Wipeout - Qualifier (TV Show)

Archive: 7 posts

I don't have a camera or any of that jazz, so this is gonna be text

It's my second level so it's pretty simple. Nothing flash really, I just tried to emulate the TV show into LBP. I think it's the best one out there, but I may be being a bit biased Search my psn (BizzyBox) for the easiest find.

I can do 7 F4F if anyone wants.

Thank you

Hey man, i just played through your level like 4 times trying to get the high score. its a bit short for a full level, but just right for multiple plays hoping to get the best time. i would throw in some music, and sound effects, but for a little challenge level i like it. maybe a background would be nice too...

only if you want to, my F4F is in my sig

Hey, just gave your level a go and had a goot time trying to beat your highscore. here's my feedback:

+Good colour scheme
+I liked the simplicity
+original challenges (the pile of blocks and the boxing gloves)

-Not enough incentive to do the challenges, I found myself falling off onto the glass and completing the level in the same amount of time or faster, try electrifying them and adding a checkpoint before each challenge so if you die you can try again straight away.
-You can run straight over the boxing gloves with a well timed jump before you get to them
-no music or background. try adding these and also playing with the level colour modifier to get some cool effects.
-Short. It shouldn't be hard to add a couple more challenges
-Start of the level drops you straight onto the starting post, may be better if you have to walk onto it and this caught me out first time i played it as the controller was on the side

Overall though I did play your level a couple of times and did enjoy it so well done on it so far!

For F4F pleas play my ray mears' level, its in my sig and my PSN is turnipeater

Hey there, i'll take in all your suggestions later when I get on LBP .

As for the short issue, I tried to emulate the show as best as possible, but the obstacles do vary so I'm thinking about making another course.
I'll add an invisible dark matter wall next to the boxing gloves to prevent running on top of them!

Hey man,

I thought it was a great idea to use the show as a level idea.

Pros+
-Punchout and Big Balls, very funny to see them in LBP
-Overall idea

Ideas"
-Penelty for falling is not enough. You could make a desolve wall baring the way out with a proxy sensor attached to a timer so there person has to stand there for X amount of seconds. (if you're, or anyone else reading this, not sure how to make a timer drop me a line, its pretty easy when you see it)
-Sounds, you could add a bunch of people cheering/people laughing when people finish or fail each part.
-More, you could have a little break area where that part ends then add a new race that looks like final wipeout or some of those 2nd round games.

That was fun, GJ

Hey mate, thanks! I'll F4F your level when I get on my ps3 .

Just a general inquiry, if I edit a level, then I overwrite the existing published version with the new one, will it keep the hearts and plays that the old version had?

overwrite keeps all the stats for your level, you just see a comment saying when it was republished.2009-01-20 04:45:00
