Who can believe that it's already been 100 episodes? Over 4 years ago, our beloved Community Spotlight first opened our eyes to the world of awesome LBP levels, posted right on your front doorstep, here at LittleBigPlanet Central!

Such a momentous occasion just cannot go uncelebrated. So we on the Creator Spotlight Crew thought it would be wonderful to hear a few words from behind the scenes – to speak to the Community Spotlight Crew themselves, and get an idea of what makes them tick.

So without further ado, I present your Crew Members, new and old!

Our heartfelt thanks to biorogue, Ccubbage, Clarie, fireblitz95, GruntosUK, Holguin86, Joey, Matt 82, Morgana25, Mr_Fusion, Shropshirelass, Taffey, TheAdipose, and WESFUN for agreeing to take part in this interview!

The Spotlight Crew has been going for so long now that it can be quite hard to keep track of all the friendly community folk who've contributed. These tireless volunteers have given their time and energy to bring us the best content that LBPCentral creators have to offer. Let's start off with the basic facts:

When did you join the Spotlight Crew?
Join? You make it sound like an option. I was kidnapped off the dusty streets of LBPC then water boarded...*scuffle sounds* Injection administered *monotone voice* I joined near the end of September 2011 and my first episode as a spotlighter was Episode 69.
I think I joined over two years ago as a 15 year old, around episode 30. It's so long ago now that I'd never be able to give you a precise date though!
January 2010, shortly after the Earth finished cooling.
I was asked by CCubbage to join the Spotlight Crew in March of 2009. They were wrapping up episode 9 and I got to do my first comments and level plays in the 10th edition. That seems like so long ago now!
I joined the backlog crew in time for Episode 60 and moved into the main crew in Episode 66. I got a shiny new badge and everything, apparently
I joined the Spotlight Crew right when episode 45 closed.
I was the 11th Spotlighter. My first Spotlight was Episode 16 on the 27th of June 2009. My last was Episode 32 on the 2nd of February 2010. I still have it memorised. As does the forum.
After all the failed logic experiments I don’t track time too well anymore. I want to say ’76 or ’78, that could be a year or a number though.
It was so long ago I cant remember *checks archives*, March 2009, now I feel old.
November 6, 2012. Yes... I am indeed the newbie, but I'm having great fun playing levels I would've missed just gadding about on my own.
I joined the spotlight crew not too long ago.
So long ago we can't even remember!
I think it was around February of 2009.

What made you want to sign up?
A lot of us in the PSP community had been itching to get some recognition for the levels people were creating, so when the opportunity came up I jumped at it without a second thought. I still remember seeing that glorious PM from ConfusedCartman in my inbox.
Ha. Want to? They begged me to join...
Get that needle away from me! I'll tell the "truth." I had been shuffling around the various forums for some time and really was thinking that I wanted to do more, I just didn't know what. This opportunity presented itself and I thought, "why not?" and submitted an application and oila, the suck...erm..the crew let me in.
I wanted to be a part of a great family of creators. It seemed like the best bet coming to the LBPC spotlight team because it was the very first forum I joined and it feels so welcoming here. I also am part of COTC for Planetarium so I already had experience in this so it was only a matter of time before I came here.
Actually, I had never HEARD of the Spotlight until one day I came on the site and found “Splat Invaders Saga” had been spotlighted. I was pretty excited. A few days later I got a message from OCK asking me if I wanted to join the crew. It sounded like a lot of fun!
Ccubbage said he had compromising photos of me and a goat, how could I refuse?
Fame, fortune, adoration and the chance to work with some of the talented guys on LBP. Mostly the latter. A little bit also the former.

Yes, yes, sign up my friends - join one of the best LBP community teams around! Suckers...

Shortly after signing up however, these poor wretches would soon find out just how many levels the community were capable of publishing, all during the course of just two weeks. For the most dedicated, the dreaded Spotlight Deadline would take up much of their thoughts. Sleep? Sleep was for the weak!

