Still no news on DLC costumes availability?

Be patient. I'd rather they fix the major game bugs first then focus on DLC. All we are given is that the DLC costumes will come in January. There are still 21 days left in January, so it will come when it is ready. No point in rushing it as it seemed when this game was released on Nov. 6.2013-01-10 23:40:00

I was about to create a thread on this topic as well...
Even LBPV offered costume DLC a few weeks after launch. Not all at once- but a steady stream.

It was their plan to have them for release but they've obviously hit an obstacle along those lines. Might also play into why they waited so long to distribute the beta vests as well. After all, why give out DLC for a game if you cant use it? As far as i know the only costume DLC that works right now are Kevin Butler/Cart, UFG/Cart, & LBPK Week 1 T-shirt.
Im sure you guys will find out as soon as we do but the community coordinators usually post updates on GetSatisfaction when live.

There's also the promotional Target race car and Target helmet. Target (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Corporation), for those outside the US and Canada, is a chain of retail stores.

I have been following LBPK's GetSatisfaction forum for a while. Things have been quiet there from the developers since the v1.02 patch went live.

I actually haven't played LBPK lately and don't plan to since I'm holding out for this and the DLC they're promising this month. I'm kind of out of creative ideas for the time being anyway, but I'm being patient. They still have almost two weeks to go yet in January. They've pushed this back a couple of times already, so another time will really hurt them, and I think they know that. So yeah...we can just stay patient and unleash fury on February 1st if nothing has come by then.

In all seriousness, it's a lot of pressure for UFG, and I think they're really feeling it this month.

Well I asked StevenI about this and he assured me costumes will be coming soon. No date. He did say new Karts w/ outfits coming next month though.2013-01-23 03:59:00

I really hope this patch comes next Tuesday. There is be absolutely no reason a studio of professionals can't port over costumes within 2 months, that is unless they're working on something else that is slowing the process.

What's sad is that UFG doesn't even acknowledge LBPK's existence on twitter compared to Sleeping Dogs. Didn't they have a 'Track of the Day' or something on modnation? Why can't we have that kind of community support?

I also hope they include DLC stickers in Kartings as well. That would be a really nice touch.2013-01-27 17:35:00

When I asked StevenI, I was curious as to the NEW costumes are not at least being released to karting as they are to Vita and LBP2. I would imagine they would build the new costumes at the same time, but he only assured me Karting was not being neglected. I appreciate that responded to me, but I have a really bad feeling about this delay. Micheal Buffaloe is the Community lead and he's been very quiet.

I noticed too how UFG mentions nothing of Karting. Just to add more concern.

I just wish that the developers were not so quiet about LBPK. The game is starting to sell for a more accessible price of US$39.99, and it's one of the games available for PSN's "13 for '13" promotion (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/01/21/psns-13-for-13-begins-tomorrow-top-games-movies-great-prices/), which runs until January 28th, for even cheaper (For sale at US$19.99, US$10.00 if you are a Plus subscriber), so that should get more people into the game.

I'm taking a small hiatus from track making, since, like IvoYaridovich, many things I try to do in the create mode either do not work as intended or cause my whole PS3 to crash.

4 more days including today and no word on progress. I'm still holding out, but my hopes are down. Thanks for the updates though, Verbal. 2013-01-28 06:24:00

I'm from Australia and we have target in my country and there's a story at least 2 hours from my place but they don't do the promotions. You would think they would do promotions for most of the target stores in the world. But that only happens to the USA sadly same goes with 7/11 I've got one at least 30 - 45 mins away from where i live and no promotions. Even when they had the LBP promotion there was nothing. I don't feel right when we have these stores but they don't hold the promotions which is unfair. But if i was to guess why. It would have to be a good reason.

Rights to the Target logo and name were granted to Myer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myer) Emporium Ltd. (later Coles Group (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coles_Group)), by the Dayton Hudson Corporation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Corporation) (now known as Target Corporation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Corporation)); aside from this, the two companies are unrelated.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Target_Australia#cite_note-3)

This per Micheal Buffaloe...
"Hi everyone - I'm kinda toeing the line just by pointing this out, but... in this industry, if we're not saying anything, there's usually a good reason. I wish I could share more. We definitely haven't forgotten about you!"

Patience it will be. Thanks Micheal.

I totally forgot that many people who work in the industry have to abide by non-disclosure agreements. That explains why we've heard nothing officially about LBPK since mid December 2012. Michael Buffaloe's response, though he could not directly answer any of our questions, gave me a new reason to keep holding out for a new LBPK update. Heck, I'll hold out as long as it's needed for the next update.2013-01-29 01:33:00

unless they're working on something else that is slowing the process.

That's pretty much the case.

The next Game Update for LittleBigPlanet Karting is pretty significant and will be bringing more than just the Cross-Buy Costumes for the game.

We're currently in the process of finalising the update and locking down a date for release, so hopefully we should have some more solid information regarding a release date soon.

Agreed. This is the most excited I've been about the game since I first received it in the mail.

I'm curious how much they will alter the actual game though, if at all. The gameplay/levels have been criticized by IGN and I'm sure UFG saw their god awful review. I think at the very least a lot of bugs will be ironed out.

That review was ******** anyway, I'm so tired of video game reviews.

I look forward to the update so I can use my DLC costumes as advertised.

I honestly don't think this game is as bad as IGN's review suggests. Solo might be boring as heck, but every racer is. This game should only be played online with 7 other players for maximum enjoyment.
Hopefully they'll address the endless stun issue. Paint- glove- glove- rocket and no immunity......

Watching IGN's video review on YouTube basically had them admitting that they didn't play past the first few tracks. They said the tracks were "empty". That enough says it all. So yeah, that review was garbage.2013-02-10 05:45:00

Patient is all you can be. I've tried hopping onto LBPK to make a new track to be released for later, but it kept freezing on me. I probably won't touch it again until this patch is out which hopefully also fixes the freeze issue since StevenI said there's more to it than Cross-Buy. Until then, I have other games to play to keep my mind off of the wait and to keep my mind from speculating too much. I trust it'll be worth it. 2013-02-12 08:47:00

I'm just curious of those that experience freezing. Do you own a Fat ps3 or slim. I ask because I own both and I very rarely experience freezing on the slim as oppose to the fat that freezing every so couple of hours. Curious if this is a coincidence or if in fact there is something to this.2013-02-12 19:12:00

I've only had a few freezes, and I was using a fat 40GB model (newer one with no PS2 compability). I haven't tried on my slim yet, because there's no import/export profile functionality to get my game data across. I hope you're right about the slim, though. 2013-02-12 20:03:00

I have a 160GB Slim, and I sometimes freeze under these scenarios:

Loading a level online after completing and voting on the next. (decent chance)
Changing karts online in the pre-race lobby before it begins. (very rare)
Loading a custom weapon into a loadout tweak. (rare)
Entering the start menu while the game is still auto-saving. (rare)
Say something mean about the game's mother. (all the time)

At least we know the update is coming. I'd rather they not give us a release date, because if something causes them to miss that release date, it will disappoint a lot of people. It's best to wait until they release the LBPK update with it's fully ready.

Thought this could use a bump. 1.10 came out today, no cross dlc but the first loaxing screen on startup now has "loading dlc" on it. Sounds like its coming VERY soon2013-02-15 21:27:00

From Steven Isbell on the Sack it to Me blog in response to someone asking about the cross-buy patch.

We have some long-awaited news for LittleBigPlanet Karting’s new update and the release of the DLC Costumes coming tomorrow.

It’s such an anticipated announcement that we thought that we would give it an extra-special blog post all to itself!
