Hullooo again everyone! Welcome to Round 2 of the Tri-sack Contest! This time we're testing your puzzle solving skills. Check out the details below. You can find Round 1 here. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=76328-LBPC-Community-Spotlight-Ep-100-Celebrations-Triplesack-Contest!)The overall scoring and entry rules from Round 1 are repeated too...just in case you weren't paying attention first time round

The Information Desk

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/image.php?u=1752&dateline=1351169290

How does this work?

So guys...after all the times you've been here, I want you to prove me how tough you are and how well you put to good use all the hard work the Spotlight Crew did for your enjoyment.
I want to see how badass you are, but being cool is something you achieve only being awesome in more than one skill.
I want to see how fast your brain cogs work to solve shady clues, I want you to prove me that your mind is as quick as your eyes and I want you to show me how your hands can perform incredible tasks.
So there will be 3 different challenges that will await you.
So, if you want to prove your might and get a nice reward, you must work hard.
I created a scoring system that will award only the ones of you that are more consistent.

How do I enter?

Each round will have its own entry requirements and rules explained separately when it is launched. There will also be an entry form for each round for you to fill in and return to us. When you've completed all 3 rounds, send the three forms via pm to Hubbie by midnight GMT on Sunday 30th December. Please send ALL 3 FORMS IN ONE SINGLE PM at the end of the contest. Your answers will be checked by the spotlight and contest crews, scored in accordance with the system explained below and the results posted as soon as we can manage, what with all the mince pies and partying to be done.

Again, answers in a SINGLE PM containing all the forms, multiple PMs won't be considered for the final score.

Scoring system

Ready for some maths?
Without spoiling the rules of each challenge in advance, I can spill that the first 2 challenges will require you to do a certain number of tasks.
For each SINGLE task you complete and prove, you'll get 1 (ONE) point.
Completing a challenge will net you 3 (THREE) additional points as a bonus to your efforts.
These points will be used as a multiplier for the score you'll get in the 3rd challenge.
So the final score will be determined by the points you net in challenge 1, let's call it "x", plus the points you acquire in challenge 2, let's call it "y", then multiplied by the score you gain in challenge 3, let's call it "z"

The final formula is
(x+y)*z

So you got some pretty easy maths that can lead to unexpected results.

What Prizes are available?

There are three prizes up for grabs, as detailed below. The winners will be asked to choose their prize from the list, with 1st place taking first choice, 2nd place second choice, and so on, until all three prizes are claimed.

As well as the prizes detailed below, the 1st Place winner will be awarded with the LBPCentral Contest Winner Pin!

Prizes:

One Year Subscription to PS Plus
PSN Card: ( ?35 / $50 / €40 )
PSN Card: ( ?25 / $40 / €20 )

NB: The amounts listed for the PSN cards are so calculated to attempt to be as fair to those from differing countries as we can. We hope that they should work out to be about equal in value when redeemed in the PSN Store.

When is the deadline?

Midnight on Sunday 23rd December 2012. Any entries received after this point will not be eligible for the competition. Sorry about that, but it has to end at some point. UPDATE: The deadline has been extended to Sunday, 30th December to give everyone a little more time!

Round Two: Scouring Craftworld

http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m489/psnrialrees/scavenger.png

Hubbie has been worrying about his Great Uncle Hubert who has been missing for a while. Now he's found a page from Great Uncle Hubert's diary in the biscuit tin. It suggests that his Great Uncle set off travelling, but he should be back by now. Hubbie suspects foul play...

Read the page from Great Uncle Hubert's diary and help Hubbie trace his steps. Who knows what might happen if you don't get to him in time!*

*Any similarity to the plot of countless LBP levels requiring you to find the missing Princess/Prince/cat is PURELY COINCIDENTAL!

Each clue you decipher will point you in the direction of the next level visited by Great Uncle Hubert. In that level you will find the clue to the next level and so on until you find Hubert in the last level. There are 11 levels in all. You will score one point for each clue you solve, as evidenced by a photograph of yourself in the level next to the clue in that level. The final photo must show you standing next to Great Uncle Hubert in the last level. Anyone finding all the levels and Great Uncle Hubert will get an additional 3 bonus points (making a total of 14 in all).

Lifeline!

We’re in such a good mood, what with all the 100th Episode celebrations, that we’re going to allow everyone the chance to use one lifeline in this round. If you get stuck on a clue and just can’t work it out at all, then PM Hubbie (Subject: Lifeline) and tell him which clue you’re stuck on. He’ll give you a hint which will help you get un-stuck. There’s a catch, though. If you decide to use your lifeline, it will cost you a 2 point deduction from your score. Sound fair? Good.

The Diary Page

Cheerio, I'm off on my travels again! I want to go somewhere warm, feel the hot sand between my toes. I'm thinking of heading East, to a little desert oasis where Aladdin would feel right at home! I'd best be careful though, I hear the Sultan has laid a series of traps for would-be treasure hunters. I'll have to do some nimble jumping and grappling to find all the secrets hidden amongst the market stalls. I remember a strange-looking short fellow ran one stall there - kept banging on about 'The One Ring". I wouldn't mind adding that to my collection!

