pre race player input?

hey guys
I've been trying to make logic acknowledge pre-race input/choices from the player but been unsuccessful. I'm trying to set something up so the player can choose modes, colours, whatever during the opening cutscenes before the 3,2,1 GO

However, everything I try has been unsuccessful - nothing seems to be reacting to input from the player. I've tried putting controlinator on the spawn point AND the cutscene spawn point. I've made sure they are set to P1... and I've made sure they have batteries attached..
And now I'm out of ideas.

any suggestions?

I just fiddled around trying to do it, couldn't find a way. I'm not sure there is one, so far the only thing I've seen is the option to skip >.>2012-12-16 18:40:00

Have you enabled the controller during cutscenes? I can't think of a story mode level where you do something like this before a race, I wonder if it's possible. It would be great if so - set up the race how you like it with lighting, music, kart controls and physics.2012-12-16 19:16:00

I was hoping to use it for the player to be able to pick race, time trial or eliminator - all on the same course
and I think I enabled controller - i did it in the camera... how would you do it?

I know it's LBP2 but you might be able to do the logic in LBPK; after you follow everything from the video, make 2 different logics, one for time trial, the other for eliminator, have them de-activated until choosen.
