Aztec Jungle Gold Hunters
Archive: 24 posts
Take on a jungle full of humourous wildlife in this atmospheric adventure that took over a year to build and paint. It works well if you want to play it on your own but you'll probably find this more fun with friends, especially if they're being eaten by tigers I welcome any feedback and will be happy if anyone just wants to give it a go. I will warn you this is a challenge that will test all your platforming skills, it's helpful to play with skilled friends if you want to get to the end. I'm not joking around about this! http://lbp.me/v/gw8erv Thankyou! http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/720c752f8a05e795a33f2ede77c8efe36319a5e2.jpg http://i3.lbp.me/img/ft/4139fec3606fe107da3f6d21fba3991129e64017.jpg http://i7.lbp.me/img/ft/9276815251209ed622c4b0686c743cc7a21a7d56.jpg | 2012-12-07 18:41:00 Author: Tanuki75 Posts: 172 |

This level has fantastic visuals and very nice gameplay ideas (the tiger attack, the vines and so on). I really like this level Its a cool adventure trip through an extreme challenging jungle. To be honest, in my opinion it is too hard. I had not enough patience to retry and retry and retry some obstacles to finish it. However: great level! Very good job! | 2012-12-08 13:11:00 Author: avundcv Posts: 2526 |
Well, that was gorgeous. Very detailed and the backgrounds were phenomenal, and that's just from what I've played so far. I had to leave the first time because of an exam, but I'll return to it with some friends later. | 2012-12-10 01:49:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |

Well, I think we can all agree that this level is a masterpiece. Wonderful visuals and flawless gameplay. I only made it to the part with the timer switches because i was cooking dinner but I hearted so I can play it again tonight. I like the cliff climbing idea, very creative. Nice addition of sound effects as well. This level is very challenging, but not in an annoying way. In a good way like "Demons Souls". I recommend that anyone reading this post to queue Aztec Jungle Gold Hunters, you wont be sorry. | 2012-12-11 15:58:00 Author: elfmirfkin Posts: 26 |
Oh man that looks SO AWESOME!!!!!! From the pictures I can tell that you spent a long time on the paintings, which I found rather difficult to paint, but now you compelled me to try again! Cant wait to play it. | 2012-12-13 23:27:00 Author: Unknown User |
I've played this level, and it really is a beautiful level! Great work Tanuki! | 2012-12-14 00:13:00 Author: EverTone22 Posts: 85 |
just getting the nitpicking out the way. At the start with the parashot it doesn't quite look right I may I suggest using a sackbot and making the controllerator invisible, also moving the bag behind him. now that is over the visuals are outstanding as I expected. also the opening was perfectly directed, background noise is amazing using animal sounds adds to the atmosphere of the level. the tiger as a bad guy was nothing short of pure genius how that was deployed. I had trouble finding out what was the objective at the start. when I finally got passed the tiger. I got stuck on the vine bit. sadly so I can't say anymore. but from what I saw so far the mechanics were highly original. the backdrops and visuals were brilliant. if I put a small critism in it would be the green stands out little as it seems to simple next to such a great backdrop. and also the vine needed to be explained better | 2012-12-16 19:51:00 Author: Jonarrthan Posts: 310 |
Queued and looking forward to playing Edit for Review- Anyone playing after I did should have had no trouble getting past that Tiger in the beginning as he dined on me so very much that he really couldn't of managed another Sackboy for quite a while lol Sillyness aside, the level is amazing, visually gorgeous and a really challenging adventure, I was Indiana Jones in a dress for a while there well done 10/10 5***** | 2012-12-16 20:29:00 Author: Unknown User |