How much time each week do you spend playing levels?
I shudder to think. I can only estimate how many levels I played in my time on the crew. I left the crew in episode 46 (August 2010) and after 36 episodes you loose track. I know I spent hours and hours after work playing levels to get through them in the beginning.

I played every level in the showcase for months and months until we started to break up the workload more sensibly. It wouldn't be unusual for me to spend 4-6 hours a night on weeknights and anywhere from 4 - 10 hours on a weekend, sometimes more, getting through the entire showcase for the two weeks worth of eligible levels. So ya, I'd rather not do the math on that. It was fun most of the time and after you play that many levels you start to get a real feel for what makes a good level work and what a great level has that a good one lacks.
If I remember correctly, there wasn't the sheer volume back then, we had it pretty much covered. I know I kept on creating a lot through it and still played the required amount (I'm probably looking back with rose tinted specs, one of the others is bound to pipe up I was a lazy so and so)
At its peak the PSP Spotlight was never totally out of control, but there was always a steady flow of stuff to play. I'll say an hour or two a night most nights.
Too many to count. I was unemployed for most of the time I was a Spotlighter so was free to play all day and night. Often I did just that.
Wow, more than I care to admit. No, in the beginning for me we were averaging over a hundred levels in a 2 week period, so you had to stay on top of it lest you fall way behind. I was playing 2 hours a weekday night and probably 5 to 6 hours on Saturday and Sunday, so about 25+ hours a week. Now with Vita and Karting out, we've slowed way down on the PS3 side, so my play time is closer to 10-15 hrs a week.
The easy answer is. . . "Not half as much as Bio"

What's the longest you went without sleep to make a Spotlight Deadline?
Nearly two days... *twitch*
Not sure whether we lost any sleep. I certainly burned a lot of dinners in the oven whilst I was busy playing levels though.
Ah, the benefit of time travel, I usually am a day or so ahead of everyone, so I sometimes feel like an elf making shoes, or at the very least fixing the laces of the pretty much fully polished shoes.
I generally caught up on my sleep playing the bad levels.
Never. I’ve always loved video games, and have loved LBP since it was released – but I also feel balance is necessary. I can’t function at work if I don’t sleep…
Oh.... I was probably awake anyway. I really don't have numbers for this either. Late nights were not unusual for me.

What's the most levels you have ever played through for a single spotlight episode?
300ish.... levels...
127
I played 30+ levels all in one shot for Spotlight 47 or 48 I believe. More than enough to fully drain the battery on my PSP.
I think the most I remember was in the hundreds... it's all sort of a blur
No idea. LBP was pretty popular when I was on the team though so there were a lot of levels to get through.

But it's not about Quantity, but Quality too - Let's not forget that the crew don't just play the levels - they have to actually form some sort of opinion of that level, too. I can't go any further without finding out who are the softies in the crew, and who are the tougher nuts to crack!

When playing levels, there must be those of you who are particularly difficult or easy to please - which of these are you?
I noticed in my time on the crew that there were three kinds of spotlighters. Ones that were impressed by eye candy alone, those that wanted technical proficiency and envelope pushing and those that demanded both. I'd like to think I was in that last group but honestly I probably fall into the first category sometimes. Visual charm goes a long way on selling me on a level that has moderately good gameplay. So ya, I'm fairly easy to please for gameplay and story if the visuals are exceptional.
I like to think I was fairly strict. Though good character art had me forgiving all kinds of flaws.
I have a theory that Bio, Fusion and I tend to be easier to please. We sometimes get carried away by the fun or adrenalin rush we get from a level and give it a yes without being too pernickety. That’s fine most of the time but it can be taken too far and I always used to rely on Oneeyedbanshee to keep us in line. He may only have had one eye but it was very discerning one.
A bit of both. We'd feel really bad turning levels down for spotlighting when we knew how much effort the creators had put in to them. However, the spotlight has a really important role in pointing people in the direction of really great levels, and if we were to spotlight levels just to please the creator then we would devalue that. This is why we pushed for the introduction of the 'nod' section, which we are really pleased to see is still in there.
Me. I am picky to my own detriment. I play every level assuming it's terrible, and leave it up to the level to prove to me that it's worth half a snot. Luckily, we have some massively talented folks in the community so I was very often pleasantly surprised at what I'd end up playing.
I’m pretty friendly and forgiving, I appreciate effort, but will go bonkers if there has been no testing.

