad you liked it!

@Taffy
Not much has changed except menu systems since you last played, but I'm glad you're still interested in my level!

@Everyone
I think I've got my own level badge created. It's simple, but at least it's unique and sits well with the simple visual style I chose to do my menu system in. -DONE

Edit:
Oh and Gwaeron, I'm glad you like my level! Thank you VERY much for the and <3. It means a lot to me.

Badge looks neat now, u should re-release it when u are done with your final version and it gets played alot i guess. I will surely play it again and add it to my gems list. Btw. i started on a nonogram lvl, its real easy from the logic side and i can focus on the presentation mostly, i even figured a method to do puzzles with a bigger amount of grids, since its nearly not possible to touch to tiny squares. I probably could make 50x50 ones now haha... well, gonna be my next level i guess. cya2013-01-18 16:28:00

Darn, can't believe I didn't see the music selection? What about sound effects?
A reset button would be a VERY VERY good idea!
Yep, help section really needs some thought... I'd love to help, but er... I am so **** useless at tutorials!! I have such trouble describing things in a simple concise manor a visual tutorial would be far better

Keep us posted on the updates!

Oh, and if you fancy helping me, I really could do with some constructive cryicisms on my top down shooter ( http://vita.lbp.me/v/-6rcg )
Will do a thread for it

Noooooowaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a good game going, and made it to 3070!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so close to beat u lol

But it seems theres really something wrong with the balance... i swear the first game i had i got like 30 of this blank cards in a row... it gets to the point where even the save feature, cant help u anymore... and it happened to me more than once, than i thought, i just lost cause of extremley bad luck and not cause i missplaced something. [sometimes i get 30 blank ones and than like sometimes even 5 or more blue/yellow ones lol]

What is the setting or the % that the different level cards appear? And what is the max lvl card u can get?

This past week I've been super busy with university. I had a second grade math lesson to write for students I hadn't yet met and then had to revise the hell out of it.
This weekend though I may have some time for LBP so I'll check my settings to see what percent chance you have of getting what blocks.

Right now though the system only hands out the first three level blocks. The blank dark blue, the lighter blue splotch, and the yellow splotch. You have to build into the higher ones.

Sorry I haven't been able to update this!!!

There are music selections. When you're on the main homepage click on the musical note to go to the music selection page.

And the help section is one of the last thing sI have left to fix up about this level.
Thank you for your input, I'm glad you liked the level.

This was a addictive puzzle level. I'm surprised to hear that it was not just a remake of a game that's already out there. I had a lot of fun with it. My biggest problem is forgetting to check the next tile all the time and end up messing things up when the pieces change. Also a random destroy tile popping up once in a while would be helpful. Or maybe you can get players acquire them after so many points. I love the concept and think the game is brilliant.

Ok! I'm finally getting around to writing up your feedback on this one - thanks again for all your help beta testing my level (multiple times too!)

There really isn't all that much I can say that I haven't already, because I seriously love this game (I'm not going to call it a level because it's a full-fledged game experience all on its own). This really is an amazing twist on the classic match-3 mechanic, and the upgrading of the blocks is a nice touch and a wonderful idea.

As previously mentioned by several people, it did take me a while to "get" this one, but once I did it had its hooks in me bad. I played the beta version of this about a zillion times and genuinely enjoyed it as much... no, more... than Bejeweled or other similar-genre puzzle games. Also, and as is the sign of any truly great game concept, is that there are quite a few nuances that aren't clear on your first (or even fifth) playthrough. The game really starts to get enjoyable, and I love the fact that you have as much time as you need to plan your moves. Definitely my kind of game.

I'm going to be super picky with my list of things you need to fix, partially because that's how I am but also because you didn't leave me much to complain about, so it's your own dang fault! The first thing I don't like is that you can hear the level spawn noise on the menu screen - definitely tweak the checkpoint so that the sound option is set to "X". The other thing I don't really like is kind of a general lack of sound effects when you're interacting with the touch screen. Subtle little clicks and pops and things like that go a long way towards making a level seem more tactile and polished. The good news is that it's pretty easy to work this stuff into most parts of your level - just wire sound objects into your existing logic (setting the sound directionality to "X"). On the subject of sound, it would be nice if the level started with some kind of music playing, because quite a few people seem not to notice the music selection area of your main menu - it might be worthwhile to highlight the music icon somehow, perhaps with a stickered outline of some kind. My last suggestion might not be easy to implement, or it may be very easy depending on how your logic is set up. It would be nice if the game recognized when you've reached the dreaded "game over" point and that you have no moves left. It doesn't necessarily have to end the game for you, but a dialog saying "No moves left. Quit?" or something like that would be nice to see if it's possible for you to do without a zillion hours of rewiring.

To summarize, GREAT job on this and really nice work on the updates and incorporating feedback. This is a top notch original concept with excellent execution. It's earned a permanent spot on my downloaded level list. Nice work!

This was a very unexpected pleasure!! Quite a fun puzzle game that really makes you think about the order of the moves as well as what is your next piece and should you store it or not. Really intriguing! I sat and played this 2 or 3 times.

I agree with taffey that it would be nice to have a bit of "click" or other sound when placing the tiles. It might be impossible to gauge no more good moves, but maybe just to trigger game over once all tiles are filled. Maybe waiting a bit of time to insure no matches happen, then trigger game over? Not terrible at all as is, but I would really be more happy with some clicks when you place pieces, with a different for the Save tile process or playing from the saved piece. Helps you realize that "yes.. I did do it!" as at times when I missed a bit I wasn't sure if I screwed up or not.

