In video games there are lots of songs we hear, whether they are just background music or an actual song with lyrics. What would you say is your favorite? For me, it has to be What I'm Made Of, the song that plays on the final boss of Sonic Heroes (ik its another Sonic thing, but I'm just a huge fan that I don't care). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuVAaU63K7k As for instrumental, it has to be this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptAPujlGcB0 This one just sounds intense and fast paced, and had one of the coolest intros. The desert is cold and quiet. There's no sign of civilization in sight. John has arrived in a strange new land, where he knows no one and feels like a complete foreigner. He went through hell to get to this point and his problems will worsen soon enough. Then the song starts playing and it just fits. During that moment, I felt just like John Marston. Lonely, cold and melancholic. Even though it was warm in real life and my family was just in the next room. That's perfect immersion. The credits song was pretty good too. If we're talking actual songs, it has to be the one at the end of Portal, brilliant stuff. I won't post it though as it's very spoilery. If you've not played it, do yourself a favour and do so now. Only takes a few hours to get through, but every moment is superb. The song at the end is the icing on the cake. And that my friends is not a lie.

Chemical Plant is one of my most favorite classic Sonic songs. I think you also might like the remix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2_dhBvVKx0 It's one of the remixes in Modern Sonic's Chemical Plant stage. It sounds a lot different, but it's still good. Ah, there are some excellent tracks already posted in here. I love Sonic 2's Chemical Plant, but I always prefered Metropolis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZKAu75VFec) by just a tiny bit. And DK64's Mad Jack theme was awesome too. I also loved the level theme for Frantic Factory (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYaLZgJKQDg), as well, but moreso the Machine Room variation. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeHxl8yJtXk) What I'm Made Of is great, but I don't feel it was quite as good as the main theme before it, Live & Learn (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9zZus_1_ag) from SA2. Also, I am extremely disappointed that this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWiSEyU76M4) was not immediately mentioned. Moving away from tracks are really awesome and just tracks I personally really like, this theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GczqulfTkak) would come back to me every so often for several years, but I couldn't remember where it was from. Then one day I was going over my collection of N64 games and it instantly struck me where 'that theme' was from. S.C.A.R.S is a game I don't think many people have heard of. It wasn't great, but it was fun while it lasted. The soundtrack didn't even loop properly, but this is a game I really liked as a kid, and the soundtrack just really stuck with me. If I had to select a avourite track, it'd be really close between Sonic 2 - Metropolis and S.C.A.R.S - Rally.

For me it's a tie between Fairy Fountain from Legend of Zelda: OOT and the main piano theme from Silent Hill. I can't choose one over the other, so I choose both.
