Torn between holidays? Join in the Paranormal Festivities!

This level is a collection of roughly 6 Festivities with widely different gameplay styles, which each combine memorable events of Christmas and Halloween, can be played in any order, and have suitably ludicrous names. Though the gameplay feels a little simpler than what's typical of me, but I've tried my best to make the logic behind it and the visuals my most elaborate. As such, I'm a little nervous, but everything should be polished to a fine sheen now.

I'd like to especially thank Buddydestruction for creating the truly stellar music, as I was even more particular about what I was looking for than usual. Thanks also to Shade_Seeker for playtesting and giving me a little extra inspiration.

I hope you all have a great time with it, and Merry Christmas next week!

Put your thinking caps on players. This is not a hold right to win game. It took me a bit to get the piano right and the grave digging part I thought something was wrong at first, till I figured it out. I liked the method to get the shovel! Very creative and fun. All the games were fun to play and the environment was a pleasure to look at. I do wish the candy canes and candy corns disappeared when you caught them just so it would be easier to gauge how successful you were. (A very minor thing) I very much enjoyed this level and wish you luck in the contest.2012-12-23 14:39:00

Thanks mad-bunny, I had a lot of fun in your level as well. I believe I have the highscore too, woo!

The candy canes/corns do in fact disappear when you catch them, but only with a very direct connection to the stocking's hit area. Through testing, I found that if they hit the sides at all - which is usually the case - they don't disappear, but the score still registers. I'm not sure why this happens, and I am just thankful it works as well as it does, given my limited logic experience.

By the way, has anyone else made it to the Bonus Festivity yet? (Called "Star of Wonder, Star of Fright") I think it's pretty cool and have kind of been kicking myself for not including it with the standard festivities, as I didn't realize so few players would come back for it. Here are some images showing how to find it:

Hey man, I played this a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, especially the reveal at the end! I nearly gave up though as I have never heard the song "Carol of the bells"and fluked my way into the game and I noticed at least one comment about this while the level loaded. I'm probably not the only one so maybe you could count how many errors are made and perhaps trigger the opening sequence before people get put off? You could subtract points too so at least everyone who enters can still play.

Otherwise the mini levels were great! A great effort in a short time, well done!

Having it count the errors is a great idea Ara!! I'll have to implement that after the contest. Right now, I do have the solution plainly present itself if the player spends more than 50 seconds on that screen without getting it, the correct note sequence appears in the lower-left corner. My other - more subtle - hint is if you listen to the wind, you'll hear the tune being played over and over, louder and louder. If you don't know the tune at all, this might not help, which is why I added the written notes too.2012-12-28 00:59:00