Not sure you need the legend below the game board when playing. Maybe just make that a popup. If you did that you could have your current, saved and @ swap icons larger and maybe even off the board a bit.

Another nitpick is spelling errors in the help portions. Also.. if the help selections were more segmented either by space or maybe just subtle color changes. As is, there are larger groups of words for one thing that are equally spaced along with smaller selections. Also another type of sound to know you selected one again would be a nice feeling when roaming around help and back.

One more thing... unless there is a reason to have the rear touch screen actually do something, it is kind of a nuisance to see the rear cursor float around when you accidentally touch it. I would turn that off.

Regardless... really amazing game and loved it!!! Awesome job!

...and thanks so much for you incredible feedback on my WIP. Quite helpful and most appreciated!!l!

We'll see. I have some stuffs to fix up for sure now that this is team picked though.

Just wow.

Quick little update:
Music symbol now flashes red so it's more visible.
Added a more visual "how to play" section, and deleted most of the mis-spelled mumbo jumbo.
Oh also silenced the starting check point.

Things to hopefully have before the end of the night:
Tapping/clicking sounds for my menu buttons.
More music options.
Probably sound for my visual help section.

Thanks for all the feed back guys! The fact that this got team picked has finally pushed me into the last stages of my updates.

Another quick little update:
Added sounds to the menu. All the buttons have the same sound except for two exceptions: When you "Play" the visual example of how to play there is a starting, and a stopping sounds.
And the "Switch between Active and Saved" button has it's own unique sounnd

Edit: Added a missing sound or two.

Also tweaked logic so that level 2 and level 3 blocks spawn more frequently, and logic is set up to have rainbow wild block added in.

I tried it again yday... i like the updates, brings a bit more balance into it, if u get far enough, its really easier now, i got easily to 3k but made a few mistakes than ... it gets quite though if u have those level 5 and 6 blocks all over the place lol...

But this time i felt it was my mistakes that i lost, rather than getting 20 or more level 1 blocks in row...

Anyways, i was wondering that the level got teampicked, allthough it wasnt that polished before, but its just such a fun puzzler, im glade they chose it, i guess someone of the people who choose the TP's got addicted playing it haha.... the gameplay aspect got more weight here than the "top polished super ultra nice visual wow presentation" aspect.

It must be my favourite level on lbpv... i spend the most time on it, and probably gonna play it a few more times (its just that u need some time for it, one game can easily last like over 15 minutes and more)

I'm glad you like it so much! It's really nice to hear that!

And yeah, I've been trying to polish up the menus a little bit and stuff since they chose it, it could still use some work though.

I'm glad you think the level feels better to play not that the 2's and 3's are a little more common.

I know it gets hard when you start getting four's and five's everywhere, and I have a few ideas to address that (A wild block, and also possibly a bomb block). I also have an idea for a "Undo" button that would delete the last block you place (for a price). Do you think that'd be a good idea? I feel like it would be...

And yeah the time it takes to play can be major if you're looking to get a good score... And when I add in my final changes, it'll probably take even longer... You don't think that's a bad thing do you?

I like to play while doing something else, like watching TV.

But I'm glad you like this so much Rough Tea!
Hopefully people will like my next level too! (I have a few idea's I'm playing around with )

I also have an idea for a "Undo" button that would delete the last block you place (for a price). Do you think that'd be a good idea? I feel like it would be...

Sounds good, some kind of special blocks and especially that undo move sounds like it would help the balancing.

And yeah the time it takes to play can be major if you're looking to get a good score... And when I add in my final changes, it'll probably take even longer... You don't think that's a bad thing do you?

I like to play while doing something else, like watching TV.

Yeah, i do that too especially whilst creating, i cant believe to create on ps3 or something, as its quite more comfortable to just lay in bed and watch something on the telly, while creating and if u need to go to the toilet u can keep creating while doing your business haha

Hopefully people will like my next level too!

I think u never have to care about that anymore, people will allways check your other levels out if u got teampicked...

If this wouldnt got teampicked, it would have been an totally underplayed gem.... allways feel sorry for really good levels, which dont get the attention they deserve... Drop the Ball is a good example...

Ugh, I am having trouble with my "Wild Blocks"
I may just change up my plans and instead of adding wild blocks add a (very) tiny chance to get higher blocks, that way you have a chance to "finish" out the combos of blocks and get higher scores easier.

This though will probably cause the top ten scores to skyrocket pretty quickly, or at least the top five.

I know if I do make the changes, I'll definitely will be taking advantage of them to try and get back up to the top.

But I am just having a lot more problems with my wild block than I thought I would have sadly.

When I lay it down next to two blocks of the same level, it works just fine and activates to form the block of the next level. But when there are four blocks, two of one time, two of another, it seems to take all four, and combine them into one above the lower of the two's....

You know what... I'm gonna take this above paragraph and just move it into the LBPVITA help section I think...

But yeah, just an update. I've spent a couple hours tonight trying to work out this Wild Block and am just having troubles...

Well, it would be enough even if u add a very very tiny chance to get lvl 5 blocks... or even 6? I guess 5 would be enough... but it should have a percentage that it rarely happens at all... what u might consider if u add a "wild block" that it only occcurs very rarely and just once per game...

I guess just adding the level 5 blocks, that appear very rarely, would be the easiest and bring some more balance into the level.. especially if u get a bit further into it... i actually really would love the idea of blocks 5 to appear... u really should consider that.

U never told me whats the percentance of each block to appear...