With all this time dedicated to the Spotlight, you would think that every member would turn into a shadow of their former selves - sat in the corner of a darkened room, crying out for mercy. You could be forgiven for wondering if a Spotlighter might become bitter, resentful for the time they sink into such a large project. But that would never happen, of course!

.... Right?

Have you ever felt resentful for the time you've lost playing levels on the Crew? Time you could have spent elsewhere, like on your own creations, for example?
We never felt resentful of the time: we gave it willingly for the community because we wanted to. However, after the publication of each spotlight there would always be a few people who would be upset that their level hadn't been included, who accused us of favouritism, or not playing all the levels, or of only playing the levels of 'famous creators'. We felt resentful of that, because it just wasn't true. It's hard to consistently work for something when there are people consistently saying that you aren't doing the work. Also, in being a spotlighter you have to play a huge number of really not so great levels, and I think that being on the team was pretty much the beginning of the end of playing LBP for us.
Not at all. I have nothing but fond memories of my time as a Spotlighter. Morgana, Grantos UK, Zwollie and young Coxy 224 were my fellow crew members. They all made levels while on the team. As did I. If you needed 'time off' to create it wasn't a problem. Occasionally it would be frustrating trying to find the time to play and comment on all the levels, especially after I started work. And there were the inevitable fall outs when people got upset that they didn't get picked but the good outweighed the bad by a long way.
Resent... hmmmm... recalcitrant, maybe, but not resent. I do look at my moon full of completed content for a stalled series though. CURSE YOU!
Not resentful per se, but I do like a bit of create mode and that was one of the reasons why I ended up leaving the crew, so I could spend more of my dwindling free time making more levels.
Well here's the thing I'm sort of a LBP addict and I cant go without looking at something non LBP related for more then 1 hour. . .

*Looks around room at posters and hugs Sackboy plushie.*

There now, that's better.
Quite the opposite in fact. I stole was inspired by many of the great ideas I saw in all those community levels I played.

You meant to say that they still do this willingly? There's no bribery involved at all?

Not even a crumb of cake?

So, you volunteered to join this crew? Are you certifiably insane? You've heard about the hazing, right?
While undergoing the tough trials of being hazed. I still enjoy everyone's company very much. However, I'm sure we'll be hiring again soon enough, then I will be the hazer... MUHAHA!
BLAGAGAGAGAGAGAAAA! the hazing!? is it going to steal my cookies! aargggggggg!*

Hmm, intriguing. . .

With new crew members coming on board in almost a constant stream, and with LBP's community shifting, splitting and changing so much, the crew must find it difficult to adjust.

How have things changed for you since you joined the Spotlight Crew?
The biggest change that has come about is more cookies in the break room. I think I've gained 10 pounds just reading posts. The other change that occurred during my reign membership, would have to be the hub and in game news feed. This has been instrumental in getting more attention to the Spotlights and thus the creators themselves, which is what the goal is. I can't thank MM enough for doing this.
I was [active] for a year, I blame my baldness and alcohol problem on the spotlight. I left for the good of my, and their health The levels on the showcase are huge compared to what they were, also, we only had LBP1 to worry about, not all the other games that are in the franchise. I don't envy the current spotlighters at all.
Generally speaking, I'm only around to provide cookies now. . .
The only difference is that the spotlight isn't getting the attention it used to get by the community.
I still keep a foot in the door (I like to feel involved, you see ) We still share cookies and oreos in the spotlight thread but no, I'm not nearly as active in there, or even on LBPCentral or LBP as a whole any more. I still keep an eye on the latest levels and queue them up, and will hopefully find more time soon to get onto the PS3 and play them!
I post threads for the crew now and occasionally chime in with an opinion from the "old school" of spotlighting. I read all the threads though. Unfortunately I don't get a chance to play many levels now but when I do manage to squeeze some time in I go right for the Spotlight list levels.
I think I joined into a world that was just seeing change with Hubs and newsfeeds. Oh and my costume changed to include a shiny helmet of sorts.

