Two Questions about Burnout Paradise/Skate 2
Archive: 10 posts
First of all, what is included in Burnout Paradise : The Ultimate Box that can't be gotten free from updates? And, should I get Burnout Paradise or Skate 2? | 2009-01-19 18:11:00 Author: Dwight Posts: 35 |
i think skate 2 will give you so much more gameplay with it. Burnout Paradise is huge and have a ton in it, but it can get repetitive | 2009-01-19 18:43:00 Author: Frank-the-Bunny Posts: 1246 |

Yeah, Ultimate Box nets you all the free stuff without need for download, and then the Party Pack. Which, unfortunately, isn't that great, especially from Criterion. Especially with the online. I do highly recommend Burnout Paradise as a purchase, especially at such a low price point. However, realize that you aren't getting a real racer. The actual racing in this game got downgraded, and really is not very involving, at all. Some of the other modes really take to the system quite well, but racing doesn't. Burnout is a driving game, over racing. You'll spend most your time just messing around in the city, trying to wreck stuff. Which can be quite fun, and there's a good variety. But it ends up that you do all of it just for the sake of wrecking stuff, there's not actually any reward to it (aside from "You did it!"). So although you can have a blast for some time, it will wear off and you'll be left with a sense of "What the heck am I doing here, again?" If you like racing, good racing, there are better choices. For comparison Midnight Club: Los Angeles, which you can pick up for $10 more. The racing there is pretty awesome, but you'll be doing racing the whole time, not open-world messing around. Skate 2, obviously, I'll abstain on. Didn't play the first, either. Which makes me less qualified. I might say you'll get a lot more time out of Paradise, I can estimate. | 2009-01-19 22:05:00 Author: Mark D. Stroyer Posts: 632 |

Burnout Paradise! 1. large open world (hellishly fun to expolore and do stuff, and will give you about 100 hours + of gameplay) 2. Never gets old (its really easy to find cool and nice people online and it never gets old when you are freeburning online with friends trust me. I still play it and i have had it for about 6 to 7 months) 3. Best game support from Criterion games (they are updating this game contstantly with new features, such as bikes, day/night cycle + weather, and then upcoming are the party pack, ultimate cars, and the Island *Island ftw*; and they have site news coming in when you open the game so any recent updates on what is going on, you will know) 4. One of the best online services with countless things to do online. (challenges, roamin with friends, helping each other find billboards, helping each other find shortcut gates, helpin each other find superjumps, racing for rank, racing with friends, etc.) 5. Countless awards for the game and named the best driving game of 2008. I can name more if you really want me to, TAKE THAT SKATE 2 I do really think that this is The better game by far compared to Skate 2. Cheers! | 2009-01-20 02:41:00 Author: RAINFIRE Posts: 1101 |
i would say skate.. but i used to skate until i tore the ligaments in my knee for the 3rd time or somthing lol... Burnout rules... but i have played it for like 150 hours, so i guess i have worn it out ll | 2009-01-20 16:47:00 Author: Unknown User |
Most people are saying Skate 2 because it's the new one and that's just how people are. I'd say either game is a safe bet though. I haven't played Skate but Burnout Paradise is a great game with superb online features. | 2009-01-20 18:25:00 Author: UmJammerSully Posts: 1097 |
