New gameplay for my horror level series

Hello everyone, its been ages since I've posted something on this website. I just wanted to announce that I'm working on a new gameplay system for my horror levels. This also means that I'm currently working on the third part of my "Endless Nightmare" horror series! This new gameplay haves a lot of new features, such as health bar, flashlight, an investigation tool and the "fearmeter". By putting a health bar, monsters will not be able to just kill you immediately. You will also be able to regain health by using health packs found throughout the level. The investigation tool is a magnifying glass that you can spawn by pressing the square button. You'll be able to move this tool to search for objects in different areas. The magnifying glass turns green when there's something suspicious nearby. You'll be able to interact with these objects by pressing the action button (circle). Horror levels are usually very dark so I decided to include a flashlight which can be used at any moment, but be careful, some monsters are attracted to light! Finally there's the fearmeter. This is a bar that changes color when you are near something hostile. The closer the color is to red, the more you are likely to get hurt or spooked. There's other things you'll be able to do with this new gameplay I'm working on, like using the action button to enter rooms and talk to other people. So yeah, I'm pretty sure you'll love these new mechanics I'm implementing to my horror series and I'd like to hear your opinion about horror levels. There's not many of these around anymore so I'd like to contribute! Hey man thats looking hot! the horror levels are my favorite in LBP2, specially the ones well put together. I can see you put a lot of effort in logic for all these features, I'd love to play it when its done. One thing, you might wanna work with custom camera angles, makes it look a lot better IMO. I'm working on a horror level myself, and I know how time consuming it can get, but don't give up! It would be nice if you pushed the visuals a little more... Add more darkness, fog, flickering lights, maybe experiment with color correction it is a horror level so you can really get creative visually. | 2013-04-18 19:05:00 Author: Seant1228 Posts: 348 |
