Piston help
Archive: 7 posts
I've tried many different things but cannot achieve the effect I want. I have three blocks of heavy material attached to pistons that go up and down, the player has to be quick or he/she will be crushed. The middle one is synced differently to add that "platformer" element. What I want is for the blocks to rise slowly but come crashing down, I tried "flipper" but it's not what I want, it's too fast. Can anyone suggest anything? | 2012-12-19 02:18:00 Author: AlexStarkie Posts: 37 |
rather than pistons why dont you use movers? you can set the up mover to be slow and the down mover to be faster. If you want to create this effect for more than one block create it all on a sequencer so you can control exactly when each block moves. | 2012-12-19 02:39:00 Author: Arastoph Posts: 216 |
I had tried to achieve the same effect in LBP1 at that time I but soon gave up. Movers sounds like a great suggestion, but I just had another thought. What about using a winch (with a zero strength rigid piston attached for stability). Winch lifts blocks, they fall at the rate of gravity. You can make either the winch or piston invisible. Need them to fall faster than gravity? Use a rigid spring to pull them down faster. I may try these ideas myself. I hope you find them useful. | 2012-12-19 17:55:00 Author: Unknown User |

Just a quick question regarding movers.. Let's say I want the mover to lift the block up, then HOLD that position for a few seconds then come crashing down, how would I go about the holding part? | 2012-12-19 19:12:00 Author: AlexStarkie Posts: 37 |

Extend the duration of time the respective Mover is active for on your Sequencer. | 2012-12-19 19:15:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |
