:star:Level Name: The Art Gallery:star:
(Version 3.0) Help the artist Shane Allen Schwarzman extinguish the fire raging within the art gallery building. Race time, view original vector artwork, traverse broken bridges, and defeat the blazing boss. Do you have what it takes?

Version 3.0 Update: With all the reviews from the community pouring in, I've decided to go back once again and overhaul "The Art Gallery" level. One of the biggest complaints I received was the lack of challenge within the level. To incorporate a bit of challenge I tweaked some of the camera angles along with the jumping distances. In addition to these level tweaks, I've added even more substance to the level. The new additions include a broken bridge, sackboy compactor, and a raging fire boss. I hope these addition makes the level more enjoyable, and as always please continue to leave your valuable feedback.

Version 2.0 Update: So after some of the level reviews I received I've decided to go back and re-tune the entire level. The first thing I did was rework the level design. Because of this I was able to make a longer more engaging level, with a few more platforming challenges. The next step I took for version 2.0 was too update how the art would display. Originally on a detection timer, I swapped the art to display on button presses making it so all three pieces of art display correctly. The final thing I've added to version 2.0 are camera angles, this allowed for me to focus more on the platforming action and give the player a sense of scale.

So i played it again! This level has done a complete flip-flop, its nothing like what it was before. It feels way more like a traditional platformer now. Great improvements!2013-01-17 14:22:00

I'm currently working on adding a few additional aesthetic tweaks, along with some final boss mechanics. I'll keep everyone up to date on these additions.2013-01-18 00:21:00

Let me preface this comment with a comment of it's own:
I strongly believe 'Art' levels don't NEED to also be levels you PLAY, but can stand on their art work alone.

That being said you have some great looking artwork here, the platforming sections though... Definitely sub par, sorry.
I played it last night, so off the top of my head I don't have too many suggestions to make. I'll play it again tonight and get back to you.

Let me know what I can do to give my platforming a touch of greatness.

Ok, so I just played this. VERY impressed with the art work, to then re read your Description and realise the art work wasn't done by you?! Ok, so, basically the level is pretty simple, but all worked well enough. There wasn't any issues with the levels workings, but it was all kinda a little plain looking. Have you thought about spending a little more time on adding a few more decorations and stickers? Maybe a bit more of a challange with the platforming? Pretty disappointed that the art work wasn't yours, because really with art work like that, you don't need to add anything to elaborate line platforming and roaming around. Would be nice to be able to zoom on to Agee the pictures, perhaps have a picture of a camera on screen and if you touch, you trigger a movie camera that zooms in for a short while? Oh, and it would be nice to mention who dd the pictures (forgive me if you did do that and I didn't notice, was a few hours ago that I played it

Not the most positive of reviews I know, but may give you a few ideas?
Would like to hear your thoughts on my to down shooter ( https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=77449-Renegade-assault-(Top-Down-Shooter)-beta )

Thanks for the feedback Shade_seeker. I do want to inform you that the artwork present in the level I did create in Adobe Illustrator CS4. As for the detailing of the level, I've taken your feedback into consideration and I'm presently working on adding some more aesthetics. Along with the level presentation tweaks, I'm also working on adding some more art and platforming challenges.

This was a fun short race level. You had a few difficult jumps in there which I always like =) But Im not sure art and a race gate go together. You can go back and look at the last two but you can't do that with the first one. I know the object is to save the art but you seemed to take the time to put in mechanics to reveal the art only to have me run right past it. Maybe a puzzle theme would have worked better. One last issue you do not a creatinator by the final restore point. So if someone happens to die there is no way to finish the level.

This was a very original concept, keep up the good work.

Pro tip:

Finish the level before publish it and don't make updates every week like in HoN, DotA 2 or LoL

EDIT: And yes I'll play it now!

Thanks for the reply Doggy97, when I originally released the first rendition of "The Art Gallery" It was complete in my eyes. After all the community feedback here at LittleBigPlanet Central I decided I would take the time and continue to tweak and edit as the community played the level. Because of this, I can now say I'm truly satisfied with the way "The Art Gallery" has turned out with the help of this amazing community.

Thank you.
