Noir thriller - Coming soon!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhwOJ3tDqkM I have just begun the creation of a detective/thriller type level, in the film noir style. The level will draw lots of inspiration from all sorts of noir movies of the 30s and 40s in hollywood and european cinema, particularly post war dramas, such as The Third Man, and Hitchcock's thrillers, like The 39 Steps (look them both up if you dont know them already, I highly recommend them to film fans). So far i have created some small bits of scenery, recreated a bunch of cars from the mid-30s period, and have designed the main characters. The gameplay will make use of a player controlled sackbot, with limited and customised controls. I am currently working on developing the story line, although i will be basing it very loosely around a sort of combination of the two movies mentioned up top. yeah made the trailer myself. im trying to build a stand sort of thing i can attach both my camera and my vita to, in order to film peoples levels in high quality (higher quality than this was). the tricky part is not moving the vita too much when you are holding it in an awkward position. in terms of the level, i have made progress on the sackbot logic for interacting with npcs and with the environment (for example: looking for clues, entering buildings) and have a bare bones story laid out in my mind. the thermometer is heating up incredibly quickly, so ill have to probably split this across 2 maybe 3 levels. | 2012-12-16 14:29:00 Author: Skalio- Posts: 920 |

it seems that any sackbots make huge jumps in the thermo, just placing down two or three sackbots will take up almost half the thermometer. i wasnt planning on having a large amount of npc sackbots but i think that i will have to work out a system which will allow me to emit and destroy them when necessary, in order to keep the thermo at a safe level. | 2012-12-16 21:52:00 Author: Skalio- Posts: 920 |