**HINT** If you have trouble with any of the more cryptic clues trying putting key words (even guesses) in the level name or creator name search boxes in V0rtex's handy Spotlight Search Engine (http://spotlight.lbpcentral.com/). It may just point you in the right direction.

How do I enter?

Copy the answer sheet below and fill it in with your answers, including links to the photographs. As we said, we want you to submit the answers to all 3 rounds in one go at the end of the contest so hang on to your answer sheet and submit it with the answers to rounds 1 and 3 by PM to Hubbie by the deadline of 30th December.

To clarify: we do NOT want you to upload the photos in game before the deadline because that would give too much away to other people. Just take the photo and export it to your hard drive. You'll then be able to upload it to a photo hosting site and send us a link to it there.

Please keep copies of your photographs in-game as we may require them to be uploaded to lbp.me after the deadline . This is a small precaution to avoid any possibility of photoshopping shenanigans! Not that any of you would stoop that low, of course, but still.

SECOND CHALLENGE (Scouring Craftworld):

PHOTO 1: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 2: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 3: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 4: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 5: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 6: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 7: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 8: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 9: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]
PHOTO 10: NAME OF LEVEL............. [Insert link to photo]

That's it! Until the NEXT ROUND...

It won't stop me from playing though! I will, of course, use a super top unknown to all super duper wuper secret identity to scour these levels and see if I can unravel these clues. I'm coming for you Uncle Hubert!2012-12-12 22:24:00

Are you sure that this can decipher someone outside of a spotlight or lbpc crew ? Neither of lbpc search engines doesn't helps, even if I ask them nicely, or beg them. I even offered them cookies. 2012-12-16 10:50:00

Sorry you're having trouble deciphering the clue! Well, as it's Christmas, here's some extra help to get everyone started.

The clue is telling you about the setting of the level - somewhere deserty and Eastern with sultans and market stalls. The second to last sentence contains a big hint about the name of the creator. I can also say that it's a fairly recent level.

Hope that helps. Let us know how you get on!

Just to let you know that we've decided to extend the deadline for this contest and the Trivia Quiz to give people more time to enter. They'll both now end on Sunday, 30th December.. So, yeah, you now have the holidays to do this in and the perfect excuse for not talking to your relatives and getting out of the washing up...I'll update the op.

So just to clarify, what we're looking for is a clue in the level, and we piece together this clue from what? The theme or objects in the level? Or is it an Easter Egg that has been added in especially for this contest? (In which case this contest is actually awesome!)2012-12-19 20:38:00

Just to make sure everyone knows what they're supposed to be looking out for, it's meant to be a page from Great Uncle Hubert's diary. Here's a picture:

http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz56/shropshirelass1/3712cb573036614d2b7b5da8b8183dbc9a94b7902_zps6d7d6 260.jpg

Some will be better hidden than this one, but each of the levels will have a page in it somewhere. Good luck finding them.

Also, if you do start hunting them down, you might want to think about camouflaging what you are doing in some way, so people can't just follow you from level to level, instead of solving the clues themselves.

EDIT: For some reason Great Uncle Hubert's blood turns out to be orange...just don't ask! XD

ROFL! Mmm, right...

I just wanted to clarify something in response to a PM. The rules for this ask you to provide a link a photo showing you have found the clue. However, we do NOT want you to upload the photos ingame before the deadline because that would give too much away to other people. Just take the photo and export it to your hard drive. You'll then be able to upload it to a photo hosting site and send us a link to it there. We just ask that you hang on to the photos ingame in case we need them to be uploaded to lbp.me after the deadline (to avoid any risk of photoshopping etc)

So to repeat, take a photo of yourself next to each clue in situ in the level but don't upload to lbp.me. Save it and send us a link to it some other way.

EDIT: Same goes for the Round 1 pictures. I've changed the OP for both rounds.

Progress update: Just to let you know that someone has solved 5 clues and made it to level 4 so far! Nice sleuthing!

Oh and it's not Bio with his "super top unknown to all super duper wuper secret identity".

OK, the idea is that each clue leads you to the next level where if you hunt around you will find a clue to the next level in the trail. The first clue is to a level with an Eastern theme, with market stalls and a sultan and there's a clue to the name of the creator in the second last sentence of the clue. if you identify that level correctly and play it, you should find a clue to the next level in the series and so on.

PS: using V0rtex's spotlight search engine will be crucial in helping to solve the clues http://spotlight.lbpcentral.com/

Err... Do I have to do this round to in order to have a chance in this contest? I can only remember levels if i see a pic of them. text and info of them are likely not gonna make me know what they are whatsoever. And highly unlikely I'll understand any clues. hmm ohwell.. *mew
