Need controlinator help!

Archive: 6 posts

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a level where the environment changes with the push of the L button. I got it working but Sackboy stops running and your PSN shows over your head whenever the button is pushed. Is there a way to disable that? I have the environment hooked to a controlinator with the player as the transmitter. Also tried it with sackbot with same results. All help is welcome.

Make the movable player into a sackbot, and have the actual player sitting in a moving controllinator. That way you can adjust what the L button does, without it doing the standard things the L button would normally do.2012-12-19 01:59:00

I would set it up like I did in this photo.

The controllinator on the far left is the one the player would sit in, that would transmit to the second controllinator (the first one on the sackbot). This controllinator is set to recieve the players signal, but be sure to turn off override sackbot controls in the tweak options. The second controllinator on the sackbot would just receive the signal from the first via wires to the control inputs. Just don't connect the wire to L, and that will effectively disable the traditional effect of pressing that button. Instead you can have L from the first controllinator do anything you want. To keep track of the the environment I would just use a toggle with a tag, when the tag is on, the environment is one way. When off, it's the other.

Hope this helps!

This controllinator is set to recieve the players signal, but be sure to turn off override sackbot controls in the tweak options. The second controllinator on the sackbot would just receive the signal from the first via wires to the control inputs, meaning you connect the X button to X, O button to O, Right analog stick to right analog stick, and so on.

Just don't connect the left trigger to the other left trigger and that will effectively disable the traditional effect of pressing that button. Instead you can have L from the first controllinator do anything you want. To keep track of the the environment I would just use a toggle with a tag, when the tag is on, the environment is one way. When off, it's the other.

Edit: Or, even easier, just skip the first transmit and connect the player controllinator straight into the sackbot override controllinator. Depending on how you decide to do respawning, that may make it either easier or harder. It does get rid of a controllinator from there though.
