I'm stuck on making a thunderstorm, halp! D:

What I'm trying to do here is create a intro scene involving a thunderstorm using a sequencer. I'm a complete idiot on logic so please, bear with me.

The thing is this: I want it to start ONLY after the movie camera (located above the sequencer chip) ends. I've done that before and it worked the last time I did it. Yet this time, the sequencer is constantly on. I've tried taking out the battery, but it doesn't solve the problem, and I need the battery to make the thunderflash short.

Why is the sequencer on all the time? And how do I make it stop?

I want to add rain too, but I'll get to that if I manage to get stuck on that as well.

I'm not following what the issue is - What do you mean why is your Seq 'On' all the time? Is the playbar sticking at the end? If so, you could just extend the Seq timeline a little, so that none of the logic is touching the edge.2012-12-09 23:11:00

Don't worry, the battery isn't the problem.

It looks in your screenshot like the player sensor is active and the sequencer is set to play at about halfway (from the white line). Not sure if that's just the moment you took the picture and has nothing to do with your settings... But it makes me think that the problem has to do with unpausing and editing the logic at some point. This has probably caused some minor piece of logic to auto-start even though you have reset logic back the correct places and the wires are all correct.

One of the most dangerous things during testing is activating a series of logic and not rewinding all the way back. You may find that the only way to fix this problem is to delete and replace each part of your logic with a fresh version.

@Ostler: The sequencer was meant only to be turned on after a certain moment. But it was already on instead and wouldn't turn off.

@arbiekko: I see, thanks for the info. It's such a bummer though, I worked so hard to get it this far. But I've got some good news, I found a way to create a thunderstorm complete with rain without the use of the Seq. Everything works as it should now!

That's great! Nice thing about these games, there's always more than one way to do things. 2012-12-11 02:00:00

well, i know you have already sorted the issue, but just as an added point, I'm sure that if you don't leave a gap at the very end of the sequencer, anything that is right at the end of it will remain on. I have had this when doing animation and found that leaving one of my batteries right at the end of the sequencer, (ie the far right) and making sure there was no gap after it, it seemed to keep that animation on.
this might or might not help in this case. but glad you found a solution anyway.
