Stopping Karts in Cutscenes.
Archive: 9 posts
Whenever a cutscene triggers during gameplay the karts don't actually halt, they keep going forward and it feels clumsy. Is there a way to get the karts to either respawn or just stop moving during cutscenes? | 2012-12-22 09:50:00 Author: anarchowolf Posts: 194 |
I would consider trying the same logic Adipose uses on eliminated/stopped karts in his advance logic tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Oa_AW-HJQpI). | 2012-12-22 16:08:00 Author: Manlius10A Posts: 88 |
theres a way to stop them using the pathways - I cant remember where it is, but somewhere there is a stop at end option. | 2012-12-22 16:22:00 Author: TheAdipose Posts: 533 |
I believe there is a option for "Stop at Target" in the actor tweaker. | 2012-12-22 20:51:00 Author: Verbal83 Posts: 109 |
yeah thats it. Set the pathway itself to cutscene. Add an actor thingy to the green spawn point. Set it to follow pathway, then you get an extra option which says stop at end. Set it to tick. Be aware that it will overshoot slightly as the kart needs to brake. | 2012-12-22 21:38:00 Author: TheAdipose Posts: 533 |
Hmm, there are no actors though I'm referring to during game play your kart and the AI karts will not stop when a cutscene is triggered. | 2012-12-23 02:27:00 Author: anarchowolf Posts: 194 |

Oh, I believe like a previous poster said you might want to look at Adipose elimination tutorial. In it he explains how users and AI are put into an idle. Of course, the trick is how to take them back out of said idle after the cut scene. | 2012-12-23 03:41:00 Author: Verbal83 Posts: 109 |
I'll check out what made the karts stop in the tutorial and see if I can figure anything out then. IF that won't work I suppose I could create a large and deadly forcefield to emit around the track (it's not that big, at all). But I'd rather just be able to stop them. Thanks, and let me know if you spontaneously think of anything in the meantime. | 2012-12-23 04:21:00 Author: anarchowolf Posts: 194 |
