A more elegant solution?
Archive: 7 posts
I have N touch sensors each of which is intended to pop up a different note. I?d like the note text to remain visible for say 5 seconds and I?d like only the note for the last touched sensor to be visible at any given time. Currently the touch sensors select the note to pop-up using a selector and a timer resets the selector to input 1 to dismiss the note. Where things got ugly was switching from one open note to another as the timer needs to be reset so that the newly opened note displays for the full 5 seconds, not whatever time was remaining from the previous note. What I ended up with seems needlessly complicated/ugly but I can?t seem to come up with a simple/generic solution. If my description makes any sense and you have a suggestion that doesn?t involve emitting the notes I?d appreciate hearing it. Thanks. | 2013-01-08 22:40:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
It must be doable with microchips i guess.... if every note has a timer on its own... and both the timer and the note is put into a microchip.... and u just activated the microchips with your selector... than atm where u jump from one acvitated note to another, the microchips gets automatically deactivated and i think the timer will reset itself too, im not 100% sure tbh... but it sounds like a job for some microchips ^^ Edit: If the Timer ends for the specific note, u can manually connect them all to an "and" thingie which selects the Number 1 Input on the Selector.... | 2013-01-08 23:31:00 Author: Rough-Tea Posts: 422 |
Can you make a 'only tap 1 at a time system' using wireless tags on same chip? that would deactivate all other tap options at once. just throwing out some quick ideas. Good luck! | 2013-01-08 23:50:00 Author: rrad10n Posts: 27 |
EDIT: I came up with a solution on the drive home that uses the selector, a single timer, and 1 or gate. Basically the selector has 2*N notes+1 inputs. The touch sensor actvates an output to reset the timer (uses or gate) and then activates the next input to open the note. The timer output is wired to selector input 1 that has no output. | 2013-01-09 00:39:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
Don't forget, a tag sensor won't detect a tag on the same chip, so when you activate the timmed for five seconds (that opens the note) also make a tag light up. On the timer reset connection, hook up a tag sensor of the same colour/name as the tag (with sensor radius maxed out)... So if you open a second note on another chip, all others will reset | 2013-01-15 13:56:00 Author: Shade_seeker Posts: 328 |
The vita has a setting to detect tags on the same chip... This thread can be closed... | 2013-01-15 17:23:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
