Great level Coxy! All the minigames were great fun and I loved the little cutscene at the beginning ![]() | 2012-12-19 23:18:00 Author: anoken ![]() Posts: 1654 |
On the first day of Christmas, Coxy gives to thee, mini-games for LBPV... I'll confess I was disappointed this wasn't a platformer, your PSP platforming levels were fun. As to this level the one suggestion I have is to support L1/R1 for the pinball flippers. As to the individual games, I liked the pinball table the best, air hockey was fun, the driving game I did not enjoy, fortunately it wigged out and gave me 3 stars after only 1 lap. Anyway, good to see you've adapted so well to all the new stuff in LBPV. btw: Why is our score zeroed at the end? I had a really good pinball score... | 2012-12-20 00:02:00 Author: fullofwin ![]() Posts: 1214 |

btw: Why is our score zeroed at the end? I had a really good pinball score... Argh I forgot I'd left this in! I'll get rid of it, it was only there because originally everything worked on points until I changed up the logic Thanks for playing and for the feedback! | 2012-12-20 07:19:00 Author: Coxy224 ![]() Posts: 2645 |
Hi, great start for the VCC, i enjoyed the air hockey, and the pinball table (its quite good), i didnt enjoy the car racing game too much... the touch controls seemed unnecessary for that kinda game... but its ok.. I couldnt beat the level yet lol... a friend joined midgame and we tried to beat the pinball table together... (one does the left bumper, the other the right one) but we failed (only got up to 500)... after a few tries, we couldnt start the table again.... yeah, its probably made for singleplayer... Anyways, great start. | 2012-12-20 17:53:00 Author: Rough-Tea ![]() Posts: 422 |
after a few tries, we couldnt start the table again. Not sure if its the same problem...but you need to stand in a specific place to start the pinball mini-game, its fussier than the other two it seems. I had initially jumped on top of the table and couldn't get it to start until I noticed where the lethal gas was being emitted and move my sack person. Behind the table just to the right seems to be the best place to stand... | 2012-12-20 18:17:00 Author: fullofwin ![]() Posts: 1214 |
First let me start by saying this was a very well made level. From the arcade itself to all the games it was obvious you spent a lot of time and effort in making a great looking place for people to hang out an play some good ol fashion arcade games. Second let me say I am not the biggest fan of touch games, even less on the Vita. Still I enjoyed the level and the challenge it presented quite a bit which is saying a lot considering I was cursing touch controls the entire time. Here is my quick thoughts on each one of the arcade games. Racing - This level out of all of them required the most skill and had a technique to master. I wish the car would not spin as much but it was fun to play. Air Hockey - I was impressed by the the fact that you had computer controlled opponent. I had a band aide on my left thumb which made it very frustrating since the rear touch was not nearly as responsive as the top. But once I took it off I had fun with it. I can kick the AI's butt now. Pinball - What a nice looking board you made. I loved the Christmas tree. It had some nice flow and bumper action. But having touch controls for the flippers when you have nice little cozy L & R trigger buttons is disappointing especially since using them would allow both flippers to work at once. I know its a mini game but I have a few suggestions. You should have something blocking the path where the ball first comes out into the play-field. I found myself going back and forth from the right flipper to the plunger over and over again. Finally the gutters on the side of the flipper are a little too big and what normally would be a 50-50 shot turns into a 85-15 shot of loosing your ball. Fixing that would help out a lot in balancing out the difficulty of the table. As it stands right now the only way to do good is just play it safe which works for a stealth game but not so much with pinball. You made such a nice table, a little more tweaking would enable people to spend more time on it. This was a killer start to the VCC levels and full of the Christmas spirit. Awesome job! <3ted and yeah'd | 2012-12-22 04:37:00 Author: Xenon ![]() Posts: 306 |
Played this. (Yeah, I know I should be working but I couldn't help it. >~>) and this is an outstanding start for the series! But, when go left at the start, you will drop out of the level. Thought you'd wanna know that. Edit: Congrats with your nod, Coxy! Full spotty next time? ![]() | 2012-12-22 13:45:00 Author: nysudyrgh ![]() Posts: 5482 |
