On a seemingly normal Saturday morning you awake ready to spend the day relaxing playing LBPV when you are suddenly abducted by Aliens. Taken away your are forced to endure their deadly tilt and touch platforming puzzles. Will you survive? Will you get back home? Find out in this exclusive level for Little Big Planet VITA!

UPDATE: It seems that the difficulty of the level was too much for most people. Only our friend Rough-Tea was able to complete it so far.

To compensate for this I have added a mechanism to make trials easier. There is a fuzzball alien at the start of each section that you can talk to. Tap the alien and it will make the current trial easier by adding platforms, disabling some electricity or in some cases letting you skip it all together. If you die in a section 5 times the fuzzball jumps up and down letting you know that it's there.

There is a price to pay for making a section easier. Each fuzzball you activate reduces bonus points awarded at the end of the level by half.

UPDATE: I have improved the intro level with better movie camera work. I am still learning how the movie camera system works so I am happy to have any feedback.

Im the first to beat this ^^ at all.

First, i have to say, this was one of the hardest levels i played in a long time lol. Especially that part seen in your 2nd Screenshot was very tricky... it wasnt so much about figuring out how it works, but more not to get grilled or squashed by moving it too fast. And sometimes i couldnt figure out where and how to change the layer and if it was infront or back lol ^^

Normally i quit Levels which are too hard or i cant figure out what to do at all.... but yours kept me going, since i saw some quality put into it (allthough u can still see marker sometimes lol)

... and i really like the scenario a lot.... its really cool, aliens capturing u, to do some testing on you... excellent.

It was really though... but actually i enjoyed it... im actually interested in other peoples opinion... cause maybe its just me who finds this so hard lol.... but jumping while tilting the vita? ^^ There was one part where i prayed not to die cause there was no CP after the Part seen in Screenshot 1.... lol

Good one, but very hard ^^

(If u can wait a little bit longer i would like you to feedback my newer level when its out. Shouldnt take too long anymore ^^)

Yes this part of the level is tricky. I think that I may have a player sensor here that will change the color of the back layer so you can more easily tell which one your in. I could not find any real way to tint the glass but I may try with a sticker panel.

Thanks. I spent quite a long time on the level. Which markers are you referring to? I noticed that I had a couple music sequencers visible but I think I removed those. This is my first published level so I am looking to improve wherever I can.

The intention was for this to be difficult but rewarding. I realize that a lot of people may not complete it because of it's difficulty. I am glad that the gameplay was compelling enough and rewarding enough for you to get to the end.

I suspect I should put in another CP after that part shown in the screenshot. Thanks for noticing.

Hi there !
Well, I tried your level... but one part is way too hard for me Some jumps are very hard ! You have some great gameplay's ideas (like the doors you have to block with the front and rear touch), but it could a little bit more detailed or playable.
Thank you although, now I'm able to do longer jumps !
I think I'll re-try your level a next time ! Keep creating !

I am not sure what you mean by this. Are you referring to the start section or the level in general? How far did you get through it?

As for the playability I am thinking about ways to retain the difficulty for those people who want the challenge but still allow other people to get through the level so that they can see it all.

Hi DigitalBtyes, I just want to say that this level is one of the reasons I play LBP. It would be nice to say that I loved it from the start but the first play through had me convinced you were a masochist. I say this as someone who loves difficult, insanely hard even, levels. This mostly stemmed from the fact that your level required precise control using the Vita's motion controls, which have always seemed to be flakey and imprecise. But after my first run I was able to learn the techniques required to navigate the level. Now I can run through it fairly quick. It was very rewarding, the most rewarding user level I've played yet. Learning new things is fun =) I found the puzzles very entertaining as well. Finally, the replay value of this level is through the roof with it's challenge and hidden asteroids. I look forward to finding them all and acing the level.

Thanks again for making this and keep it up. I know that these type of levels will never get the big numbers. But, I think there are a number of people who enjoy the challenge and appreciate creators who provide it.

Wow this is quite the endorsement thanks so much for the feedback. There are a couple of things that I think could be tuned a little better but I am happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for the review and for sticking with it. It seems that you had a similar experience to @Rough-Tea where things were interesting enough for him to push through the difficulty. I do realize that this does not have the same appeal as some other genres so I am glad that someone likes them.

I will give your F4F level a shot and get you some feedback.

Sorry about that. For those of you that don't know, if you republish and change the name of a level it creates a new one. In this case I just changed the capitalization of "a puzzle platformer" to "A Puzzle Platformer" and that caused it to create a new level instead of overwriting.

Don't worry @Rough-Tea I know that you were the first to beat it and to do so without any easy mode fuzzball's helping you.

Your welcome. The only feedback I would give is that it would be nice if the camera was fixed and followed you as you went up instead of panning side to side. I did some experimentation with this for a level that I started with a similar mechanic to what you had here with yours. I could share the logic that I have for that if your interested.

If it works in multiplayer sure, i tried movie cameras out, with flat 2D options, but it was kinda awkward and didnt work so well, than i thought of multiplayer and was sure it will screw up lol... but sure i can still add those things, either u send me those logics (gotta be friends for that), or share it in some level.2013-01-16 18:46:00
