Hi Ricksnun, you are 37? Well, I am nearly 3 years older But enough from me, lets talk about your level: Its a fantastic adventure! I really felt like Indiana Jones, exploring an old temple Great! Funny gameplay, nice visuals, great illumination and some really tricky riddles! Excellent job!!! | 2012-12-20 17:18:00 Author: avundcv Posts: 2526 |

I really dug (heh... see whut I did thar) this level, a heck of a lot of work and thought went into it. It was a bit slow, but I appreciated the hand holding, I didn't need that much but I think it was better than none, but an option to skip the slow puzzle hints would be cool, or a timer systems that prompts you after a few seconds may be nice. | 2012-12-23 05:21:00 Author: Mr_Fusion Posts: 1799 |
I think there is lots of potential here, and I really dug the look and the atmosphere. The presentation was great (save for a few sections) and it was well organized. However, the constant cutscenes hinting at what to do killed the level for me. The puzzles weren't that challenging to begin with and the constant cutscenes and hints not only broke the flow of the level but also prevented me from figuring things out myself, which is kinda the point of a puzzler. Things such as "look over here, it's the SOLUTION" ruin that. I really dug the bridge and without the clue it would have been a super awesome puzzle. With the clue it ruined it. You should let the player wander and figure things out for him or herself. The one issue I had from a presentation standpoint was the flame section near the beginning with the platforms that moved down. The fire made it hard to see where the platforms were and in tandem with the classic floaty controls, the section was frustrating. Overall, I think you did a good job, but the cutscenes really interfered with the flow and thought process of the player. Allow us to figure things out for ourselves and have some faith in the player's intelligence! If you must include a hint system, please make it optional. working braincells / hand holding bonner stars | 2012-12-26 06:50:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |
