Regarding the Layer Glitch

Archive: 3 posts

I've been somewhat away from LBP for a while since my computer died and I've been distracted by PS All Stars, but I have a couple questions regarding the extra layers glitch in LBPV.

Has anyone discovered a way to pop objects in to the background/foreground like in LBP2?
Has anyone found a way to sticker/put decorations on objects in the background?

The layer glitch seems a lot nicer in this game due to the dephysicaliser tool, it's just harder to actually use.

I already have a layer cascade from... Drunkenfist_Lee (or a variation of that) I think. I'm just unsure about these 2 things.

Dephyicalize makes it so that you don't need to worry about overlapping objects exploding. It also makes the front layers less annoying because they don't block your sack person in hover mode. The static property is nice because you don't need to glue anything.

As to stickers/decorations in the back layers, the best I've managed is to pull stuff a couple layers back. If you start with a thick material in the 2nd or 3rd back layer, you can thicken it so that the front face comes up to the normal layers and can be stickered/decorated, you can then change it back to 1 layer to pull the decorations into the back layer.

One thing that may be obvious but I stumbled upon the other day is that it is possible to extend material from the front/back layers through the normal layers, previously I thought we were limited to 3 layer thickness. To do this you just thicken the material to 3 layers and then tap like you are adding a thin layer to a thick layer and you can extend the material into the normal layers.