Looks sick ill queue. Also F4F https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=71128-CITIZEN-Build-your-own-city-and-rule-it Look forward to playing it! | 2012-12-17 01:29:00 Author: waaghgork Posts: 160 |
First off, this level is visually impressive. Just from the pictures that you provided, it is obvious that this is a great level. After playing it, I can say that it was definitely worth a heart and future play with friends. I played it alone, I think that it would be best as a multiplayer experience. The level is very difficult, but I was determined to progress far enough to see more scenery. I managed to get 3 or 4 pieces of gold before quitting. Overall, well rounded level. The difficulty may deter the majority of players though. Banana! | 2012-12-17 02:07:00 Author: Bluephantom575 Posts: 142 |
Level was really hard (well for me) didn't manage to finish but still, I was stunned by the amount of detail put in the level, and that tiger! Freaked me out so much, well done! | 2012-12-17 02:10:00 Author: waaghgork Posts: 160 |
I played the level and left a review, and I was a bit disappointed. I also was disappointed at the sparse inclusion of music, me being a giant music freak. However, take no offense from my ingame review-- I didn't have room to write what I liked about the level, and here it is: The gameplay elements (not necessarily the gameplay itself) was creative and fun. The visuals were interesting and well done. The concept itself is a great idea. The opening scene is mind-blowingly amazing. I like the "grabbing gold" for points idea. Pretty creative. On the whole, not a level for me. It doesn't seem like a traditional LBP platformer, more like a much more precise platformer. But, if I go outside my preference and skill level, I can see a very good level that you put hard work into. So, 6-7/10. | 2012-12-17 04:06:00 Author: Unknown User |
feedback on your level: first response: I hate the tiger!!! he freaks me out so much, very well created! overall: it had it's ups and downs, some of the scenery looked perfect (the waterfall near the end looked absolutely stellar, loved it), but some looked a little boring, especially when not out in the open (and the bird with the clouds looked not so good), I really liked the rockclimbing with the grappling hook, altough one rock on the ceiling that I grappled to broke and I had to start over (that was not funny ), the difficulty was way to hard, I finished the level, and it took me an hour, that's way to long for a level, and to be honest, I only finished it because I promised to leave feedback on your level, because it frustrated me so much that I wanted to ragequit, I think I died more then 250 times. Way to hard areas are: the pool of mud (quicksand?) with the crocodile in it, platforms are way to small, the ape part, while clever made it was too frustrating because of accidently grappling the banana's, remove those and it's a fun but not frustrating puzzle. The bats were the worst of all, that bridge was already to hard to cross, and those stupid bats even made it worse, I died more then 100 times on that bridge alone! I can't get that screaming voice out of my head right now xD other things: I would like a few statistics things added, I wanted to know for instance how much gold I had collected at the end, and how much I missed. Also I would like to see some more puzzles that requires thinking, your level was to much about making a good jump, but not that I had to figure out what to do next. Anyway, great level, but next time, make it easier and a little shorter too, then you can make the level look even more beautiful | 2012-12-17 18:34:00 Author: Unknown User |
What am I missing?? K I'm the first to admit I hate platformers and I'm useless at them, but I stuck at this after you left a post on my tank vs aliens thread saying you would review mine and would I mind reviewing this.... I have dies about thirty times trying to get past that feckin tiger, and am getting real peed off lol. Not sure where the pretty screen shots are from, but the bit I've seen over and over and over again are very basic and 'thrown' together..... I've double checked to make sure I'm playing the same level as this thread link indicates to...... So, I'm sorry about my negative review and that I have given up because I that feckin tiger, but I'm not gonna sugar caot things.... Perhaps as MOST people have suggested, you make it easier, and indeed if the visuals do improve, I suggests you make the beginning so as well Edit: just re read my post that I very much rushed (on my iPhone) sorry about the awful typos etc, it's real hard writing on this bloody thing! I feel guilty for my terribly negative post, but I really did struggle with this level! It would seem there is far more to see than just the annoying tiger but I turkey did give it my best shot and got so thoroughly frustrated with the game play. A few suggestions: make the beginning EASIER dude, the last thing you want is to put people off before they've even seen the game! The fact that there are so few check points and the tiger seems almost impossible to get past is real off putting....try introducing the mechanics Slowly, and let people feel they are progressing with a steady climb in difficulty. I'd also suggest the graphics at the start could do with some work, it all felt very 'thrown together' ..... May have to give this another play and see what I am missing, but being such a platformer idiot I'm concerned I'm not going to get too far, sorry about that!! | 2012-12-19 22:15:00 Author: Shade_seeker Posts: 328 |
I absolutely loved this level. It's a complete experience, a fully rounded adventure. It's quite challenging, but all the more rewarding when you reach the funny end cinematics. The backgrounds are breathtaking, the painted mountains, temples and sunsets are what really sets this apart from those million of other LBP-levels. Also loved the wildlife, the tigers, monkeys, leeches and bats. I quite enjoyed exploration type gameplay. There is enough variety to keep thing interesting: parachuting, climbing on the vines, hopping through the swamp, exploring the temple (I played by myself), sliding down waterfalls. Fantastic job, man! and <3 | 2012-12-24 13:22:00 Author: pickled-punk Posts: 598 |
I have this in my queue and will update post with feedback. It looks like a lot of TLC has been put into it. Cant wait to give it a whirl | 2012-12-29 19:21:00 Author: Unknown User |
Ossu! In the queue, i should get to it tonight or tomorrow morning & will edit this up with feedback. | 2012-12-30 03:19:00 Author: waffleking23 Posts: 535 |
Not much to say that hasn't already been said...amazing visuals, but some of the game play elements are a bit tedious. And, unless I missed something, I had gotten as far as the underwater section where it tells you to "travel with your partner again"...I died, lost my glow stick, and couldn't see anymore. There are a lot of original (or unseen to me) ideas here, such as the mountain climbing with the grappling hook. Definitely has potential, but some of the parts either need midway checkpoints, or be toned down a bit. Long platformers and high difficulty don't mix well. Still, a yea and heart from me! | 2012-12-30 05:10:00 Author: Brannayen Posts: 438 |
I'll give this one a go. From the pictures... It doesn't really cause hype, but as it's a F4F I'll go through it with an open mind. No, I'm not asking F4F. I just find people who do that cool and cool. | 2013-01-03 13:44:00 Author: FreeAim Posts: 2462 |