It's incredible to think that 100 episodes have gone by so quickly. I can even remember reading through some of the original spotlights back in the day, and jotting down level names to go check them out. I was always watching from a distance then, I never really spoke on LBP forums then, as I didn't have much to say. Times have certainly changed for me too!

It's time to get under the surface and find out what exactly goes on behind the scenes; How is a level chosen for a spotlight? What the heck is a nod? What happens when you let Biorogue loose with google's image search?

Let's find out

How on earth do the Spotlight Crew manage to play every single level in the showcase? You must have some sort of secret!
You just need to start playing the levels early to keep on top of them. Often we were preparing for the next spotlight as the first was being published.
Actually, there IS a secret in my case. In order to promote being active on the site, in the early days of the spotlight you were only eligible to be spotlighted if you had 15% activity. So, we could skip playing levels which weren’t eligible to be spotlighted. This was one of the main ideas that changed during my tenure on the crew. Unfortunately, removing that requirement suddenly required a LOT more playing and a bigger crew.
In the early days, each of us played every level. As the number of levels increased it became pretty clear that it wasn't really reasonable to expect that sort of time from every member so we ended up splitting the workload so at least a few crew members played it and we would decide from their opinions. If it was spotlight material everyone would play it so they could comment on it. Every level in the showcase does get played though.
Some crew members make clones of themselves, others opt for time travel. Personally, I prefer plugging directly into the Imagisphere using this Matrix-style socket I've had installed in the back of my head.
Do nothing, rely on your fellow spotlighters, bask in the glory.
Whilst we were on the team a method of managing this was introduced, although I don't know if it is still in effect. Essentially every level published to the showcase was added to a chart (designed by Compher I think). When a spotlighter had played a level they rated it something like 'definite no', 'maybe'. If two people played a level and both said 'definitely no' then no one else had to play it. If it got rated 'maybe' then everyone would play it and we'd discuss it. So every level got played at least twice, but not every level got played by every member of the team.

Not that there is really a magic formula per say, but I am sure many would love to ask: What do you feel makes a level amazing, and what are the things you feel makes it worth spotlighting?
Detail, detail, and more detail! Be sure to cram pack your level with tons of breathtaking scenery. I also like a good level with a point system, however, make sure the score bubbles are divided up neatly. *Last but not least you've always gotta try to bring something new to the table, I know that it's hard to do but with the Karting and Vita versions being released now just about anything is possible in the LittleBigPlanet series.
When I look at a level I hope for it to be the best it can be. I try to look past if its flaws are there. Or if it isn't good in one area. I try to dig deep into the level. A creation should be made with your heart and the inspiration that guided you there. Making a level can and is challenging for most individuals in this community. Just try and am for you instincts. I also love looking at details and how logical the level is. great detail and logic can make a level really fun look amazing and just overall changes the overall atmosphere of a level.
You can tell when someone puts time and energy into a level. They pay attention to those little details in the appearance of the level. A great looking level really goes a long ways. How is the ambiance of the level? Does the deco fit the theme? Does the music and sounds? What about lighting? Sometimes lighting is crucial and can really set the tone/mood for a level. Is it a clean design, meaning, can I see any gaps? How well does the level flow from one area to the next? Gameplay. I want to stay busy in the level. I don't like downtime. Don't have me running halfway across the level to just jump over a little spike trap then run another mile to just grab a sponge swing. No. Give me something to do.
A level has to surprise me in some way. And how do you surprise me? Well by being surprising of course! If I knew what surprised me I wouldn't be surprised. Wasn't that a silly question.
Originality, well polished, good story or gameplay, use of lights, use of music, use of materials, overall... a nice combination that makes the level sexy.
Pick up and play for the player, testing from the creator. You end up having to learn ‘new’ controls for 10 levels, try to keep the button layout normal. I mean, moving jump to L3!!!?

