The year is almost over so I guess to end the 10 year annniversary is to have a poll on your favorite game of R&C.2012-12-14 01:22:00

i'm voting for A Crack in Time, because that's actually the only one I've played. Well, aside one from PSP but that one was terrible. At least it seemed like that to me, it was called "Size Matters", or something.2012-12-14 01:55:00

I hated Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank. I didn't put up All 4 One or Full Frontal Assault because I haven't played them yet.2012-12-14 02:58:00

The one's I've played are Up Your Arsenal, Deadlocked, Secret Agent Clank, Tools of Destruction, A Crack in Time, and All 4 One.
I have to say my personal favorite is Tools of Destruction, because nostalgia, even though the best game in my opinion would be A Crack in Time.

That must explain why I hated it. I have the PS2 version.

I have the psp version. having played the ps2 version also I can safely tell you they are identical. as in there's zero difference at all. the only reason some seem to prefer the psp one I think is just the novelty of having ratchet and clank on the go. the controles suck in both games, the story sucks in both games, the weapons are terrible in both games, clank giant clank and hover board sections massively suck in both games... need I go on?2012-12-16 10:19:00

ps2 is different. The sounds are different, the camera is worse, when cutscenes are over and back to the game the music stops, No online multilayer and stages are different, 2 player only mutiplayer, Controls were worse than psp. the weapons works also have returning weapons like suck cannon and agents of doom. They work the same from other ps2 R&C games. psp version was more playable also 0% lag on multiplayer.
Let me tell you something.
Game created:
PSP:2007
PS2:2008
You would think it would be improved but no. it's worse.
Something tells me you didn't beat the game or go even further in the game.

nope, 100% the psp one, and beat the story once through on ps2. these glitches you're talking about were never seen, and living in UK means that psp online never worked anywho, so I never missed out on that. both games are the same and both games are aweful, it's just the problems are more obvious in the ps2 version as the original games are on the ps2 to compare it to, you're less forgiving of the hardware.
tbh, I think the worst one is secret agent clank, as a spinoff, it's the same as regular RaC games just with way more tacked on minigames and weaker weapons.

Im sure the ps2 is different. I've played the heck out of the psp version since 2007. There is a reason why the ps2 version is lower (6 in IGN) than the psp version. (8 in IGN) Like I said before about the problems on the ps2 version, the problems only happen on the ps2.
Secret agent clank isn't that bad to be honest. It did include R&C weapons from 1-size matters and some new ones. Enemies from 2-4 also. Clank was actully good if you are into stealth.

As I said earlier, the ps2 one is given a lower score as it's competing with the core ratchet games on ps2, and as you've said, It was a straight port, with nothing done to fix exsisting problems.
clank is alright, but I just feel that as a spinoff we should have gotten a clank game, rather then a ratchet one with a clank skin. plus the skillpoints were ridiculous.

I knew the ps2 version wasn't good as the other ps2 games without buying it. Im dead serious when It comes to differences between 2 versions. I've played the psp version today and none of the things I said for the ps2 version happened. so the ps2 had "The sounds are different, the camera is worse, when cutscenes are over and back to the game the music stops, No online multilayer and stages are different, 2 player only mutiplayer, Controls were worse than psp."
Camera- It was more clunky probably because the camera is in the way when 90% of shooting enemies will effect the camera. The psp atleast tried to prevent that.
Controls- It seems to not be as good on the psp version but close. They feel...slippery for ME.
Cutscenes- The cutscenes are the same but music stops when you are back to the game on the ps2 version. Psp had no problem with that.
Multiplayer- No online, ( I forgive that because the ps2 servers were done back then and now ) The stages have changed like Dange Valley for example, the big tower you can get in with gravity boots is gone in the ps2 version. Also NO DEATHMATCH on the ps2 version. It's 2 players only but the psp can go up to 4 players.
It's not 100% the same.

Personnally, I have never encountered those glitches. I believe the camera is due to the introduction of the right analouge stick too. I will not argue over this anymore, as it seems that it's going no-where.2012-12-19 07:35:00

I agree about getting nowhere part we're saying the same thing over and over again. all that MATTERS is R&C is awesome.

I had no idea people disliked Size Matters as much as I, I thought about getting All 4 One, as I like a good multiplayer but I heard it wasn't great compared to the ones released around the same time. Maybe I should've gotten at least one new one...2012-12-19 13:11:00

definately try q force, great multiplayer and a refreshing addition to single player (and if you don't like it it's not exactly a huge investment) plus co-op and soon to be a free multiplayer map pack (more are said to be coming too!) plus this week an increased weapon level cap from 3-5. if you didn't already I'd also recomend acrack in time, it's basically classic ratchet done to the best it's ever been (even if it's a tad short on levels...)2012-12-19 16:56:00

Up your Arsenal was the best one. Best soundtrack, gameplay and even the story line was just better than the other ones. I miss that game 2012-12-26 23:41:00

I chose UYA because it didn't had ship levels. I hated them on GC. Anyone noticed that UYA was basically a single objective instead of exploring around almost every planet like GC? also no grindboots in UYA.2012-12-27 01:40:00

I too hated the ship levels in ratchet 2, especially trying for the platinum bolts. my game was glitched so the rings would dissappear and the ships targeting systems would become invisible making it almost impossible to fly accurately, though now looking back I recon having ships like the ratchet 2 ones in multiplayer could be exceptionally good fun.2012-12-27 11:34:00

I really like all the ps2 RaC games, the way they improved for each one of 'em. DeadLock wasn't that interesting imo though. It took away the fun of exploring around. Some of the levels in the earlier games had segments where you just walked around alone puzzle-jumping, it was kinda relaxing or whatevs. Didn't have to shoot my way through non-stop. Looking back at it though it doesn't seem like such a big deal, maybe I was just expecting too much.

When Size Matters came I was really disappointed, but I still today can't really put my finger on why. I was just really angry at the way Clank and Ratchet acted in general. Then Tools of Destruction, I hated the new face the way Ratchet was kinda dumber and less cocky and that they got rid of all the adult jokes. It was.. a kids game... :I Everything was so floaty and slow too. A crack in time saved it a little bit, I love the animations of Dr. Nefarious, quick and funny. I used to rewatch scenes from UYA with Nefarious. Quest for Booty was, uh, well I liked that they used the old cutscene technique from ps2 genre, not a premade movie but ingame-action, where you could put something in the background, at it would show up in the cutscene. The rest was, meh.

Over all I think the ps3 genre just killed all that I fancied in RaC. The music, the faces, the scrips just everything. Mostly the music :c

So, when it comes to gameplay? Dunno~ I mean all of them where playable gameplay-wise atleast. Didn't like the space-stuff in GC or ToD, Nor the planet-selection in CIT. But that's about it

What im suprised is that FFA is tied with ACIT. 2012-12-30 23:07:00

I think thats fair tbh. considering the price, I've gotten alot of gametime out of FFA and the multiplayer is easily accessible due to it being saved onto my Hard drive. ACiT was good yeah, but considering the price was quite short, and even on hardcore mode I'm yet to be properly challenged by it. What I'm trying to say is both have obvious merits, but the quick action of FFA puts it on par with the great story of ACiT. think people who prefer dungeon defenders to skyrim, or fat princess to dark souls.2012-12-31 09:25:00

I never played any R&C games but I voted for Full Frontal Assault because I liked the title. In fact, all are pretty great from that shallow, shallow viewpoint.2012-12-31 09:35:00
