how to make Checkpoints apear only if score is above 0 ?
Archive: 5 posts
I want to make an infinite checkpoint exist and be useable if player X (X being 1,2,3,4) score is above 0. If a players score is 0 then the checkpoint vanishes or disappears. If the players score goes back to being above 0, the infinite check point re-appears. I was hoping to use this for a multiplayer game, so if one player dies and his points were at 0, only his game ends. | 2012-12-05 16:08:00 Author: Unknown User |
All players use the same checkpoints for respawns. as such the only way you can manage respawn of individual players is if you fake it by having each player control their own bot. When a players score reaches zero, then you would disable his bots respawning emitter. | 2012-12-05 17:21:00 Author: Lockstitch Posts: 415 |
Ok! So this is what I've tried so far. I made a check point gave it two micro chips (Micro chip A and Micro chip B) Copied the Check point and put it into an Emitter that spits one out every so often. Micro Chip A Has a timer on it that resets every 10 seconds. The output goes to Micro Chip B. Once it hits 10 seconds it sends the signal to Micro Chip B. Micro Chip B: It has a Score Sensor set to detect the score of 0. The output of the score sensor leads to a Destroyer. It works the first time if I test it, and grab some score points before 10 seconds. Its checks the score after ten seconds then does not explode. Then I'll get hit or something; to make my score go to 0, and wait for the timer to reach its ten second mark and it blows up. WA-LA! But the problem comes when....................... I grab more score points again after its realized it was zero before. It still blows up all the new ones the emitter sends out, even if I have more then 0 points.......... HELP!!!!! lol This is driving me mad! I want this to work! At the very least tell me this is kind of a glitch on their part...... | 2012-12-23 05:44:00 Author: Unknown User |
@ lel: if you set the score sensor to 0, it detects if you have a score of at least zero. Basically your sensor is acting like a battery. Change it to a score sensor set to 1 attached to a not swtich. Also, I'm not sure what the timer is for. | 2012-12-23 06:15:00 Author: koltonaugust Posts: 1382 |

I did test it for like 2 hours with no problems. Thank you in advance. If I have more problems I'll update this topic. | 2012-12-23 10:11:00 Author: Unknown User |