GAHHHH!

rrrRRRRRAAAAAGGGGEEEeeee...

sorry.

*Hands Fusion a cookie*

There, there, we feel your pain.

What is the difference between a 'Spotlight' and a 'Nod', anyway?
A spotlight is a level which we would unreservedly recommend. A nod is a level or creator which has a great element which we felt deserved recognition, but the overall level isn't quite of the level of a spotlight. It was kind of controversial when we were setting it up. We pushed for it's inclusion because we empathised with the frustration of those creators who had done something great, but just weren't at the level of a spotlight. E.g. a first time creator who had made a level which was outstanding for a first time creation, but in amongst all of the old timers didn't stand a chance. Others weren't so keen on the idea because they felt it kind of diluted the spotlight, and made it even worse for those who got neither a spotlight or a nod. As a compromise we made the nod section much more brief with no pictures or long comments.
Nods, in general, are excellent levels, that people should check out but in some way don't quite have the whole package. Could be a lack of polish in some way or gameplay that just doesn't quite flow well or a million other reasons that it just dosn't quite reach spotlight quality. It's a completely subjective scale spotlighters use so a levels reasons for being a Nod versus full spotlight are as varied as there are kinds of levels and creators.
Part of it is the mood I’m in! Heh... I guess a Nod is this feeling or understanding of the thought, testing and effort that has gone into the creation, something that is new or feels fresh. Getting to a full spotlight is when all the concepts mesh and that feeling melds with how the level flows.

tl:dr: Bribes.
The difference between a Spotlight and a Nod is quite simple. If your level gets spotlighted well it is because we found it original, well polished and overall sexy and awesome. If your level got a Nod well it is because it missed a bit of lipstick, blush and eyeliner, but it still deserves recognition!
A nod is what you get when your Spotlight crew is too scared to tell people their creations didn't make the grade
Generally speaking, a nod means someone on the crew loved the heck out it but maybe couldn't get everyone else to agree. Rest assured that for every single nod listed in each Spotlight, a cage-style bare knuckles boxing match took place that left one of the crew members incapacitated.

You guys must see your fair share of, let's say, not-so-awesome levels which were possibly made with a cookie cutter. Have there always been a lot of these levels posted to the forums? Are there still a lot of these kind of levels around? Essentially, do you feel that the ratio of Rocket Cheetah Fuel to Bomb Survival Cardboard has increased, or decreased, and why?
Oh goodness, I'm going to catch it for this but I have to be honest and say that yes, there are still quite a few of the "not so awesome" levels. Not so much in the way of Bomb/shark survivals but other ways. I'm just going to say it. Quit with the zombie levels already!
I never had a problem with Rocket Cheetahs or bomb survivals. I never played them in the first place. I rarely played anything on LBP without some kind of recommendation first and thankfully, even the poor LBPC Showcase levels were above that standard.
There were still quite a few of them back when I was active on the crew. I can't say if there are more or less than there used to be since I, like most of the community I think, has gotten a lot better at using lbp.me, fansites and friends hearted pages to find quality levels without slogging through the rehashed level types out there.
They're still around and in force, although often they disguise themselves as something you didn't expect. Often I would be lured into a level's non-bomb-survival-y-ness only to encounter a story mode scorpian [sic] and become horrified anew. You know that whole "surprise me" thing I mentioned earlier? Yeah, this is not the kind I meant.
Usually I keep in mind that the creator cares enough about their work to post it in the Showcase. So even if things aren’t glued and it has stairs I keep an open mind so I can’t really comment. But yes, overall quality has gone waaay up.
I think as long as people can take a simple, non-creative idea and people flock to it – they’ll create junk. I think the vast majority of published levels are… junk. In the same way record companies will flock to a particular song type and copy it like crazy as long as people will buy it. I’m not complaining – it’s just the way people are. If kids see bomb survivals being popular, they will create... bomb survival levels. My son recently created a bomb survival… I still love him.

There is rumour that you guys have your own magical room in the Central Forum, where no other Sacks dare to go. They call it The VAULT. What happens in The Vault? Pie fights? Cookie rationing? Holding one's breath for hours at a time?
Oh, deary me. Well, ah, leaving the tire swing and free buffet out of the picture, it's a very...... interesting... place. I'm not going to say that things go on in there that would be unacceptable in the public forums, but I'm not not going to say that they don't not take place either. Wait, I just confused myself.
It's where we abused everyone else on the board and each other. Morgana was the worst. She truly is vicious.
What happens in the vault, stays in the vault.... there are a lot of cookies in there though.
A few thing go on in there, there is the room of ‘Woah!’ for example, it contains 6ft statue of a roguish sackboy and most of us stop by to throw flowers at it’s feet and just stare at it in awe.
This is a family forum, and not the place to discuss such things.
What happens in the Vault, stays in the Vault. That said, I can best answer in pictures.

Shortly after the demise of the PSP Spotlight, the crew recently split into three: PS3, Vita and Karting. Do you feel this has had any impact on the way the crew now works? Are things harder to keep organised and under control than they used to be?
I'm just glad there are awesome community members here willing to play all these formats and spoon feed the rest of us the best of the best so we don't fill up on other stuff.
If anything, I think it's made us better. I think we realized that in order to stay on top of it, we'd have to be even more organized than we already were. We're still working out the kinks but I feel we'll be a well oiled machine before too long.
I left the Spotlight the episode before the PSP stuff was introduced. I was still allowed access to the Spotlighter forum for years afterwards though and it all seemed pretty easy to keep separate where necessary.
Well... it’s harder to keep track of who needs help, and also who is going to extra efforts on the other side of the wall. So sometimes you feel a bit guilty when you realise that some folks have done 2x the work when it’s too late to do anything to help.
The only thing that has changed from my perspective is that there are more flavors of cookies available now.

Like Lass, I joined the crew around the time of the great LBP2 backlog. *Shudder*.

Things have come a long way. New games have been released, the hub, and our dearest friend Hubbie have come along to the party, and new members have walked through the doors (and right back out again in some cases! I blame Bio. That guy's a proper slave-driver!).

It's time to pop you all in the hotseat! These are the questions everyone is really dying to know!

That many people in The Vault together... there must have been some... tension. Which Spotlighter was the biggest flirt on the crew?
Erm what? How long have I been gone...
Biorogue of course. . . that hussy!
Are you kidding me? Just look at Ria's avatar! Hubba hubba.
Does using a lot of winkie smilie faces qualify for this?
Well, Bio is flirted with the most . . .
The goat that got me into this sorry mess in the first place :S

We can't all be sweetness and light 24/7, we're all allowed to throw our toys out of the pram once in a while. I imagine whilst debating the merits of levels there were a few temper tantrums! Who had the most hissyfits?
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Everyooneee?
Coxy. If he wants to show you his Pokemans [sic], just let him. It's not worth the fallout to turn him down, trust me.
Matt82, he's a man from a place where men wear skirts, go figure no one had hissyfits, we were a well oiled machine, mostly....
You mean about things like:

Badly Posted Threads.
Duplicate Threads.
Missed Deadlines.
People not reading the guidelines.
Not posting recipes. . .

Ermmm... no comment.

Just because you're all tasked with playing levels from the showcase, it doesn't mean that you're technically a skilled player. Which spotlighter is actually pretty talentless when it comes to playing levels?
Well, I’m going to nominate myself for this one. I’m not exactly talentless but I do remember thinking how on earth am I going to review Mission ImPAWssible or Master of Mometum, when I got stuck about 2 minutes into the levels and couldn’t finish them to save my life! That’s when I resort to the “Not so much Master of Momentum as Master of Dangling Limply above Spikes!” style of review! Oh yeah and I also thought I’d nominate myself for this before Ria gets in first and nominates me anyway, because she always pwns me when we tackle the multiplayer levels. I do have a very heart warming memory of knocking her flying into two cogs recently and seeing her crushed (and I mean completely pulverised) between them. So yeah
Bio for sure Did he just vote for himself?
Me
Definitely me, I suck at LBP.
All of us... no more ‘Can you survive?’ stages; we can’t survive, we all tried.
Me again. If I'm not the most talentless player that's ever been on the crew, I will eat my shorts.
Rialrees.

. . .

I love you. Please don't kill me. Oh no, Joey, don't worry. You have no idea what I have in store for you. . .

Here you go Taffey, enjoy your shorts.

Is there anyone on the crew who just wouldn't be quiet? Who'd keep talking no matter how much you ignored them? Who'd just go on, and on, and... hey guys, are you still listening?
Taffey
Well... Taffey has a podcast...
fireblitz85
I would have to say me at the moment, of course this changes occasionally.
This would have to be Ria! She is an inveterate user of the chat in Editgrid. It’s a way we can talk to each other while we fill in our verdicts for the different levels but Ria just loves to chat and you’re as likely to hear about her latest cooking exploits/icecream addiction/create frustrations as you are level verdicts. It’s lovely though and it’s part of what makes being on the crew such fun.

Yes. . . fun.

I'm sure you're thinking that while I'm blabbing away in your earpiece on PSN chat, and you're snoring on the sofa.

I heard you. You can't hide it.

You're all asked to write reviews about the levels you play. Many of you are very witty in your reviews - The Vault must be a mine of jokes, whoopie cushions and cymbal crashes.Which spotlighter is the biggest joker?
There's jokes in there? Is there a sub-forum I don't know about?
Taffey!.. Oh I miss you Taf!
Taffey
WESFUN. I mean c'mon, the word "fun" is in his name for crying out loud.
I should say me... because that’s a pretty good joke in itself
I’d have to nominate Fusion and Bio jointly for this one. Fusion posts some great, dryly funny things in the vault and Bio’s level reviews always crack me up. It’s great working with them both.

You guys already mentioned the sheer amount of baked goods that get thrown around The Vault nowadays. Despite the fact that you have no oven or ingredients to speak of, who makes the best cookies?
"Makes?" Who posts the best pics? Taffey
Taffey again
Taffey
Taffey hands down.
Mr_Fusion!
Cookie pictures or real cookies? More tasting is required of both.
If this was an award for cakes then Fusion would win hands down. He posts photos of his Halloween cakes every year and they are just the most awesome, cavity creating, heart attack inducing confections and they look amazing too. If Ria would allow it, I’d post one here just to show what I mean.

What, this one?

http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/4711/photo2snd.jpg

Gives me a sugar coma just looking at it.... Mmmm. Pumpkins...

If you were to go to a fancy dress party, all dressed up as characters from Star Wars, who would be the most likely crew member to wear THE Princess Leia costume (and look pretty darned good in it to boot)?
Again. Is there a sub-forum you guys aren't telling me about?
Pfffsttt Morgana25 of course!
Schoolgirl123 of course!
Holguin86, no question.
Shropshirelass... but that's just a guess really.
You promised that we would never speak of the week where OEB went insane!
Grayspence with his afro would be totally hot
Taffey, but only when he does his hair in those sexy swirls
W

ell the answer to all of them is Morgana of course. Except the last one. Grant takes that honour. Man, I'd be his Chewbacca any day.

Want some cake??? Well you can't have it! Silly Spotlighters.

http://imgur.com/7NigL.png

So there we have it!

100 episodes. What was the point of it all? What has the spotlight added to LBPC?

Despite the fact that it's probably part of the reason half of us came here in the first place (me included), the fact that it gives players a place to find levels (well before the days of lbp.me), and creators the chance to be celebrated for their work? Forgetting the thousands of levels now residing in Hubbie's hearted list, still waiting to be discovered by players new to the LBP universe?

I could go on (and Lass knows it), but you know where I'm going with this.

In a nutshell, the Community Spotlight is awesome. And I'm so proud to be a part of it. Whilst the extra work can get a little stressful at times ( ), it's great to see our little family of LBP addicts grow, and even better to be part of a group who are still doing all we can to ensure that players everywhere know where the best levels can be found. A group who doesn't judge a creator by the hearts on their profile, how many plays they've racked up, or the ribbons around their levels, but purely on how fun their levels are.

