Indecisive Renovations

Archive: 14 posts

Alright here it is!! https://karting.lbp.me/v/2zyv. I know I haven't been as active here but ill be now since I'm on break now! So I have here my next track: Indecisive Renovations. Now I know the name is a bit out there, but i choose to name it this way because I wanted to represent how unsure about even completeing this level. This level has seen so many changes, this level first started out as test track for the collectable in this track, but I felt like i could do more, and here it is, I can say that I was so inspired by a lot of things.

What led this level to have a huge Da Vinci's Hideout theme, was my lack of knowledge of castle interior, I studied hard but I was not able to find a way to implement so I looked to other video games for the inspirations Crash Team Racing(Cortex Castle) and LBP2's Da Vinci's Hideout and of course LBP1 The Gardens. Originally this level was intended to be LBP1's Skate To Victory, but I seen someone do that before so i opted not to do that. So with the layout I had already laid out i continued to improvise.

I really hope you guys enjoy this track, I beileve this track is a great improve from my first track! Also there are collectables for you guys in this track, They are the castle props that I made, So I made them available for you guys to use. Leave feedback if you like to, any is useful to me and be as harsh was want to be I look at all criticism as constuctive! Alright then guys I hope you guys have a blast with this track, I swear my next creations will have more of a narrative and bit even more unique!! Enjoy

I decided to take a risk and record a video of my track. Here is a video I recorded of my camera(NikonD5000). I plan on getting a Happauge Capture card this month enjoy!!

Just two days ago I believe I played the beta version of this with TheAdipose (I'm not positive that it was this level since he was the one picking levels) and I really liked it. I can't wait to play the full version!.

First and foremost this is brilliant. It's big, the tracks are custom, it obviously had lots of work and lots of love.

BUT because of how big it is, the first part with the ramps needs better arrows. Bring down the yellow arrows so you can see them without looking up, and maybe enlarge them a little bit. I went the wrong way and didn't realize it for a minute. That's the only thing.

Oh and I can see the sequencer on the scoreboard.

I really liked the environment, very well done. But the way you placed the weapons in a circle it was possible to pick up one, fire it off immediately so you'd be free to pick up another one from the same group. Combined with the fact that there are rather many of these groups, it can get a bit abusive.2012-12-14 10:00:00

This level looked great, a really good sense of size, it seemed like a vast level.

I liked the open style of the level with multiple pathways here and here but I did struggle to know where to go every lap. It might pay to add some clear arrows or chevrons or guides or some sort, especially as you can easily turn a little too far and lose your bearings.

I can see you've spent loads of time on this track, so many details! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you all who played this track, and for the kind comments, it did take awhile for me to make the track haha, but it was all worth it! I like the outcome of the track, I had a blast making this track, dispite the many freezes and the level deleting itself( Note to all - make sure to make multiple copies of your track, I saved my track and went to test and everything was black pitch black, everything was gone... be aware ). Many thanks to all!

Also thanks to puppenthand666, spacestarv3, caiman_6, Laidbackcat,. I just wanna say thanks for the feedback you guys testing and seeing the overall progression of these track.

@aratiatia Thank you for playing it! I'm glad you liked it I seen what you posted on my level yesterday, So I went in and tweaked somethings here and there, added some chevrons(more cues of where to turn).

Aren't Tomb Many is probably my favorite level in LBPK, so I was very excited to see what this level turned out like when it was finished and it did not disappoint. You once again really did an excellent job with the scenery which is what makes this level such a treat to play. I also enjoyed how you had the multiple paths near the start, that was a nice touch! One last thing I wanted to mention was how much I like the big jump that makes it seem like you are shooting off a ramp, I haven't seen anyone do this before but it was neat how you simulated a jump off the end of a ramp.

Great work!

Again AFP thanks man your kind words, encourages me to keep these tracks coming I just love to create things for the community to enjoy, well I just love to create in general. Make any suggestions on what you guys would like me to do. I really like the idea of being assigned a specific criteria for a track makes it challenge and I really want to push my slef as an artist, heck!! a creator! again thanks AFP!!2012-12-15 01:08:00