I'm fairly sure that they're not going anywhere. So long as you guys keep publishing good stuff, the Spotlight Crew will go play it.

So, shall we say, another 100 episodes?

:3

Well, that's all, folks! We hope you have enjoyed this installment of the Creator Spotlight. For past spotlights, please visit this link (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?100-Creator-Spotlight-Archive). See you next time!

Whoot! Glad to finally let this baby out of the hat!

Thanks so much to everyone who willingly gave their time to answer these probing questions, and thanks to jww for letting us hijack the creator spotlight this week - we do like to milk the celebrations somewhat, don't we?!

To all my fellow crew - don't kill me. I captured you all as humanely as I could!

And I apologise to all those of you who are bound to suffer from eye strain reading this MONSTER of an interview. I just would have felt too bad editing too many answers out - it's the spotlight crew's time to shine - for a change!

Congrats to all the Spotlighters and thanks so much for all your cooperation! Hope nobody was terribly injured during the capture and interrogation. lol

All you folks work so hard every single week and was just a joy to help a bit in seeing this one come into a reality. However Ria deserves all the credit! She came up with the idea and did all the organization. We just helped a bit on questions and such.

Thanks to you all and congrats! Happy 100th!!

Aaw, Ria! Great read!

I loved the interview and I read every word, promise! Such a great idea and so nice to hear from all those past members of the crew. Really honoured to be part of it. I had to laugh, though, when almost every single spotlighter who answered, voted for themselves as the worst player, lol.

It makes me feel all warm glowy. THANK YOU! <3

Oh, and I do NOT snore, whatever the provocation, lol!

That was an interesting read, it even has me thinking back on some of the older spotlights and remembering how things changed over the years. This site has seen a real roller coaster of insanity!

Y'all keep picking 'em and I'll keep playing 'em!

Great stuff, you guys deserve a huge cake/beer/goat for the time you've all donated over the last few years, especially after reading HOW much time you sometimes have to put in to just to get this out on time for us & the site. Massive thanks from me!2012-12-16 23:58:00

I think it was one of those things that for some, after you got crown you went a bit native. Some more than others!!!

The one thing I couldn't see was if the chest was done properly. It was obscured. 2 words: pimple nipples.

That was a great interview. Video was brilliant too lol. I just want to say thanks to all the spotlighters because you're so integral to how lbp works. Promoting a level in some ways is as important as creating the level because if you create a level and nobody plays it, what's the point in creating the level? And if you've worked for months and months on a level, all the agonising bugs to fix, and nobody plays it, it's very hard to take. But thanks to people like you guys in lbpcentral, you genuinely play every level posted in the threads and really help the creators to get noticed. Thanks you guys! I have to thank you for spotlighting Astro Lander this week. Because this was my very first LBP2 level, so I had zero recognition, and it would have got lost. But from previous experience I know how helpful lbpcentral is, so this was the first and only place I needed to come to find help. And you've all helped a whole bunch. And thanks to this site, I've played some other amazing levels I probably would never have found otherwise.

Sorry for the essay

Congratulations on your 100th episode!

Yay, this does indeed bring back memories! Thanks everyone for a great few years on the crew, and to Ria, jww and Taffey for such a good spotlighter's spotlight!

This has made me want to play LBP again so much that I'm now booting up my PS3 and installing 3 months' worth of updates

Now THAT was a good read!

I have to say, to all you creator curators spotlighter people, good job making it to 100 and thank you so much for the time spent! The community does (or at least it'd better!) appreciate all you've done. Really, Spotlights are the best place to find a lot of non-sucky stuff to play. And anybody who doesn't think so can tell it to my large orange monkey named Ralf!

Thanks so much to everyone for all your hard work over the years! This is such a great asset to creators looking to get their levels attention amidst the torrent of rubbish published every week. The Spotlight has always been my go-to spot for fun levels to play and also something to constantly aspire to in my creating (some day darn it!). You guys are awesome! 2013-04-26 18:55:00
